thanks for all the good information guys when I started skydiving Parachute Club at Fort Campbell Kentucky in the early eighties we had a first lieutenant that had a Trans Am with a 6.6 liter engine I only know this because it was written on the hood scoop.we had some European guys come through the club and they were just shocked and amazed by that a car could have a 6.6 liter engine .as an aside this particular butter bar was kind of a dick so I had to chuckle to myself when after about a year in the sport he had an opening that was spinning a bit he was real quick on the chop and when we landed we all asked him if he had tried to unstow his brakes and clear the spin he was adamant that he had tried everything and couldn't get it to stop spinning long story short we recovered his cutaway main canopy one break unstowed and ne break still stove he never came back and made a single jump after that he just disappeared i have on occasion been accused of pulling low . first I will say that I make no claim to be a car guy . but I have the TV on and there's a car restoration show on . they're working on this car and they keep calling it a Firebird /Trans Am they said it that way several times even printed it across the screen that way . I know its just a badge issue . but the grill clearly has a badge that says Pontiac .does not that in and of itself mean its a Firebird and not a Trans Am? i have on occasion been accused of pulling low . I just watched the video again and it would be more than that because the tanks they were using were the ones that are like 4 foot tall like you see you on cutting torches and welders I wonder what the deposit would be on the 50 of those type of Tanks I bet a bunch what I don't get.well I guess I do get it he's a hardcore BASE jumper but why would you wear your base rig only from 8000 feet why not just wear your regular skydiving rig and get your swoop on at the end i have on occasion been accused of pulling low . I made a jump on a northern lite cont. that had a belly band throw out. ( but 3 ring so thread drift) but on that jump i never pulled and didn't have an aad. i guess i should be deadit was at sparta ill and it was dave's rig i have on occasion been accused of pulling low . I remember watching a guy bust himself up on a paraplane ( an early square with really long lines) years ago. he came in flared too high rotated under the canopy. and at that point he was only a few feet off the ground.then went up thru the arch and stalled when he was level with the canopy and flat of his back . like 20 maybe 25 or 30 ft off the ground. and fell flat of his back crash he went to the hosp. broken i have on occasion been accused of pulling low . I would like to organize a ton way ( 10 everybody on it 200 lbs without gear) that actually worked. To the o.p. I see you have this rig listed in the classifieds I don't think what you're asking is out of line but I have serious trepidations about you marketed it as a beginner rig the flare on a lightning is tricky at best for an experienced jumper and a 143 reserved for beginner unless they're like 97 pounds I dont think thats really a beginner setup i have on occasion been accused of pulling low .
