QuoteYou can't do much with only 300 hours of flight time. Quote Les see. Air Force student pilots go from basically zero flight time to flying a supersonic T-38C in oh, about 180hrs..... Ultimately graduating to move on to a faster weapon system (ie. F-15/16) with a grand total of not much more than 300 hrs...... And, there are many civilian flying programs in the US that can almost match that type of efficiency in moving a student pilot thru the ratings with excellent training.

Given any thought of military flight training? Just a possible.....
-
I'll point you to DiverDriver. He's probably got the answer. But, with a very structured flight training program (a recognized flt trng program) that includes tons of crew/cockpit resource management, you'd be surprised at the opportunities that may exist for a 300 hr pilot. Good luck.....and go kick some butt and do something I should've done in my youth...

Z-28s, right?! el camino (no shit) at at least one site .... Nope, not using El camino's anymore. Just two years ago, I rode in a Z-28 up and down the Beale AFB runway chasing U-2's for 2 hours...... BTW, the ejection seat and cockpit avionics package have had extensive updates over the years. Almost a glass cockpit.... Peace to our fallen.....blue skies.........

the lower you pull the longer the snivel... so be carefull... try pulling at terminal velocity at 9,000 ft. the opening will be much quicker. Does the altitude really affect how fast the opening will be? I've heard something about G forces at the higher altitudes, but not snivel time at the low end...... I need some edumacating.........thanks

Does your college club allow anyone to jump? If not, then I think it's a great idea of a roving tandem op as it would afford those types to jump. The DZ i used to fly for did that on more than one occasion. We had tons of fun flying north almost to Dallas, and south to the beach, doing tons of tandems.........
-
If possible, keep more than one pilot in the stable...? And if it wasn't your fault, post a message in the classifieds telling every other DZ about the guy good ruck.........

Could you please define the meaning of "real world" for me? I'm at such a loss........

well, if I see her come by my office, I'll have to say hello for you. But with our current backlog on getting crews into orbit, I find it HIGHLY unlikely I'll ever see her here.........peace

AND can you believe Paula Zahn on CNN had this future T-bird pilot in a poll for "person of the day"??! against a Silver Star recipent! and a Hero Firefighter..!!!!!!!! Makes me freakin ill how the media sees things.......... Here's the poll: VIEWERS' CHOICE THE PERSON OF THE DAY Jersey City detective Mike Gullace, for using his body to shield two children from gunfire two weeks before his retirement; Army Sgt. Leigh Ann Hester, for being awarded the Silver Star and for being the first woman to be so honored in 60 years; Air Force Capt. Nicole Malachowski, for being named the first female Thunderbird pilot.

Beerlight replied to Vallerina's topic in The Bonfire
At first I thought you meant a "coin check"..... Guess it's just a military thing.... So, why ya wanna give up caffeine??? It's my only vice.......plus it has some decent benefits when used in moderation.... -

BTW, there "is" an airway virtually over the top of Eloy. Both high and low. I don't have time to look it up. Ask your local pilots about it......... -
Although I retired 1.5 yrs ago from the AF, I believe that program for first termers is still in effect. Call MPF customer service and if they don't know, check with your shirt. One of my troops used it to PCS out from under my iron hand I was on Hickam about a week ago. Traffic SUCKED ass on the island, but what a great assignment that would be! Wingnut prolly put down some of the best choices. But, sounds like your current base is enjoyable to you. Maybe ride it out........

ah......good luck! That write-up was initially written with our pilot brethren in mind....

My GF (also an H-towner) has been coughing for 2 solid weeks! What gives? But luckily, she hasn't transferred that crud to me.....yet. Should I be worried? Is it the dreaded "whooping cough"? Well that's it, I'm kicking her to the curb after work...

Anyone know what Mike Mullins uses to spot with in the King Air? Although I think he has some zen magic thing going on, and can prolly do it without any avionics assistance!
