Pardon me while I demonstrate my ignorance... I was under the impression that the application (signed by appropriate instructor) was actually a D-license, and the applicant had the option of mailing it with the $20 to the USPA to have it recorded, get another USPA logo sticker, and recieve a license number, in case the person lost his application(license). Just out of curiosity, am I wrong here? -- Give them a sip of the darkside, and they just thirst for more.

I have possible solution, maybe... I was an airplane driver before I started jumping, and know that the FAR's do allow some maintenance to be performed by the owner of the aircraft. Maybe there is a way to get such a clause included in the TSO for the three rings, to allow the owner/operator of a parachute system to perform such maintenance tasks that do not require a riggers license. Or am I just way off here? -- Give them a sip of the darkside, and they just thirst for more.

Agreed, how fun would it be if it was easy and everybody could do it right away? I'm still new at freeflying, and just doing solos and teaching myself sit/stand/headdown, about 2 weeks ago I finally nailed a stable headdown, was such a feeling of accomplishment, and made me forget all the times I've tried it and failed -- Give them a sip of the darkside, and they just thirst for more.

Hrm, this is a difficult one. .3:3:2 .3 for the f-ed up stuff that happened which is the closest I have gotten to having anything in the first column in a while. I'm still at a loss of how to put it into words 3 for the three jumps I made this weekend (of course) the initial jump was a 3 way belly which was pretty cool, second was a 4 way belly, third was a 4 way belly that started out as a three-way mudflap grip headdown. The other two tried to release but the HD was so cool I just grabbed and held on to enjoy for a bit. Beer for first 3-way head down off a 182, and first night jumps (but that was Thursday, so should I include it?) -- Give them a sip of the darkside, and they just thirst for more.

You can subscribe to AvFlash at http://www.avweb.com and get them sent in a two times per week aviation newsletter. Pretty much the only reason I get it, along with "Short Final" on Mondays.
