Off work already? While I sit and make sales calls I will be jealous Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein

I'm in no way intending to sound negative, but I'm an admitted perfectionist who did 12 paper pulls during IAD so I'm allowed to say... If you expect that every jump will be 'perfect'... HAHAHAHAHAHA Go. Jump. Expect that you will not perform 'perfectly' on every jump. Expect that you will learn tonnes on every jump. Expect that you will have some amazing experiences that are thrilling and inspiring, and a few that will piss you off. Most of all, go have fun. But if you expect yourself to do something this unfamiliar, while your brain is in overload, in a basically alien environment, in 4 minute increments, and do everything perfectly? You'll be disappointed. Go Have FUN! No one expects perfection until at least your 5th jump. j/k Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein

A triple reason. First the bird, a lovely creature. Second the tendancy of 'snowbird' canucks to head south for the winter, something I'd love to be in a position to do. Third, I've always loved the Snowbirds demo team. When I was first signing up, I tried a dozen usernames with no luck. I had a Snowbird poster from an airshow on my wall, and liked the multiple meanings. Shortly thereafter I acquired the nickname Sheena around the dz. The story involves leopard print underwear. But it was too late, so Snowbird I am. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein

As I recall, she did some theraputic touch on my skull, but didn't touch me anywhere else. Have you ever laid with your eyes closed, in the grass outside in the summer, when it's lovely and warm? No air moving at all, and it's warm enough to raise a light sweat even though you are perfectly still? And then a slight breeze goes by and raises your body hairs, cooling your skin but your muscles stay warm? And then when you open your eyes, all the colours are a bit more vibrant? That's what reiki is like to me. Very calming, clearing, balancing, and centering. Just the thought of it sends a tickle up my neck. Highly recommended. I've had 2 reiki sessions, and would gladly have more. The first one was at a street fair. I laid down, and the woman - a complete stranger - started her thing. For fifteen minutes she worked, occasionally describing all sorts of things she was finding. She caught all sorts of minor injuries that were basically healed, listing out things that were in no way obvious by sight. After the session, I felt like I was walking on clouds for 2 days. And a few days after that, I realised that the tendonitis in my shoulder hadn't bothered me since the session. It never did come back. It's like a Joe Cartoon. Poor kitty. Talk about people jumping to conclusions and not thinking before they act. He told her not to... Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein

Jeanne, are you driving? [insert happy face saying please please please] I want to go, but transportation is an issue. I might be able to get to Washington, and would LOVE to be on the 'play' list. Is anyone else from BC or Washington going? Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein

I'm not a medical-type person, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. There's also the issue of lactic acid build up in your muscles, that comes from anaerobic activity and intense excercise. Drinking water helps flush your system. So does proper stretching. You can also pick up herbal stuff to help, available at most natural health food stores. At boogies and on weekends that I'm doing lots (by my standard!) of jumps - or skiing, biking, hiking - I drink this cold tea made by a company called SunRyder, it helps a lot. Sorry I can't remember the name of the drink off hand. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein

As often as possible I donate blood. Used to give every time a blood drive came through town. These days they only do it by appointment during the drive, you can't just show up, so that has cut down on how often I can get in. I kinda zone out watching the little bag fill up. Takes me forever to fill it up, and the motion is so relaxing... In past years during bad fire seasons, I've gone through my linnens and towels and kitchen stuff, given it to people who've lost their homes. And a bit of cash to help out, when I can. I'm so going to have to listen to a few of these that I've not heard, or haven't heard in awhile. Should keep me entertained for hours! The River - Garth Brooks but I love it no matter who sings it Almost Home - Mary Chapin Carpenter Dust in the Wind - Sarah Brightman Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. And here I thought you must have some fancy techie sci-fi sort of setup. Is that really all there is to it? From whom/how does one go about setting up such a system? Where would I find more info? I'm a bit technology illiterate, but the whole idea of 'unhooking from the grid' is very appealing. Is there a 'Solar Power for Dummies'? I haven't met many .commers, don't PM many either. That said... Michele rocks. Would love to meet you gal! You inspire me. Billvon is someone I always read. Intelligent, frank, I get the feeling he tells it like it is, doesn't play games, and doesn't take crap. Very appreciated. Meunkel. Chris is a guy with a good soul. Scott (sdctlc) I've actually met him at the May Meet. What a great guy! Helpful, friendly, a talented skydiver. And with all his experience, he was willing to jump with a 200 jump wonder (me) and we turned so many points it blew my mind. Betsy! What with the gazillion people she must meet around Eloy, she somehow remembered me from a small handful of brief conversations. A gal to admire for many many reasons. So much for one. How could I pick just one of those people? Huh? How? Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein
