Because they want to get drunk cheap and easily. And the watery lite piss-beer has the least taste which makes it easy to drink and get drunk with. Because nobody really drinks beer for its taste. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

So what's with these record numbers of military suicides?
Arvoitus replied to jimbrown's topic in Speakers Corner
The reason for the statistical spike is very simple. The military no longer lies and stopped hiding the suicides into the statistics as various forms of accidents and mishaps. Your rights end where my feelings begin. -
Executing American Citizens without benefit of trial
Arvoitus replied to jimbrown's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't understand what you're asking. People(US citizens) are being executed on daily basis without trial, so what difference does it make if a high profile person gets the same treatment as some low level gangbanger or drug dealer? Your rights end where my feelings begin. -
If you had to listen to one song for the rest of your life.......
Arvoitus replied to JerseyShawn's topic in The Bonfire
What about this one Lisa :) Great, now I have to watch American Psycho tonight. If I'd have to choose between the two songs in OP's post I'd probably choose to puncture my eardrums. If I could choose myself, I'd choose : Apocalyptica - Farewell Your rights end where my feelings begin. -
Doesn't work simply because too many men are convicted of rape even if they haven't done anything. 57% of people exonerated by the Innocence Project ( http://www.innocenceproject.org/ ) were convicted of rape. Would you be okay with the fact that innocent men would be executed? I know feminists would be delirious about it, knowing that their mindset is that of "Men who are unjustly accused of rape can sometimes gain from the experience." http://falserapesociety.blogspot.com/ Your rights end where my feelings begin.

I don't do that. I have nothing against women and nothing against complete and total gender equality. The problem just is that feminism isn't about gender equality. Its about female supremacy. Its completely irrelevant what feminist claim their movement is about when their actions speak a clear message about what they really are after. When for instance did you see or hear a feminist do anything about the following facts: - 80 % of suicides are committed by men - 93 % of workplace deaths are male - 80 % of homeless are men You haven't, because they don't care. And the usual response is that men need to fix their own problems. According to the feminist mindset, if women have a problem its due to the patriarchal society oppressing the womynkind and the whole society needs to bend over backwards to fix it. If men have a problem, the standard feminist response is that men just need man up and fix their shit. And if you really press them, they'll whine how women are so much unequal still that they need to keep on working, making women more equal. For feminist, gender equality is a zero sum game. What ever is done to ensure that men's lives becomes better automatically makes women's lives worse, which is unacceptable. One the stupidest ideas by feminists is the idea that 'equal opportunities should guarantee equal outcomes' and the idea that there needs to be quotas for women to become CEO's for instance. But for some weird reason you'll never hear feminist demand that there'll be quotas for more women to work in any of the 'dirty', dangerous jobs that are usually 'men's jobs'. When, for instance, did you last hear that a woman died in mine collapse whilst working? Your rights end where my feelings begin.

And therein lies the problem... A SLUTWALK is doing what to reduce the number of victims? It's attempting to convince men that dressing/looking/acting a certain way does not entitle you to a woman's body. No, this walk probably isn't going to change behaviors overnight, but these things are changed by gradually, consistently getting this message across. It's attempting to convince the criminal justice system that dressing/acting/looking a certain way does not change the fact that a woman was victimized and deserves a fair shot at justice. If women are made to feel like they "asked for it" and therefore don't deserve to seek justice for the crime that was committed, they may be less likely to report it. Less reporting = less ability to take the perps off the street. And it encourages more perps who figure that if no one stops them, they continue to be "entitled" to it if she's "asking for it." That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are other things as well. That's not to devalue some of the other ideas about self-defense, but that doesn't get at the root societal issue. This is attempting to do so. And therein lies your problem. The fucked up mindset of 'all men are potential rapists and need to be reminded of that fact 24/7'. Most men never have and never will rape or sexually assault a single woman in their lives. And the small subset of men who do, they aren't going to give two flying fucks about bunch of angry feminists on some silly walk. All these people will achieve is to make the average man, who'll never commit any of these acts, feel even worse, simply for being male. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

Finally got to freefall this weekend
Arvoitus replied to pyrotech's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In your training program do you get to free fall with just 1 PRCP? What kind of plane is it and what kind of an exit is it? Do you hang on a strut or do you do some sort of poised exit? I went through S/L and my 3rd free fall ( 8 sec ) was a total failure for one simple reason. As I was hanging on the strut I didn't pay any attention to my legs (which were completely bent) and as soon as I let go of the strut I did a back flip and went into a spin. The next jump I paid attention to my legs and it went fine. I'd say you should jump more. Even thought the tunnel is very efficient in training how to fly in freefall it isn't going to help you to learn how to exit an aircraft and how to deal with mental side of doing that. The only way you're going to learn how to deal with nervousness and fear is by jumping more. Your rights end where my feelings begin. -
That and also you're projecting meaning into words and behaviors that don't have that meaning. Being straightforward and saying what you mean doesn't make one simple or dumb. Or being indirect and unable to say what you mean doesn't make one intelligent. It has more to do with being able to stand behind what you say and taking responsibility over what you're saying. Women being indirect and unclear with what they're saying leave the responsibility to the listener over what they've said and should something they've said have some negative consequences weasel they're way out of what they've said. Men being direct with what they're saying leave no room for interpretation which forces them to stand behind what they've said. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

