"Regularity" of Jumping Question
Brains replied to BerryBoy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I will add a couple things to what AggieDave said. If you jump more regularly during your student status, it will make things a lot easier on you, you will see progress and be less frustrated. After getting your license, jumping so infrequently will severly limit your skills and while you may not be "unsafe" you will be frustrated or bored of not having anyone to jump with, or not progressing in skills. Usually the people we see that do what you are asking, don't last more than a year and they are gone for good, they just find something else or get bored with it. I think it is possible and if it is something you truly want to do then you will find the time. Side note, Dave, i am going to need a recurrency, set up the course and let's do a couple 14k H&P's Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. -
And a party that never ends Bonus if you can name the singer and song those two lines came from!! LisaH, pay attention, that is NEED TO KNOW info for living here. Actual lyrics are "The road goes on forever and the party never ends." Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Man that sucks. You could always get rid of your land line and just use your cell. I did that a couple years ago and it is nice not to have the phone ring while eating dinner etc. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Full face Camera helmet - Legend or fact
Brains replied to crashtested's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Like THIS? Skysystems is making the sidewinder again. It is a full face oxygen/factory diver with a camera box on the side. edit: dammit, jared beat me. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. -
Nice rig man! I did the same thing with my first rig, just couldn't find something together with everything i wanted. I bought a container new and filled it with used stuff that was still in great shape and it lasted me several years, in fact the guy i sold the container to still jumps it, so i see it all the time. Congrats Ian! But, i didn't know that pro swoopers could swing engagement rings like that!! Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

You have already gotten several examples of reserves that are larger than mains, and some reasons that it might be the other way around, although not GOOD reasons. I can't think of a good reason to have a smaller main. PD's website has a section on Reserves and i am going to butcher the quote but it goes something like this, "Do you really want to be jumping possibly the smallest canopy you have ever flown in an emergency situation?" I also jump a 107 main and i have a 126 reserve. One of my older rigs used to have a 113 reserve and i had to use it once, flew great, landed great, etc. but when i landed i decided to get rid of the rig and get something that would hold a larger reserve, looking up at it (the 113) i remember thinking,"Man, i sure wish this was bigger" Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

I just thought this was worth repeating. For the record, i currently jump a rig with double pillows (bought used, it came that way.) and i still don't let people take grips on my harness. Leg pads for hybrids, maybe. But never on my harness. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

His business is a roofing SUPPLY business. It is not his product. I do business with ABC supply here in San Antonio and they are one of the best companies i buy from. I am not a roofer but i buy metal products from them. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

I have hesitated to post anything in any of the shrek threads because i only met the man once. Skinny and a ton of others came all the way to TX for skyfest one year (mudfest year) and i made it a point to meet him. He was just like he was online, brutally honest and funny as hell. I knew he was a great guy. He took a liking to Shiner Bock while he was here and drank every one i offered him. On the last day of the boogie, i was packing up the truck and walking back to the hanger to get some more stuff and finishing up one of my last shiners. Lee was walking out to the parking lot, preparing to leave as well. He saw my beer and came towards me with that huge grin of his. He looked right at me as he grabbed the beer from my hands and said, "Thanks mate, you're a lifesaver" He was sweating buckets and took a huge swig of my beer, patted me on the shoulder, handed it back to me and kept on walking towards his truck. I just stood there and laughed shaking my head. Only he could get away with that. Blue skies Lee, you are truly a great spirit that obviously knew how to live life.

search this forum for "really righ stuff" or RRS posts by loudiamond. He has a mount that will do what you are asking i think. The only kicker may be that in vertical, it might block your video depending on how you have things set up. It looks like a bullet proof set up the way lou has his done though. I was thinking of switching to one of those before i had to quit flying camera all together. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Brains replied to kevin922's topic in The Bonfire

Hey Kevin, Steve buys and sells airplanes all the time. Usually he never has to actuall take possesion of them befroe they are sold again. I don't know steve that well, but do know him to be a great businessman. The otters are probably ALWAYS for sale at the right price. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

I agree with Gene, hell, even the convenience stores here in TX have pre-paids any phone that i could give you, you would have to activate with cingular (at&t) and it just wouldn't be worth it for the time you will be here. On a side note, enjoy your time here!
