Clay, do you really mean, the shorter the recovery arc the safer you are? Blues Marcus Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Matt, everything's true. And please. Check your gear. Tighten your loop. Don't use ROL because the wind could snap the bridle and open your pod. Fasten your straps tighter than usual. Be sure the leg straps can't slip unto your knees. If you wear a jumpsuit, be sure the zipper is secured so it can't open when you are zooming through space. Get an audible like the pro-dytter or pro-track. Wear a helmet. Tell the others what you plan to do in freefall, you will kind of need quite a lot of space for yourself. Don't try too hard - but try again. Talk to freefly instructors, to everyone at your dz who seems to be involved in freeflying. Everyone - beginner or pro - can give you something you could need. Share your experience. Jump as often as you can. You will learn that you'll never stop learning. That's great ;-) Stay calm. Breathe. Relax. And have fun! Blues Marcus

Exactly this is the whole secret. Relax.... breathe... stay calm... concentrate on your relaxed breathing and at the same time keep tension in your muscles... let things happen... smooth... and allow yourself getting surprised ;-)))) Blues Marcus

This is a letter from Dominique Marcu to friends and dealers. What's really going on at PdF is in the moment not really known but rumour. Blues Marcus "Dear Friends, This Monday I was fired from my position at PDF after a vote of our Board of Directors. All this without a cent. It also resulted in the firing of Monique, my lovely wife, the next day. I created the company 29 years ago and I believe I brought some good things to skydivers and to the industry. The company made losses (small) for the past years. There are many reasons and strategic choices behind that. And at the end the success is there. We generated markets and products for the next ten years and profit will pour into the company from this year. All this was explained to the board of Directors. But I had an enemy inside the Zodiac Group (our major shareholder). Unfortunately I spend so much time working and I forgot politics- My very genuine mistake. The guy made a smoke screen to hide the good things and show the bad things. I lost. And the ending is very rude for me and even more for Monique. You know that PDF experienced problems during the past months with deliveries and poor communication. I worked a lot with my Team on that and we finally succeeded in controlling the situation. The new delivery statements, additional manufacturing facilities and many other improvements were implemented to make our relationships better than ever. Unfortunately I did not have the time to complete this. It was very difficult to work and at the same time fight for my rights. I wish to express to all of you my very sincere thanks for the business we enjoyed together during the past years. You supported our brands and in some countries Distributors achieved a terrific work. Some of you are closer friends than others and they will understand how bad I feel. I am now working on a new project in the parachute area. It is a very exciting one and a great challenge. I hope to be able to tell you more very soon. Please forget my previous E-mail address and use the new one: dominiquemarcu@hotmail.com. I will soon have a more professional E-mail address. Again, thank you all for those nice years of co-operation. Blue Skies. Dominique Marcu"

I haven't jumped the Super 7 but from the people who did I haven't heard anything negative about it. It has a really amazing small pack volume. Blues Marcus

Vallerina & all the others who are interested in this: On John Kallend's website you find some great resources regarding this topic. There is also a power point presentation that everyone should know who is interested in exit order, separation and freefly or rw first or vice versa or whatever :-) Blues Marcus

No, the PdF Merit is not popular in Europe ;-) PdF even doesn't produce it anymore and replaced it with the Electra, a slightly semi-elliptical novice/intermediate canopy, and it's mixed ZP top surface and F 111 like the Silhouette. Btw the Merit is known for hammer openings. Blues Marcus

Yes: http://www.jump.to/wolmari - then click on "wolmari pack". Marcus

Oooooops. !!! I promise to reading any post AFTER breakfast in the future. Marcus
-
Dan, this is quite vague. Can you give any reasons/arguments/proofs for this? Thanks very much blues Marcus

Hi, a really good working thing to avoid line-overs is learning the wolmari-pack because stuffing the tail under your canopy may get the lines in front of it - which may cause a line-over. To learn more about wolmari-pack and to see pictures of how to do it go to wolmaris website or talk to someone at your dz who is familiar with packing this way. Blues Marcus

Don't psycho your Crossfire. The Icarus Europe rep Sascha told me not to psycho pack it because the Crossfire is designed to open slowly (trim and leading edge design). A Psycho pack opens more slowly than a pro pack in the first third of the opening process. Icarus tells their customers to use a normal pro pack. Nevertheless I jumped my CF once using a psychopack. I won't do that again Marcus
