Anyone know the conditions/status of Interstate 10 eastbound from Beaumont, TX to Gulfport, MS? I've contacted AAA and the DOT and not much luck... Any info mucho appreciated. Buck

Or for those that remember, they could lift out the evacuees with the "Fulton Recovery System" on the MC-130.......... now that was badass!!!

And a C-17 drop is very automated. Let the FMS handle the equations, will put the load on target almost every time.... edited for: I can't fukin spell!

Better check again. When I flew Crazy Horse in '95 it was $1650/hour...when I talked to Lee in 2001 it had gone up to $2500/hour. Holy shit!! Guess I'll just take the ride in the B-17 then But, the P-51 would still be an experience even with it being $2500...

QuoteOne more thing - the dropzone did survive.Quote Laurel, How's the general condition of the airport? Runways, taxiways, ramp, etc.?? As soon as they lift the TFR around Biloxi, me and a friend are loading his Beech Baron with equipment/supplies and fly in there. Currently our flight plan is on file, but not approved as of yet. In case of any specific requirements (other than food/water), let me know and will see what we can do....... Thanks and God bless, Buck Buchanan

What's your price range? This is what I'm lining up for Oshkosh in 06'. https://www.stallion51.com/ Last I checked it was running over $1500 for a one hour........but what an experience. But, for approx. $350 you could get him a one hr in an Extra 300 or a Pitts......?

Nav trng for you??? If so, I'm fairly confident you will be prohibited from jumping until your class graduates. If P-cola is a permanent duty station, then like the other guy said, attend the safety brief for high risk sports/activites, fill out the form, have your commander sign off and then your home free....

Yep, it's $9100 with TT &L. Plus, I'm sure I'll talk him off that price also...... Bike sales have slowed down in Houston.......

That is the most high performance "comfy" bike you can buy. It's a tuned down, carburated, R1 engine. It's been voted the best naked bike like 3 years in a row. If you want a fast, light, nimble bike but don't want to sacrifice comfort than that is definitely the bike for you. If you want the fastest, lightest, latest & greatest get the R1 Thanks. Out the door price is $9100, but think I'll NOT pay top dollar.......
-
And you definitely weren't talking "air traffic controller".....were ya? I agree with JDHill, go over to legal and let them help you out. Which AFSC did they drop you in the meantime?
-
Wanna hijack for a minute. I looked over a 2005 FZ1 today.....drool formed.... Anybody have any negatives/positives for this bike...?? Thanks, Buck

Parasail Skydiving Training (Military)?
Beerlight replied to Elisha's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yes, the U.S. Air Force and Navy currently utilize land parasailing for training new student pilots on how to control a round canopy and performing proper PLF's. I ought to know, I ran the parasail program (aka parachute familiarization training program) at Columbus AFB, MS from 1997 to 2003. For any further questions you can google the Air Force Instruction which governs the program: AETCI 36-2224. http://www.aetc.randolph.af.mil/im/pub/afpdl/publications/aetcpubs/aetcins/aetci36-2224.pdf We used a 300 rope and pulled the students behind a pickup truck to an altitude of approx. 150 feet before the operator on the truck released the rope. That's probably cause she went out with the pilot!!!

Painful Pressure Buildup During Freefall. HELP!!
Beerlight replied to robconway's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
QuoteYou need to clear you ears every 3000 feet or so on the way up to altitude. Do this by holding your nose and gently blowing to unblock the one way valve in your eustation Quote Sorry to say, but that is totally incorrect. Your ears clear automatically on ascent. It's descent where you have to do something..... ie, yawning, swallowing, valsalva...etc..... -
heck, you are right!