Well, then I guess the only thing I think we disagree on is how literally we are to take the argument. Literally speaking, that is all he is saying, yes. However, I believe (it is only an opinion) that it goes deeper. So yes. Blame vs. taunt. We can't be sure of the dude's intent, and we can read further into it or not. I think even in it's most simplistic form, it's a very fine (and dangerous) line... (Dangerous because it will piss off a lot of angry feminists!! ) Thats because you're a woman. Men can read a piece of text or hear someone talk and get the message being portrayed. Whereas women always, without exception find some hidden meaning or read something between the lines. Usually something that happens to fit their world view/mental state at that moment. Men, for the most part, are fairly straightforward and say what they mean with plain words. Women on the other hand talk a lot and assume that the receiver can decipher their mental state and the true uncommunicated meaning behind their words. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

AH-HA! I finally agree with MOST of what you wrote. The main difference is that there very much is an undertone of "be careful - if you only knew"... In my mind, the worst that could happen isn't just SEX - that's obvious. I think it's continuously hinted that women are provoking men. And call it feminist bullshit all you want - it is *exactly* the same kind of rhetoric that has been used for AGES to justify all kinds of crap and put the blame on women. I'm not keen to drag this into SC, so I will refrain from commenting on how religion treats women, forever blaming her for all kinds of sins... OBVIOUSLY I don't know what it's like to be a man... And OBVIOUSLY you don't understand what it's like to be a woman, either. This kind of bullshit blame-the-women annoys me. You say its blaming, I say its taunting. The way I hear it, he is saying that men have the sinful, lustful ideas in their heads that they have to deal with. And women can either make mens life easier or harder with their behavior. He is simply asking for some understanding and help with his struggles against his natural urges. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

If a person chooses to spend their life fighting their own nature and convincing themselves that experiencing physical pleasure is sinful, well I dont get it, but more power to them. If they go further and start to require others to make their silly journey less difficult, well, too bad for them. Choosing a difficult path is just fine until you start blaming others for the fact that its difficult. Did you listen to the video? Its not directed to secular folks. Its directed to religious/catholic women. Other people who have chosen his way of life. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

Did you listen to the video??? The narrator went on and on and on and on about how men have (aggressive) impulses and urges and how WOMEN SHOULD DRESS APPROPRIATELY to deal with this problem. That tells me he blames women for "taunting" men. And completely makes the man blameless because he is dealing with "urges". It pretty blatantly *suggests* the woman is at fault for whatever happens to her as a result of *her* behaviour. I don't think I missed the point at all. I think the point is stupid. I had to re-listen to it to make sure we've been watching the same video. Then I realized that your comments are a combination of two things: a) you viewing the world through your rose colored glasses (feminist indoctrination) b) you being woman, unable to understand what it is like to be a man His basic point is that all men want to fuck all the time. For most thats not a problem but him being a catholic with some fairly strict ideas about sexuality, it is a problem since him fucking every chick would make him a failure in the eyes of his god. Therefore women dressing provocatively is like waving a bottle of scotch in front an 'ex'-drunk. Its unethical behavior. The only part about aggression was the bit: "The thing that women do not seem to fully grasp is that the temptation towards lust does not stop for us as men. It is continual, it is aggressive, it does all it can to lead men down to death." Where you completely, again, misunderstood what he is saying due to the words he is using and the mind associations these words cause due to the aforementioned reason a). He is not talking about sexual aggression. He is saying that the urge to fuck everything that moves, is an aggressive thought, a though that is invasive and something he cannot escape. Which is probably very problematic if you see promiscuous behavior as sinful, lustful, bad behavior. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

You two dumbasses completely missed the point of the video. Its not about the dude having urges to rape all wimminz who dressy slutty. Its about a religious persons difficulties from keeping himself from committing 'sin' because women dress provocatively and therefore failing in the eyes of his god. Its kind of sad that I need to, as an atheist, explain something so obvious. Your rights end where my feelings begin.

I've never used an iPhone so I don't know this, but is this due to the device or the people using the device? What I mean is does the device somehow mysteriously auto correct the text written in a way that the user cannot affect the outcome? Or are the people using the device so ADHD that they've never heard of the concept of proof reading what you've written? Your rights end where my feelings begin.

Does the guy who needs this therapy realize that acting like a nice-guy is a problem that needs fixing? Kind of like you can't help a drunk get sober unless they themselves realize they have a drinking problem, the nice-guy needs to realize that his niceness is a problem that needs fixing. Yes, I have it on my laptop for testing programs that I write in XP as well as 7. So you do realize that its basically poor man's virtualization running a full blown XP and technically speaking you could argue that you've installed XP onto that machine, even though its not running on it natively. Sure, if by "poor man's" you mean someone who's willing to shell out the extra $ to buy the Professional, Enterprise or Ultimate versions, then sure. The price difference between 64-bit OEM Home Premium and Pro was about 40 eur (~ 60 usd) when I bought it for my desktop which is not that much. Especially considering that VMware Workstation license is about 190 usd, although far more versatile, is somewhat of an overkill if you just want to test stuff on XP. I'm guessing the whole 'what you would you look past' is about something that would generally be considered a negative quality that you're willing to accept because you're desperate. Well the problem is that everything is relative. For instance I would never even attempt to date someone who uses alcohol/tobacco whereas for most other people thats a total non-issue. you have completely misunderstood either the question asked or the role of that app you linked I have no idea what you were asking or what kind of answer you wanted since I figured that if you're so computer illiterate that you can't figure out if its running XP or 7 that there is nothing I can do to help you. The link was more about nitpicking about the fact that if a computer has 7 in it then it can't be running XP. Just FYI, its called 'XP Mode' on Windows 7 virtual PC. Note the MODE part. While it is still basically Windows XP, there are some differences (though, I haven't done a whole lot of testing to figure it out). It was designed to allow people to keep using their legacy programs on a Windows 7 machine, not to be a full operating system. Have you actually installed in onto a Windows 7 and tried it out (XP Mode)? Your rights end where my feelings begin.
