  1. I don't know what strength they are, I'm sure Dan could answer that. I'm sure there's nothing to be concerned about, it's just another style of soft link, there are many on the market these days. Odd, the links that came with my Cobalt looked like the Precision links (with the metal ring) and could be (and were) triple wrapped. So far as the brakes coming not stitched in the future, I think that will be much nicer than having to pick all the stitching out to lengthen the brakes. -- Hook high, flare on time
  2. Argh, I want blue Skybands... Where'd you get them from? Square 1? I got them from Ralph the Skyband dude. I'm sure they got 'em at Perris, or call GroundZero at Elsinore. Doh, just found the email address and phone number on the info sheet from my last bag. Thanks -- Hook high, flare on time

  11. Yeah, it's a pretty good video, I haven't gotten around to reading the book yet (I should) I think I'll watch the video again tonight -- Hook high, flare on time
  12. Funny, in videos from the past couple of weeks people have been commenting that my legs are too close together, so I've been working on spreading them more. They say it's more stable, but right now for me it's more shakey -- Hook high, flare on time

    SKY RAY

Interesting, that looks a lot different than the Skyray (attached) that I've seen. Wonder if it is a new design by the same company, or a different company's project -- Hook high, flare on time
  17. Out of curiosity, was the pilot using any flaps on jump run, and does the pilot wear a bailout rig? Glad everything turned out ok for you -- Hook high, flare on time
  18. Hey, I just tried looking through the past few issues for this out of curiosity, and didn't see anything. -- Hook high, flare on time
  19. Seems a little light. If you're out the door at 200 lbs, that means you're jumping a 12 sq ft parachute. Oh, you must be using the new math 200/12 = 16.67:1 Profile says he's jumping a 189, and I'm guessing he meant 1.06 (?) -- Hook high, flare on time
  20. So basically, you think it's wrong that he percieves the drinking and partying as "counter productive and adolescent" and you percieve " If you do more drugs than that..." to me it seems that you are saying the same thing, except your line of tolerance extends a little bit further than his does. -- Hook high, flare on time

    Innovative ideas

I think parachutes are reaching the point pretty soon when they'll need to land on runways, using roller skates. I think this would have lots of advantages. Add a tail and some wheels, and you've got yourself a hell of a parachute. Now someone go figure it out! Writing this down in my things to do notebook. I don't think a runway would be a very good choice for landing with roller skates because of the slope/crown of the runway, and they are generally a bit rough to rollerblade on. But the local DZ has a little private "taxiway" for Ag Sprayers that is smooth, flat, and generally unused. Now I just have to think of how to exit a 182 on rollerblades, and get someone to video it...
