  1. Wow, now that is a response I didn't quite expect, is that a compliment or what? Ha Ha! "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  2. Alright, I will admit, I went on an awesome CRW dive with a very talented and kick ass dude from the USA Parachute Team. Jeff Cornelius if you see this, thanks for taking me on my first CRW 4 Stack. Must say that even after 1200 jumps, the thought of getting mixed up with CRW frightened me. LOL I actually docked twice and had fun doing it. Thanks again Jeff and Frank for some killer fun. "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  3. Manbird, What is your wingloading on your Sabre2? "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  4. Thanks Gus, that is pretty much what the general consenses is.. I guess that it is all pretty much self preference! I was warned about jumping the ellipticals with the B-man but I have had some good luck so far. But like I said, will let you know more after this weekend. $99.00 boogie anyone??? Come flock with Skydive Alabama! "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  5. Hmm, seems most of you admire the Sabre2... But I thought I would add my input as well. I am flying the Skyflyer and use a Stiletto 97 loaded at 2.1 to 1 with a 9 feet bridle and have not had any problems, but now that I just jinxed the crap out of myself, I look forward to this weekend. I am assuming that all of you jumping the Sabre2 have not experienced a hard opening? I used to jump the Cobalt 95 but wound up getting whacked so hard that I was knocked out. That does not feel all that wonderful. So I went with the ole' trusty Stiletto and have had some great openings. BUT, I am curious as to you guys flying the Sabre2 97 like the openings. Please let me know. Thanks. "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  6. Man, Bowie, where were you about 6 months ago when I did that. That sounds like an excellent remedy to the broken zipper woes. I, unfortunely, broke the zipper on a friends suit that let me borrow it. I think he just took the suit and had a heavy duty zipper placed on it and is working fine!!! Not sure if that helps you any, but hey, any info is good info! "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  7. Thanks ManBird and Glen, that is very useful info and much needed. Just was kinda concerned about the very thing that Glen described. Doesn't sound like a very pleasant situation to be in. Thanks guys. "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  8. Thanks Kevin, I'm just getting kinda bored soaring by myself. Would like to get some "More experienced" flockers in here to teach me a thing or two... God knows I need it. Wish you could be here but spread the word. Gotta get somebody, Dammit! "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  9. Just for those that might be interested, We here at Skydive Alabama are having a $99.00 King Air Boogie the weekend of Oct 11th and 12th and I would really like some "Bird-People" to fly with. Seeing as though I am the only one soaring here, I would like to invite anyone interested here to flock with me. If you need any info: "www.skydiveal.com" "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  10. Just have a simple question, may be stupid, may not, but... As far as deployment body position, I had a real bad problem with barrel rolling when I would attempt to straightened my body with a slight arch. BUT, when I would bend my knees slightly and pull them downward, I am able to stay stable. Now, if there is an appearent "Disadvantage" to deploying this way please tell me. But if it is a case of "You have to go with what works!" then I will continue to do what I am doing! So far so good, but you never know when the perverbial "Luck" will run out! So, with all of that nonsense said, I look forward to hearing everyones perspective! "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"

    Skyflyer

For starters, if there are any of you that have had the infamous dream of soaring across the sky while looking down and seeing the ground pass you by, this is the ticket to your dreams. I owned a GTi prior to purchasing the Skyflyer. The GTi was a blast and relatively easy to figure out and fly. The Skyflyer is not the same animal. It was little trickier finding the "Sweet spot" during flight and seems to be a little easier to get unstable. But once you have figured out the optimum flight characteristics, you will take off to whole new level of fulfilling your dream. As far as deployment, not a whole lot different from the GTi, just a little easier to get in a bind. Granted, you are having to take MY word for it, or possibly judge from an opinion that may be completely different from everyone elses, BUT, I have found that the Skyflyer is everything they say it is in the ad and then some. Coming from someone that has just started flying the beast, quite possibly some more opinions should be welcomed! But I will say that it is a complete blast to fly and you never have to worry about a bad spot! I would not, however, recommend someone with little to no experience with wingsuits to "Just give it a try!" It is not for the weak at heart. Hope that this review has come across helpful. Blue Skies, Long Soars!!!
  12. I do not have any jumps on a Vengence, but I know from experience that the Cobalt loaded at 1.8 gives me excellent openings everytime, but the canopy is P/C Sensitive, No more than a 24" or it will whack the hell out of you. I went to this canopy for the birdman for the simple reason that it gives me slow, on heading openings everytime!!! Hope this helps "Sure, those Golf Carts may look all warm and fuzzy, but they WILL take a chunk out of your ass!"
  13. I have recently ventured into the awesome world of Wingsuit flight. I have purchased a GTi and have made 8 jumps with it last weekend... My question to all you wingsuit freaks out there is: What is the optimum position to establish the most freefall time and distance while flying this suit. I have gone as far as 2.25 miles but seems my freefall time is not what it should be. Any help would be mostly appreciated. BirdMan GTi

I have recently had a phenomonal experience in my jumping career. I purchased a Birdman GTi model Wingsuit with me having 800+ jumps. Though I had a frightful experience in the ordering process with a certain dealer shafting and lying to me, (*If you would like to know who that was, please email me at: skydivefreak32@aol.com) it was all terrifically worth it. The GTi was a little difficult at first but with minimal time, became exceptionally easy to fly. The hardest thing to get used to is the spot, which, as stated, there is never a bad spot, so that would tell you that there is nothing all that difficult about this suit. The lift is excellent and noticable when learned to fly right. Once you figure out the correct arm position and learn how to relax at the same time, you definitely feel the foward movement and lift. Probably one of the most terrifying moments I have had was on the first jump with the GTi, which was a great learning experience. I learned rather quickly that if you forget to close up all the wings on the suit on deployment, you are in for a hairy ride. I forgot to close the legs when I deployed and low and behold, HEADDOWN DEPLOYMENT was to follow. So, be sure to remember to practice dumping in a track. I highly recommend the Atair Aerodynamics Cobalt for this discipline. I had nothing but slow openings all weekend.(*Even in the headdown) As an overall review of this suit, if it were possible to give it a 29 star, I would, this is an incredible way to live your dreams. BUT, go through the course if possible or spend a lot of time with someone that has a lot of experience. If you think that you can just order this suit and do fine, think again, PLEASE. I know from experience. Things can get nasty really quick. Kim and Sara from Birdman, Inc. can help you in anyway and highly recommend going through the source when ordering. Just be sure that you order from someone that knows what the hell they are talking about. If they seem a little "unknowledgable" go somewhere else. If you have any questions about the GTi, I would be glad to help if possible.
