Ever seen a convertable with a sunroof? Someone gave me one!
DavidB replied to moto89's topic in The Bonfire
What a cute little toy. My brother & I just pulled one out of storage. The inspection sticker expired 9/89. It s a 1964 BTW, & weighs somewhere around 5200 lbs. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. -
Your argument is based on a flawed assumption (or 3). I can't argue against your dogma using logic, so why bother? When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

You're right, drop the military, close teh schools, stop fixing the roads and close the airports and schools; we will have your version of nirvana. Or perhaps we can privatize them, they seem to work real well that way. What? No one is bound to it. It's called an option for that reason. If you are rich, keep paying for your own if you wish. If you have employer-paid coverage and youylike it; keep it. YOUR EXEMPTION STSTEMENT MAKES NO SENSE, THERE IS NO COMPULSORY PARTICIPATION FOR ANYONE. Quit listening to Limbaugh so much Who? What? Nice set of ASSUMPTIONS. Carry on. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

So on one hand you want there to be an advantage to having money and you like class disparity, then on the other you want there to be no division in class and that all people, regardless of wealth status, to live on the same scale? You're twisting back and forth to suit your argument of: FUCK POOR PROPLR. Oh, OK then. 2000 pages of red tape & bureaucracy is a GOOD thing for "we the people" that have to fund this? Everything the government gets it's hands into is better for it? Most disturbing to me, the authors of this legislation are EXEMPTED from mandatory participation, "we the people" are not. If you believe that these politicians have your best interests at heart, if you believe the fox can & will guard the hen house, I don't know what to say that won't come across as an insult. Sorry. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

Just what our health care system needs; another 2000 pages of bureaucracy & governmental red-tape. They should be required to participate in any legislation they create, but the truth is they don't, won't & only care about what they can get for themselves, their friends & family. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw-IATxGmis Don't read the message, or read it, it's up to you (& not important). I suggest simply cranking it up, closing your eyes & ENJOY Rigo's Blues by Tom Rigney. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVR8lg1YLuc Electric guitar pioneer T Bone Walker plays his hit They Call it Stormy Monday. ladies, can we stop with this fucked up haircut?
DavidB replied to TrophyHusband's topic in The Bonfire
I've got to get involved... I was & am a fan of long hair; the longer the better. Why? Easy answer: My mother had really long (to her butt) hair until I was 13 when she chopped it in a dyke cut. My GF has had hair that's ranged from nearly butt-length to shaved & the only look she didn't really pull off was the permed super-curly "Orphan-Annie" look. About 12 years ago half her head was shaved (aneurysm), so she shaved the whole thing & it looked really good on her. It took me a couple weeks to talk her into going out without a hat/scarf & it seemed from the reactions around us, many women (more than half) & MOST of the men liked the bald look on her. For the next 8 or 9 months she kept it either shaved or buzz-cut. I liked it just fine & she loved not having to deal with wet hair. When the drain line was installed in her head (to reduce pressure & hopefully headaches) it left a divot she could see so she grew her hair out & now keeps it all about 3" long. Pic was taken in 2001 or 02 & a little longer than she keeps it currently. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. -
Wonder what major city that picture was taken in? You see those single-bottle prices!?! When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

I think my brother & I are going to make pizza, or maybe lasagna. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

There's that... Then when you get enough people working in the same place you typically have at least one person like that: They're unhappy that everyone/anyone around them is isn't as unhappy as they are. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

Maybe their passenger was the handicapped person. Not in this (or any other that I'm aware of) state! If I parked my truck in a handicapped parking space, opened the back & pulled my brother's wheelchair out, went to the passenger door & waited for him to get out, even if he put his handicapped placard in the windshield, I'd be liable for a ticket. Why? Because it's not his car, it doesn't have handicapped plates & his placard is tied to HIS cars, not mine. Reverse the situation: If I borrowed my brother's car & parked it in a handicapped space I'd be liable for a ticket the same as parking my own vehicle there. FYI: In NJ if you see someone driving with a handicapped placard hanging from their rear view mirror, they are liable for a ticket (obstructing the view or something like that). I'd hate to think this glaring lack of response means what I think it means... Really? There haven't been news stories about swine flu in Europe, or anywhere else? It's only the US news services that feel it's necessary to report on this epidemic? Curious... When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

Every single day on the local & network news is another story, or four, about the latest flu vaccine, who got it, & how many confirmed cases reported in the area. Every day for the last 4 or 5 weeks! Is this happening ANYWHERE else, or is this just a US phenomena? When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

Am I just dreaming, drunk, or safe , or do I remember someone here putting up a link to an outfit that will retro-fit your brick with modern digital internals connected to the brick controls? Kind of like the builders that will take the original radio from your 1952 Hupmobile & install modern internals, make it ipod/mpeg ready with external hook-ups for things like disc changers & amps, then have it all work in what looks like a stock AM radio.
