  6. Bad Blonde joke coming..... A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, "Please come over here and help me... I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get it started." Her boyfriend asks, "What's it supposed to be when it's finished?" The blonde says, "According to the picture on the box, it's supposed to be a rooster!" Her boyfriend decides to go over and help. She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread out all over the table. He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says, "First of all, no matter what we do here, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster." He held her hand and said, "Second, I'd advise you to relax. Let's have a cup of coffee, then............. he sighed, let's put all these Corn Flakes back in the box! 9. CSPA (As in Canadian) A#10124. Yes I can type. Different rules, different qualifications. Things like, now I can jump with people who aren't coach 2's, so that I can work on my qualifications for my B. I don't know much about USPA progression, but I've gotten the impression that CSPA is more methodical, with more requirements at the lower licensing levels. 12. Just found essentially the same question in gear and rigging. (shrug) me bad for not looking in there for awhile. Thanks for the answers though! 13. disclaimer... I have not had a major malfunction or even a bad scare, yet. That said, it sounds like you're trying to talk yourself out of doing something you very much want to do. Why fight it? If 6 months on the ground haven't toned down your desire to do it, do you really want to walk away? And no you're not alone in the mood swings. This spring when I was doing my student progression (IAD) I was constantly fighting guilt and anxiety that I wouldn't be able to finish it, that I couldn't afford it, that I was being foolish and selfish. Those feelings were only banished by the next jump. And as a thought, go read Michele's articles in the archive. 14. A question for Those who Know from this newbie... Just something I've wondered about a few times. In Talkback, Deuce talks about how his muscle memory from the 170 doesn't apply to his new 150. Obviously when downsizing there's a lot of re-training your habits and muscle memory to the newer smaller main. Now, I know people with two or three rigs that they jump all the time. So if you have more than one rig and jump all of them regularly - not just while downsizing - what kind of consideration should be given to having different sizes/styles/systems? Is it best to have very similar kits, so that you aren't having to constantly switch how you fly, at the risk of reacting incorrectly? BTW, I'm thinking of this for lower # jumpers, not 1000 jump skygods Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein

Hey, anyone at Eloy this weekend. There are two crazy Canucks heading your way from my way. 24. Exactly! I had a board, and just laughed at it. The thing with my tarot card reading, was that she didn't ask any questions. I introduced myself, we shook hands, she shuffled the deck and launched in to it. The ONLY thing she knew was that I had some sort of tie to skydiving. It was a bunch of us dz gals who got together for an evening of readings, but she didn't know which of us jumped, and which of us didn't. By the time she offered to channel for me, I was too upset and freaked out. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein
  25. Now, I don't know what the local dz's usual policy is, but... When I got my own gear, the attitude was basically 'You own it, you learn to pack it!' I snooped and watched the packers, asked questions, and when I did get my gear I was taught how to pack it. No $ required. And it's required for the CSPA 'A' license.
