hey all. Some of you know my story, but some dont. For those who arent aware of what happened to me to make me decide to jump... WEll, heres it in the really short form. Bad times in my life caused me to really be a low person. One day I had an awkening (not my choise) and that event really changed my life. it took me some time to realize that I had two options.. I could continue sinking, or i could swim. Well, i was tired of sinking so i began to swim like hell for the safehaven that is shore. A year to the day after my awakening i found myself springing out of bed at 8am, ready to make some new memories of that date! Before i knew it i was standing in the doorway of a plane, looking down at a very tiny but vast ground. My Tandem JM was great. he made the experience one of the best of my life. Luckily for me, that same JM just coached me thru my first solo freefall yesterday. And that made that jump that much more special. Doug really changed my life, if it wasnt for his words of calming wisdom, and his great attitude, i might not have enjoyed my first skydive., and i wouldnt have found myself jumping by myself yesterday. A few other things factored into it too... I had decided to jump on the one year anniv. and it happened that i ran into an old friend who was now a tandem JM at the local DZ. I ment another friend thru him, and that friend has become very dear to me. So I guess it only took four guys (one of them an evil bastard) to get me up in the sky the first time. Im greatful that i ment all of them, cause the four of them together have changed my life for the better. graceful landings :) froggie

hey guys. thanks for all the happy thoughts. I had an awesome day today and couldnt wait to get home and share it with all of yous. the story was barely out of my mouth (to my mom) before i was logging on. :) Im going to go and stalk some of the really experienced jumpers at the dz this week, and pick brains like monkeys do flees from eachothers bodies! ew, what an expression. in any case, i wanna learn! and i wanna learn a lot! thanks for all the support, hopefully my next landing will be a bit more "gracefull", but even if it isnt, i still know that the ride will be awesome. I have PLFed and I loved it! lol. and i thougth that id hate them. Lots to learn, and im ready to get started. thanks all for making this addiction that much stronger. i love yas for it. froggie

hehe. Just remember, i do not dance alone. So if im out there dancing away to Build me up Buttercup., youll be right wiht me... that is if you dont fall flat on your face on the way out there. Just watch out for those steps Stac, they tend to like to trip you :) I think i might put glow in the dark stickers on them or something else to draw you attention down so you watch where youre walking. hehe. froggie

ROFLMAO. hehe. i didnt even think of the "first jump from a king Air" or "first jump on a monday" hehe. the monday thing wont work but the king air one..well, like i said, im buying Canals Discount Liqs so its all good :) The PLF landing was a bit revized. I sort of created my own. ROFLMAO. I loved every second of it! And my PLF landing, or whatever that was, was my absolute favorite part! Who'da think it that my favorite part was wiping out?!? :) Oh man, but next time im definitally aiming for the actuall field. And ill try and do my PLF landing the correct way! hey all. Just made my level one skydive and it was hilarious. Pammi, watch out girl cause youve got some competition! ROFLMAO. Okay, started off great. I wasnt afraid or anxious after we got into the plane. I spent a majority of the ride to alti going through the skydive. Exit was really descent. Gained (and lost) my arch a few times :) but from exit to when I actually leveled out felt really good. Did my COA and my three practice pulls okay. Started potato chipping and forgot to do my toe taps. (damn legs. couldnt keep them out far enough. Trying to do the PRP's was hilarious. I tried to compensate for reaching but that only sent me face down. hehe. But it was great. I loved every second of it. Got a little disoriented and really freaged up my pull atli. But i did eventually pull (were not gonna discuss what the alti was when I finally got situated. Lets just say that I wasnt THAT low.) Flying under canopy was awesome! Except when I first opened and couldnt find the DZ (when in doubt, turn around :) Cause of the low opening Doug landed off the DZ and then radioed to me that I wasnt making it back either. He talked me down and landed me on the opposite side of the runway, in between two rows of planes. Made the mistake of fixating on the planes, thinking I was flying right into them. But i trust doug and knew he wouldnt make me one wiht the plane. ALl of a sudden the ground was right up on me. Only did a half flare so I hit the ground at about (dougs estimate) 10 M.P.H. I reinvented the PLF landing.I did a sort of belly flop onto the grass then Belly down, I slid a nice distance. Jumped up and all I could say was "that landing was freagin awesome! It didnt even freagin hurt! oh my god! that was freagin great! Doug! that didnt even freagin hurt! oh my god!" Then i gained control of myself and stood up and gathered up my shit. A nice fellow from the DZ came and picked us up. SO all in all, I did my first solo skydive (with one JM), First off target landing (way off),and I invented a new PLF landing. So, Stacy, prepare yourself honey, cause Im buying Canal's this weekend ! IT WAS FREAGIN AWESOME!!! froggie, the grass slider

jtval, aw. i feel your pain :( Went thru ground school last week but couldnt jump cause of the damn snow. Was gonna try and jump level 1 yesterday but that didnt happen. Woke up today, thinking "i can jump!" got out to the dz and stacy told me that they were on a 100 jump minimum cause of the winds. Hung out for a few hours but then i headed home. Stacy, please call if I can jump! hehe. wishful thinking. damned winds. maybe the winds will die down soon? I can only hope. froggie

AIF is probably IAF (instructor assisted freefall). It gets confusing, and its easy to see how you could get AIF and IAF confused. Ive said it AIF a hell of a lot before. froggie

with all this talk about sensless getting cancelled i wrote to troy and offered him our support (flooding mtv with emails begging not to take sensless off the air). He wrote back and said that things dont look good for senseless and that mtv just doesnt know real programming (senseless) from crappy programing (somebody doesnt like some of the mtv proggrams. hehe) to put it in his words "We'll just let them have their crap and we'll keep making some cool shows elsewhere" so this isnt the last weve seen of troy and his crazy skydiving stunts on prime time! yeah. screw mtv. all i want is my skydiving program wiht the hottie host, no matter what channel airs it.. hey, at least this means kimberly (the winee pain in the ass) is gone. lol. sorry, the girl annoys me. just figured an update was in order. at least we will still have skydiving on tv, just not sure what station. froggie

On my third tandem I almost puked all over my TM. We were under canopy and he wanted to do a few right spins. they didnt bother me. It was when we turned left that it really got to me. All i could do was to tell him that i was aobut to throw up. Oh yeah. heres another thing.... I always feel the need to spit after freefall, when were under canopy. It might be because its always been ass cold outside and i get all gross feeling ? seeing how this is not a shy sport (do i have any hangers? :) I always asked my TM's which way to spit so that i didnt nail either of us. Three times, three succesful loogies hocked and none have landed on either of us. Oh man, why am i sharing this? hehe. froggie

Zennie, Guess he really is a descent guy. Ive talked to a few people that have written him an email and hes always gotten back to them. I thought the same thing. "he actually wrote back and it wasnt one of those dumb auto response emails." But thats how our sport is, people are just cool . Sure, we have our skygods but the number of chillen famous skydivers is higher. froggie

maybe the person has more than one rig? maybe they have access to more than one rig? Cause if this is the case, and they know that they got the one container say 6 months ago and then maybe proly jumped about 100 times since those six months, then they might figure that about half or more of the jumps were on the one rig? I dont know. just like trying to solve riddles like this one. froggie

Sensless is a great show. Not only does it take skydiving to a whole new level, with the use of pianos and bombs and cars in freefall but it also shows the lighter side of skydiving. Troys always smiling, always happy. Dont really know what it is, maybe its the skydiving, maybe its the cute host (troy not that chick) maybe its the shots. Maybe its the cool shots of the hottie skydiver! hehe. Yeah, that works, all of those things wrapped into one.
