It depends. The best I found about this in the web is the power point-presentation on John Kallend's website: Go there or download it here: "Power point presentation on separation" Blues Marcus -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

You're so damn right... money makes the talent. 2 of my pals started the same time 4 years ago, one has around 700 jumps now, the other made his 2000th last year. No comment ;-))) Blues Marcus -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

No please - please not ;-) Make sure you get vertical separation - in this case a zooming headdowner who can't see you is just threatening your life. Fact. Blues Marcus -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Don't cork. Don't absorb the impact (have a look at the fatality reports --> Ampuria Brava last year). Get faster making yourself as small as possible. This is my opinion, but I think it's the only way to really protect yourself in this case. Blues Marcus -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

I get PM's all the time twice or three times... and 10 minutes later "oops sorry this wasn't my intention" *lol* blues guys Marcus -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

No shit, that reminds me of that girl at my dz coming along "wooohooo! I just got my brand new rig!". And when I asked what brand it was she said "What the f*** - it's yellow!!!" -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Lisa, I think that's too right - but where are the reasons for that? Have we lost our senses of responsibility because we know "it's getting repacked in x days either..."? Or is it a question of training and education? Have instructors to insist on better skills when it comes to maintain/check your rig? Please discuss: Some countries must have their reserve repacked all 120 days, others all 180 days, some all 360 days. Here in Germany since last November reserves have to be repacked once a year all 360 days by licensed riggers/reserve packers only who also have to inspect the main canopy. You are not allowed anymore to pack your reserve for yourself if you're not licensed to. The big manufacturers say they don't see any argument that would speak against the 360 day repack cycles. So, what argument is there why reserves have to be repacked all 120 or 180 days? Is it a "money thing"? Habitual? Old laws? ... You mean "Hefeweizen"?! However, quite amusing to read your German knowledge ;-))) If you all are laughing the same about my English I should better stop posting... ?! blues guys Marcus :-)) -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

I really don't know anyone who is satisfied with his JVC. Sony seems to rule the market. I have a PC 100 and PC 5 and I'm more than happy with them. They work as I expect them to do. Blues Marcus -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

The Skytronic and the Skytronic Pro both are too expensive (I don't want to say they are shit). Parasport Italia is allergic against customer service (I don't want to say they don't care). Just my personal experience - and from many friends. Larsen & Brusgaard products are awesome, precisely built, and worth every single cent. Besides of that L & B provide you with more than excellent customer service. You can't make anything wrong with investing more money into a Pro Dytter or Pro Track. > whats the difference between the 0.42 and 0.45? The wide angle effect is stronger with the .42 as with the .45. The .45 does not have the fish eye effect. And the vignetting, you don't have any if you zoom the lens in a bit. Blues Marcus -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull
-
Yes, I think the .45 is a very good and adequate choice for many freefall situations especially freeflying and tandem video. The .42 is better for bigways and "macro-close-up", though. Blues Marcus -- Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Check this out: Diamond .3 wide angle lens - seems to be awesome! If anyone has more info about that thing - please post! I use a HAMA .45 on a Sony PC 4 and a HAMA digital .5 on a PC 100 and I'm very satisfied with the results. They are lightweighted and not too expensive. Gruezi Ueli, auf jeden Fall ein gebrauchtes. Lass dir kein neues andrehen. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull
