Texans didn't hijack the forum, we are just more sociable than you! Our state is really big so of course we are going to have more people here, proportionate to our population, and hence our skydiving population. Skydiving is immensely popular in Texas...as it is in Florida and Cali. I wonder how many of the licensed skydivers USPA have listed in those three states. Probably the majority. People in Idaho just don't get out to the dz much!! hehe poor souls, don't even know what they are missing, up there growing potatoes. Texans go down better!!! We make excellent skydivers, if you missed that. Oh here is another cool fact: Several famous jumpers are from here. Just a few that you would recognize right away are Jim Slaton (Team Extreme Canopy Pilot) from AMARILLO (where I from, hehe) Dusty Smith and Chris Fiala (excellent freeflyers who are originally from Skydive Dallas) and Sherry Schrimsher (first woman to be President of USPA and a very well respected competition judge - also from Dallas and whose late husband Jerry was a pioneer in the sport.) Well, I had two ProTracks previously and lost them. I have had the Skytronic FX for about five months. I like it just fine, but to be honest it isn't quite as user-friendly as the Protrack. It has almost all of the same functions as the Protrack too, but its a lot cheaper. The user "map" - not a manual really - is lacking and I can't determine what kind of software or hardware is needed to connect to the PC. I have emailed them and will hopefully have an answer shortly. In general, the Skytronic is worth its price because it is almost as good as the Protrack and a lot less. All in all, I am happy with my purchase.

Well, the cool thing about my dz is that if you plan it properly, it can definitely be low-key!! It is all about organizing the load, letting manifest know what is going on, and wearing shirts to the boarding area. If that is what everyone wants, of course. I don't know if I would prefer it one way or the other, but I think I would rather have things "chill," if you know what I mean. Our pilots are totally COOL and I doubt they would radio down about it, since they know before hand. It is all the same as a naked jump. Our dz seems to be pretty damn cool about working with people.
