Zennie, thanks for the tip. Ill talk it over with my instructor and see what he says. Hes seen what ive done, knows what i understand. I dont want to just go and try it cause i dont want to get injured or anything. The canopy that Im flying is much different from the canopy youre flying. Dont want me to end up like that little arcade amphibian FROGGER. lol. thanks again. much appreciated. I want a way to come in slower. seems like i got sensory overload when i realized how quickly the ground was approaching (not to mention that parked plane i thought i was gonna become one with). about hunting and deerstands vs. skydiving... this winter we had a hunter fall out of a tree stand about 8am. nobody realized this until he was found around 3pm. the man ended up breaking his back I believe. I know that he had to be helicoptered out and was really critical. He laid there in the snow for 7 hours before he was found. I dont know of any skydivers who went down and werent found almost immediately, with the exception of those un reported plane flights at the beginning of the year and a base jump or two. SKydivers around here land in the trees, they dont fall out of em! Maybe we could teach the hunters how to stay put. anyone finding this offense, remember what i do, that should explain the sick sense of humor. froggie

I know that what i just said was a little corny, yes, but everything else (the trips out to the dz with no return back) only served to make this that more awesome of a day huh? zenni, ive got a band that you might like. you can download their music for free on MP3.com. the bands name is zymotic flow. dark, moody, highly emotional. a great band to listen to as you sit around drinking a few beers. Plus, (sheeplish plug) my cousins in that band and I listen to his music a lot. My favorite nights out are when i go to the bar to listen to them play. great stuff. Makes me feel what my cousin has felt when I hear the lyrics to a song that he wrote.. Im big on the family thing but my tolerance for shitty music isnt. so thats how i know that thiers is good. froggie

hey guys! this has nothing to do with skydiving but i wanna share anyway! okay. i had to run two 12 hour shifts today. last night 6pm to 6am this morning then 6am this morning until 6pm. The crew that i had today was a different crew. one that i never ran ambulance duty with. But our crew chief (ie: the one in charge) didnt know that he was on duty so he didnt show up.. my chief decided to let this day be a learning experience for me and made me the crew chief. He wanted to see how i could handle a new situtation. well, handle it I did! I just took charge like ive watched my crew chief do so many times before. Treating, driving, radio contact with dispatch, police and additional units...everything. I even got some training in for the new guy, hes been an EMT for about 9 months but hes new to our squad and had some learning to do. BUt he did great. we worked magnificently together. And today was only the second time that we ever ment. I dont know how to describe this feeling. I had obstacles to overcome like deciding the priority of the call, if paramedics were needed, how to handle different scenes, detailed reports to the ER staff... a whole lot of things. But I was able to do it. And that just makes me happy as hell. :) :) :) :) I just got done talking to my ambulance chief and he said "you showed me a lot today, you really proved yourself" oh man, next to "5 minute call!" thats the best thing ive heard in a long time :) ah well. i wanna go be happy and tell my mom about my exausting day (7 calls since 3:15 am). THanks for being here and listening to me blab on and on. :) EMT froggie (lol)
