Well, I hate to be negative, but I must, once in awhile...but my whole weekend basically sucked ass. I could go into details, but it basically involved 2 key players: my mom and a man I like. Oh yeah, throw a few hard drinks in there and it gets worse. I do suppose it (the weekend) was cool for two reasons: I got to buy a block of 20 jumps (which I've never been able to do before $$) and got a new pair of Da Kine Rags pants for a steal! Didn't get to jump them though. I am in need of a new vRW partner...any takers? The Atlanta Freeflight Festival is coming up!

Well, I've decided that from now on, I will only wonder where I've put my rig and the rest of my gear; not having to worry about who is next to me, because that space will be empty!
-
BillVon, This is exactly why I just LOVE you!! You are totally cool...I can't wait to jump with you next year at the WFFC...wherever it may be!! You better take your love/hate relationship with it wherever it may follow! If however, you don't go, we will work something else out! You're the best!! Well, the less I have to flare the better. My canopy truly only stalls below waist level...I finally figured out how to land the damn thing after 60 some jumps on it...I pull the toggles to waist level, then surf over the ground a bit, then right before my feet touch the ground I give it all I've got and pull 'em down further, maybe 2"...I like days where there is wind so I only have to pull 'em waist or higher...call me lazy...or weak, don't know. LOL Sis Music should trigger some kind of response... - The Chemical Brothers

Well, I jumped in my UFO pants last time I was at the dz because all my other clothes were locked in the car...(along with my helmet, altimeter, etc.) all I had was my rig...so I borrowed an alti and goggles and hit the sky with my ufos and a baby doll tee and tevas on...its fun to just jump with whatever you're already wearing...sort of a freedom thing! Anyway, I won't wear my UFO pants to freefly very much because they won't stand up to it. Yours are a little different than mine however....its the see through plastic ventilation on the sides that I think will go first...although I don't think the seams and stuff will hold up long either. Several people commented on how cool they were but that they won't last. I told them, well I usually wear my patch pants which are a LOT more sturdy but they're sort of "locked up" right now! hehe Sis Music should trigger some kind of response... - The Chemical Brothers

What do you mean "higher"? Lighter toggle pressure or harder? What about the flare? I don't plan on jumping any canopy in weather that is SO bad I would HAVE to have airlocks, but here in Texas anyway (and I don't plan on living anywhere else for a long time) we have "unexpected turbulence" and "thermals" a lot, especially in the summer. You could be flying 2000 feet from the nearest building or tree (not many trees here!) and still get some really bumpy shit! Not every jump, but enough to make you do these things: get used to it, fly in 1/4 to 1/2 brakes and don't panic, and buy a canopy that is very stable in turbulence. My Hornet is very stable in turbulence, I have NO complaints about it. The airlocks DO intrigue me though! I am interested to see what they're like. Its getting colder now, so the air is less bumpy but I should still be able to feel the difference in canopy handling.

lol@rootjoose... are you sure you're not really trying to start the "foundation for circular/flightline tracking society" ?? hehe The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

I don't feel restricted at all...I think most of the "rules" are there to protect me from other people. You DO have the right to choose to jump a 69 square foot canopy, I don't know where THAT came from. I jump a 170, getting ready to downsize to a 150, but if I wanted to, I could order a 107 or something, an Alpha 74, or a Crossfire something or other. As far as min. exit altitude, I never heard of that either. At most dzs, you can get out wherever you want, except maybe 500 feet, because nobody would ever want to, except you maybe? Min. opening altitudes are a GUIDELINE, as are most of the other "rules." Having to wear a rig with a reserve??? Why does that bother you? To the person who asked about tracking, that is just common sense...jesus h.! Again, I don't feel restricted whatsoever. The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

DO NOT BUY MATROX VIDEO PRODUCTS!!!
freaksister replied to cameramonkey's topic in Photography and Video
LOL@ Remi...RIGHT! We can't make too many jokes over here or we'll get "moderated." That sounds a lot like getting it where the sun doesn't shine, but its not that bad...hehe Glad you got your problem worked out, Cameramonkey...funny, I was just looking at some Matrox stuff at work tonight, wondering about their quality...LOL At least you got it worked out. LOL@Ann...only 3 hours a day, huh?? hehehehe....did you visit that website I posted a link to in my post? I think it would work cool for men and women both..and for those of us with barbells, there is an attachment you can get...

It depends on where you are going in Texas, its a really big state! Just about any dz is going to be safe. Honestly!! If you are going to the Dallas area, come out to Skydive Dallas. Or, if you going to be down south, the dzs around Houston are reputable, as well as Skydive San Marcos, which is near Austin. Go to the section here on this website called "dropzones" it is at the top of the page right now...search through Texas and email some dzs! Good luck, The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

I doubt that I'll be headed either place soon...I'd like to make a trip to Florida sometime this fall/winter...we'll see...money is really tight right now thanks to my dumbass losing helmets, audible alits, keys (that one cost $300) and other such pricey things as trying to get my 100th this month!! Thanks for the offer though, Aviatrr...

Well, I think its going to be cool after all...mom seems pretty excited...she said she looks forward to seeing Skydive Dallas (so far she's only been to Granbury and Skydive Texas) and wants to see me land now that I don't PLF all the time! We are going to eat and stuff Saturday so that should be fun too. I'll survive another weekend without my first numbers... The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

Yeah I think 16 bucks to 14,000 feet in 12 minutes is definitely a steal!

I freefly in my Patch Pants...they are about 10 different colors and they are super comfortable. I wear a long sleeved tee shirt tucked in and my tevas. I bought my patch pants brand new from tony suits for $90 but you could probably find some used ones at the dz for cheap. Besides $90 isn't bad. The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

Hey guys! Has anybody out there jumped a Lotus? Its an airlocked canopy made by Brian Germain (BigAirSportz)...same company that makes the Samurai (and used to make Jedeis)... for anyone who's curious, the Lotus is like a more docile Samurai... Anyway, I have a demo coming sometime soon, and I just wondered what comments ya'll might have abuot airlocks, or Brian's canopies in general. I know the Jedei was pretty popular... The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

I am on the waiting list for a demo Spectre 150 and also a Sabre2 150. I am also on the list for a 150 Lotus (see my new thread). I am anxious to see which of the three I like best... The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

well, its not her fault I'll be hitting zeros...my friend is probably going out of town to work so that's the reason for that! I already told mom I'm staying at the dz...because I get drunk and don't want to drive back to a motel. So she's taking the car each night and driving to a motel or something. Its just too weird having her go. I'm stressing. Could be worse, I guess I better shut up! The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

Men DO run the world, though...you just don't get everything your own way! hahahahaha That's the payback you get for the "glass ceiling." The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...

Hey everyone... Tomorrow is drawing nearer...the time when I can go jump jump jump! But my mom wants to go...the last time she went to the dz with me was in February...it was OK I guess...but last year she went ALL the time and looked over my shoulder constantly, always asking the people I jumped with if I did what I supposed to, etc. I had to ask her to stop coming to the dz because it got so bad. Plus, there's this guy (whuffo) she likes who lives in Dallas and she wants to see him while we're there...only problem is that she's married and hasn't told him! Like I want to entertain them too! SIGH...I guess I'm just venting my fears that mom will drive me crazy...if she would do a tandem it would be cooler...but she's afraid I can handle two days with her, I must keep telling myself that!!! You can do it, you can do it! And I'll be hitting zeros on my first number of the score-keeping system this weekend... The Freak Kitty I lust for the ultimate rush...
