  1. Why not raise it to $50. per hour? Imagine how great life would be if every kid working at McDonalds was making $50. per hour. $100.000 per year plus overtime, medical insurance, dental and a retirement plan. Wouldn't that be a utopian wetdream?
  2. WTF? You feel that 90 years of strife was 'working well?' I take it you don't live in the north. Your statement was: Its not about how we got here its about how its worked out. Actually I've lived in both the north and south of Ireland. The North is at peace and is one of the most prosperous parts of the UK, it also has per capita the highest GDP in the UK. Things down south are hard at the moment but we do well from having the cheap prices just up the road in the north where Sterling is used. Thanks to the difference in Euro/Sterling we get to pick and chose. Not bad at all. Well, yeah but you stole that land from the Irish. F'king Cromwell and his ilk. And its that kind of backward looking attitude that kept the people of Ireland mired in terror for forty years. Great, just remember this the next time we start discussing the Palestinians and American Indians.
  3. Irony score=11 I don't think you know what irony means. Perhaps you should look it up in the dictionary. Additionally, it is well established that the irony scale is 1-10. Therefore, if an irony score applied here, which it doesn't, the highest attainable score would be 10.
  4. OK, be a radical. As long as you are willing to accept the long term consequences of going against tradition. You know you are really putting yourself out there on this one. What are you talking about? I'm sure you wouldn't understand.

  7. I do, I also see the connection between the two. Shall we exchange more rather meaningless phrases, or shall we call it a day? If you have something more meaningful to contribute, please do so. Or you could just continue to try and hijack the thread and turn it into another off topic folly about deposing dictators bladda.... bladda....
  8. I suspect the wardrobe is not the important detail here. You may believe it speaks to his mental state, but it may just be a convenient outfit for concealing the weapon. OK, ignore the Santa costume. So does it fit your definition of normal behavior to shoot dead 6 members of your family at Christmas? I wouldn't call an Honor Killing normal either with or without the Santa Suit.
  9. You forgot to mention that Dutch weather tends to be liberally biased. As for my views: I'm no climatologist, but I know the basics of GW, and AFAICS the data points in the direction of GW. My anecdotal experiences that indeed don't prove a thing, happen to point in the same direction, that's all. Then hopefully you understand the differences between Global Warming and Climate Change.
  10. The WMD didn't exist either? Edit: In the mean time plants and trees in my garden are budding out and I even got some plants flowering. Well, that's of course just the local weather faking climate change resulting in spring-like weather in December. And we had snow last year in November. Did you have a point or are you also basing your views on anecdotal evidence?
  11. They're always good for a chuckle, no concept of what anecdotal evidence is. Now that's pretty funny ladies and gentlemen. Speaking of funny, no more bright ideas like the US diposing dictators for half of the countries wealth? What does that have to do with the subject of this thread? Some more funny stuff......

  13. Wrong. XDIF only applies if you are comparing one President to another. Former Speaker of the House doesn't count. so is this a prediction that Newt will not in fact be winning next year? This question should be for Billvon since he is the one who made the comparison.
  14. Well, that's what I'm here for. Let me know if you need more help with these kinds of issues.

  16. I disagree. I don't think the average citizen should be prevented from owning a weapon an off duty police officer is allowed to own.
  17. I can't figure out if he thinks Iran is a serious threat or not: Iran is a serious threat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne41EPnrKFU&feature=related Iran is not a serious threat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ew5qP2oPdtQ
  18. Saddam Hussein sounded pretty confident when he was sabre-rattling, too. Right up until the bombs started falling and the missles started hitting. Then he was found months later hiding in a hole in the ground. Hopefully, the leadership in Iran aren't dumb enough to fuck with the U.S. Navy. That would be a very, very bad mistake.
  19. Gee.. where have I heard something similar to this before....... Aha, I got it...sort of reminds me of someone obtaining false signatures for Obama. http://www.southbendtribune.com/sbt-fake-signatures-may-mean-obama-didnt-actually-qualify-in-indiana-20111013,0,181597.story yeah, now I remember.
  20. This is always the time we start hearing the calls for a third party candidate. Many envision this savior riding in on a white horse to save us from another candidate with defects ie. th perfect politician. Hate to tell you but there is no savior. People all have defects and inconsistencies in their behavior and character. The reality is that should a 3rd party candidate ever win, they would be another sad disappointment because they would have difficulties getting support in Congress for their ideas.
  21. I think you are in for a surprise. You under-estimate how fed up people are with Obama including those who worked to get him elected. It's normal to be turned off during the vetting process when every negative aspect of a candidates past is being highlighted. It's quite different when the primaries are over and the different political parties rally behind their chosen candidate and promote the positive aspects.
  22. So that means it was just normal behavior? Really? Texas is a strange place. What I find strange is someone from Chicago who thinks a Muslim wearing a Santa Suit at Christmas is normal behavior anywhere. You have it backwards (as usual). I don't think this tragedy was normal behavior at all, and I wasn't the one who said it was. Well, good, then we agree. Do you think Muslim fathers who have a daughter dating a non-Muslim should have their right to own a gun taken away?
