    Read as much as you can online from the gear manufacturers websites. Ask as many questions as you need to. Ask people who are wearing different rigs about their choices etc. Basically gain as much knowledge as possible.

    Derek i commend you for making a decision about what you want in life. I sat at the dz one day listening to a guy say much the same thing as you.(Hammerhead) He said that at 5k jumps he would walk. He walked before he made that many.(as far as i know) I was in awe that a person as skilled and knowledgeable as he was could do that. Canopy pilot, aff I, rigger, videographer, tandem I, everything. I still get enjoyment from teaching students to skydive. I am a new tandem I and i am enjoying that very much as well. However, as soon as i no longer think that what i do is worth it, i will NOT hesitate to walk away. Congrats with your decision and i hope you enjoy yourself in ways that you couldn't before.

    Listen to her! i own two rw suits, one ff suit, and two pairs of ff pants. Last weekend, i think i wore almost all of them for different dives. Learn to do it all and you will have more fun in this sport. Just my .02 Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

    I can confirm that!! I just found my first tandem pics the other day and we were laughing at them at the dz this weekend. I think everyone looks like that the first time. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

    :15:3 Had good days on Friday and Saturday. Lots of coach jumps, some fun rw stuff etc. Beer: First birdman jump, first jump on a 105, and first paid tandem. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
