  5. Yep, guess the jump planes won't have a problem!!!!!!!
  6. Looks awesome!! I overflew "near" it early this morning (no, no jump planes in the air yet) on my way south for some practice approaches...... Guess mud will NOT be an issue at next years Skyfest! Should've taken an pic of it, but didn't have my camera.. Beerlight
  7. Technically, that plane feels nothing...... at least initally on the descent...
  8. My ex-wife's cat was a great scorpion hunter... We would wake up in the morning, and always found a few dead ones... btw, like everyone said, always check your shoes! Scorp's also crawl up walls! I was lucky living in South Texas, and never got stung.... Good luck
  9. Hmmm...... so one employee (or a couple) can cut a line or two, and bam, LA no power...... Yep, I feel secure
  10. No....nadda....nope....... I woke up the other morning at my GF's place (she has a cat), and noticed him standing on MY pillow. Then I remember earlier I heard him digging around in his litter box full of crap.... I'll pass on the smelly house/apartment.....
  11. Off topic but, who crashed the Super Puma in NOLA yesterday? And I just noticed a red, white and blue Blackhawk and a SeaKnight landing in Baton Rouge. Whose running those?
  12. well, that's just one way to kinda get the feel of it... ie proper sight pic above the canopy rail...etc..etc.... Main thing, try not to worry about how others did..... I was 16 when I soloed.... things came easy... Bet if I tried it now at 41, things wouldn't come so easy
  13. What helped me the most: My instructor told me to fly it down the runway, slow as I could, just above stall, but to NOT touch down. All the way down the longest runway you have. (ours was 11,500 feet, so plenty). It puts you in the proper landing attitude, gives you a nice sight picture. And before you get to the end (you hope), slowly pull the power off, and walla, landings became easy as pie for me.....
  14. I'm with Kallend on this one.......I soloed in 6 hrs even with around 40 landings...... Keep your chin up, and remember it's su'posed to be fun!!! Buck
  15. QuoteThat's execllent, but what with American beer being so close to water in the first place........... (I'll get my coat)Quote Evidently, you haven't had a "Shiner" yet......... "Bring your people to Texas, bring em all......."
  16. Ah, that's just fucked!!! I wanna go, i wanna go!!! Rare Bear gonna be there this year?
  17. QuoteI just checked and NASA has used DC-9s for this purpose.Quote We, uh, haven't really used our C-9 (a la DC-9) as of yet.... Experiencing a few anomaly's with the fuel system and the damn cargo door..... I'll be on it as soon as the kinks are worked out..
  18. It's just not that easy to drop cargo INTO a city.....with untrained personnel walking around....
  19. Is that a Veragio? My GF is hinting for that.... And Congrats!
  20. Your thinking of Skip Holm, but I'm really not sure if he was the pilot that crashed in that scene....... I'll have to do some research I guess......
