ohhhh! that sounds fun! What was the temp? crazy!! I am in MI, and my dz ins just plain closed( mind you, I get my A in the spring). I only have this place to reconnect through the winter. I feel sorry for the civilians that are killed in all countries involved. Some fanatics wanted to get America's attention, well, I think they have no idea how vengeful that attention will be. I am glad you guys brought up tattoos again. I really want to get one of something skydive related. I am going to new orleans w/ some friends who said they would go skydiving with me this spring if I got a tattoo. Good deal for me seeing how I have wanted to get one for a while now. I have to put it in an inconspicuous place, have to be "professional" ---if I ever will be capable of that. I want something not too big. Any ideas on place or? wow. I find that to be somewhat scary. I have really wanted to go to other dz's, but perhaps I am nieve in thinking that most are as "person concious" as mine. I would think that the concern would not be about the next load, but about a person who may have really hurt themselves. I know that we all should be conscious that we take risks when when we jump, but I have held solid that if I ever did hurt myself, there would be people there that would at least be concerned. the only time I had to walk back was when I was supposed to be spotting and telling my jm to get out. I had asked my dz owner where the spot was. I told her to get out, and she told me to wait. We did, and ended up waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy off. She landed off airport, and I just made a far off runway. Sometimes it pays to have a huge student canopy. I didn't know that was even possible!!!!!!!! 600 pages! The most I ever got through in one night was 400. I did extremely well on the test though. I know that statistics are not trustworthy, but I have seen masses of statistics like this one. It sucks. There are problems, but who will fix them? Maybe I am just overworked from the lecture last night or the four tests I have taken this week on this crap, but I can't say my hopes are high for anything major changing in this world. if you look at the statistics in the real numbers it still looks bad. I believe it is at least half of the world's popolulation (at least) that lives under the poverty line. If you ever look at America's consumption rate, compared to everyone elses, it is freakish. No, it is sad. I am NO environmentalist, but I did happen to go to a lecture last night with that exact topic. The only thing we can do is be responsible for our own actions and try to make a difference individually. It does add up. I listened to Julia Hill speak (lady in a redwood for two years), and she really had an impact on my views of the environment and how we treat people (all countries). One thing I learned.. If you are pointing the finger at someone else or some problem, just remember that there are three fingers pointing back at you. This is something that I never thought of, and will pay more attention to in the future. Be responsible for your own actions. I agree with you completely ( I was the one who said the thing about maturity). I think that you have to be completely honest with a friend when things aren't working out, and then there really isn't any reason for you still not to be friends (unless he always wanted something more). I think if there is chemistry that is worth chancing the friendship, then it is worth it. One of my best guy friends asked me out and it didn't work out. But, we are still best friends. Maybe I just got lucky though. It is a risky situation. I think that if the friendship is strong and you are both mature individuals, you should be fine.
