  1. 3k? 3k in legal fees and you are complaining that is killing you? Shit 3k barely got me in the door. I was thinking the same thing. A member of my family had to pay a $25k retainer to ever get the ball rolling. Cheaper to keep her?? Hmmmm.... With the BS no-fault divorce there is nothing a man can do to stop a divorce from happening. 54% of marriages end in divorce and over 70% of them are initiated by the woman, most of the time because she is bored of her husband. The dumbest thing a man can do nowadays is to get married. Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  2. Bro don't feel bad. I make $100kish and in NJ I'm the working poor. I'm swiming in the same sea as guys who live and work in NYC and made $100k in one month! So it's not being broke. As for being short...what's the matter with you! But for kicks if you have the cash and fun friends you can always do the "He has to be funny" drinking game. Grab a bottle, and randomly ask any girl in a bar what she looks for in a guy. If in under 1 min she says "And he has to be funny..." take a drink thank her and move on. If her and her friend say it together at the same time that's a doubble shot! Good luck and enjoy your liver while it lasts! Dude your priorities are completely out of whack. You say you're making 100k a year, yet I see this: Jumps : 18 In sport : 2 years Why the fuck do you waste your money dating women when you could be skydiving? Hell you say you've already gone through one divorce already. What more do you need? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLBw28Ojw4c Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  3. Not necessarily http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,2014332,00.html So it is not alcohol itself which is healthy for you. Its the positive social side effects of consuming a diluted solvent. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

  5. He was never the "Mr. Right". She just realized what most women realize by the time they hit 35. They're running out of time and out of options. And they need to settle asap or otherwise they'll become the crazy cat lady with 12 cats. Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  6. Suicide jumpers don't general lee get that lucky. Ha Ha. I see what ya did there. ETA: For the record, I have ZERO sympathy for someone who does this soley selfish act. If someone kills themself, they will get nothing but ridicule and joking about it from me. Why? Everyone has the right to prematurely end their lives if they wish to do so. Just as long as they do it without directly harming others. Do you also ridicule people who smoke, drink alcohol, eat unhealthy, don't exercise etc.? Because all that shit is just another form of slow suicide. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

  9. why? Because reserves generally open faster than mains. They're also designed and packed to have a lower chance of malfunction than a main. That's why, in your FJC, you were taught than in an emergency exit from a plane, below a certain altitude, go directly to silver. It also would have been more likely to open on heading... which, in this case, could have cost him his life. Luck was on his side that day! Im not so sure about that. If you look at the video you can see he pulls at around 1:03, that means he should be under reserve canopy at around 1:05-1:06 and still above the rock. And the reserve would most likely be a slower canopy. You might be right. But assuming he did clear the peaks, I wonder what he would have found on the other side. From what I can see, he was extraordinarily lucky to end up where he did. There was a lot of very unforgiving terrain he could've landed on instead. If I'm not mistaken its the DZ on other side of the peaks. The lake Tremorgio you can see here: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=46.492011,8.692589&spn=0.033327,0.117245&t=h&z=14 is the lake you can see on the video. 10. I'm 6'1" and I used to weight about 300 lbs before I started skydiving. It took me 18 months of strict dieting and exercising 5 times a week to drop to 180 lbs. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

  13. I would guess they filmed a canopy spiraling against a clear blue sky and then applied some video editing magic by removing the blue sky and replacing it with the mountain. Or at least thats what I would try if I would have to fake that shot. Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  14. I ordered from Parasport Italia directly (their own webstore) and had my jumpsuit delivered in about 5 weeks without any problems. Maybe you should look more closely into the whole 'Polish dealer' thing. Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  15. I'm not a TI but I do have question. Did you open the lower connectors and disconnect the RSL before you did a controllability check with the toggles? I'm not sure if you're turning the canopy from the rears or with the toggles before all the disconnecting and the video is cut so that you'll just suddenly have toggles in your hand. Isn't there a possibility that you'll get a malfunction during the control check and are forced to do a cut-way and since your RSL and lowers are disconnect you'll get into trouble? 16. Someone is beign a bit of a drama queen haha no but seriously...lets be serious, nobody relies on an AAD, if we have an AAD fire, we needed it, not wanted it. I don't think you will ever meet anyone who regularly has a cypress fire, because they think it is fail proof, thats making a very gross assumption and overplaying the situation greatly. You guys do realize that you are arguing against a safety device...made for safety? Replace the word AAD and Cypress with the word reserve handle. Now how silly do we all sound. if you just don't want to spend the money, say it, but don't make arguments against a piece of equipment that saves lives, it sounds silly. -Evo unneeded and unwanted cypres fire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLqaMGIqWe4 unneeded and unwanted vigil fire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDUPAkuWP4Y Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  17. If you toss 1 quarter a year, your chances of having a head come up on all of your combined tosses is 50% If you toss 5000 quarters per year, your chances of having a head come up on all of your combined tosses is 50% The risk is independent of the number of jumps you make, all other things being equal. All other things being equal, the risk is almost entirely dependent on the number of jumps you make. If the chances of a fatality during any given jump is 1:100,000 and if you make 2 jumps you double your chances of dying as a result of a jump since you have now made 2 of the 100,000 jumps. If you make 100,000 jumps you will have statistically assured yourself of dying that year. Of course, if you mitigate your personal chances through training, and safe practices, following BSRs, etc. Then the 1:100,000 chance becomes somewhat more remote for you. To maintain the 1:100,000 figure, someone else's chances must become a bit more certain. In that case all other things are not equal. (even then, you may die during a jump and the careless jumper may never stub his toe.) Also......if you toss a quarter you will get some heads and some tails....most likely equal numbers. If you survive 1000 jumps and you don't surivive #1001 the game is over. Sometimes the game is over after 1 jump. Just about impossible to get 1000 where you live and 1000 where you die. Wrong. If some event has a chance of 1 in 100000 of occurring then the likely hood of that event happening at least once after 100000 attempts is about 63,21%. Note: I'm not arguing that you have 1 in 100000 chance of dying on every skydive. I'm just making a point about probabilities. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

  19. It took me 19 PRCP's to get to freefall. My first FF jump was jump # 30. One saturday I did 6 PRCP's of which only 1 was succesfull. Wouldn't have quit even if'd gotten the bowling speech. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

  22. I haven't done a track as long as you did. The last jump I looked at the fall rate during the track it was about 88 (from my alti-track). I weight about 213 lbs (97kg) at exit and i'm about 6'1" tall. Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  23. I have over 200 jumps on my Sabre2. I have had line twists 2 times and in both cases it was due to my body position. In the past 20 or so jumps I've had 1 off headed opening. I've never had hard openings on it. Maybe my canopy is a mislabeled Pilot/Safire/Spectre because I don't understand what all this bitching is about. The only explanation I can think of is confirmation bias since I doubt most people actually keep a record on whether or not they had an off headed opening or not. Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  24. I have not seen the video and was responding to a statement that the skyhook was activated by the jumper hitting his rig on the wing of the Cessna. If in fact it was a snagged RSL then that would be a different situation. Sparky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Bv_NqiT7pM Your rights end where my feelings begin.
  25. Mechanical - reliable? Have you ever looked inside one? The mechanics are very delicate and it is ridiculously easy to break one. The only aspect of reliability they have its the fact that you don't have to carry backup batteries in case the current ones run out. Experience over decades by many skydivers says that they don't break so easy at all. I have an Alti II purchased in 1976. It was new then, still works like new now.
