  1. Depends on who they are and what I might want to use them for. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  2. I enjoy diving headfirst into a cold ocean or swimming pool, but do NOT enjoy a cold shower. I don't like to jump in the shower right after my run, either.
  3. Oh my goodness! The article I read a few days ago made no mention of skydiving. I had no idea, Gawain! Very, very cool!
  4. Somebody shoot me. It's the only way. I can not stop belting this song...everywhere I go. I LOVE when he does the "Just Jack" hands when he sings shock, shock me. LOVE this song! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  5. Pops left. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  6. Um... I've watched The Real World since the first season. I was 11 when it first premiered. Old habits die hard. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  7. for another two minutes unless someone joins me.

    Holy Moley!

People always describe them as little, nasty creatures. I don't think he was nasty at all. Super-cute! Our neighbor had one and was going to buy one of those vile traps for it. I don't understand what the BFD is. The aesthetic damage is easily fixable--especially for him since he uses a professional landscaping service. It's not terribly difficult to press the raised ground back down with your foot. And we have tons of flowers and plants and from what I've seen when the little mole trails sprout up it travels in such a way that it seems to go around the plants. If he was borrowing under our plants, certainly there's been no noticeable damage to them. We have some of the healthiest foliage on the street. If anything Mr. Mole was helping to aerate them.

    Holy Moley!

Who knew moles were so cute? This morning I had the exciting opportunity to meet one, firsthand! We've had a mole or two in our backyard for some time. Once I watched the cats stare at the ground as it slowly moved up & down and forward a bit. Sabre even laid on top of it for a few minutes. But, I've never seen one in person. Until this morning as I'm making the bed and glance out the window to see Zoe' with this fuzzy, oval-shaped, wiggly thing in her mouth. Zoe' (unlike Jeff, the big tabby terrorist) never kills anything. But she is an excellent hunter catching all sorts of things daily. You know she's made a catch when you hear the loud, muffled meow. Open the door, and there she'll stand proudly showing off her capture, then dropping it. Whatever it is, always scurries away unharmed.
  10. IRL I have a lot of friends who are completely different than me and all with different things to offer. In fact, I think generally I'm more apt to have fun with those whom ordinarily have different opinions on "issues" than me. For me it's more do we have similar senses of humor? If someone makes me laugh, typically I get along fantastically with them. What I've learned about many in SC is often their acumen is niche. So while I might be fascinated by their knowledge and comprehension on one particular issue, I'm in complete disagreement on another. Certainly the latter doesn't trump the former--one still has something to bring to the table.
  11. Why do I finally understand what it feels like to be picked last in dodgeball.
  12. Sounds delicious! Except for Wilbur, Tom & Bessie. I LOVE chickpeas though! One of my all-time favorite snacks is baby carrots dipped in hummus. I love the roasted red bell peper & roasted garlic flavors. Mmmmmm. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  13. Don't get me started on "Grease". Sight unseen in years, starting with the opening song I can recite every character's line & lyric from start to finish. I even played both Rizzo and Sandy in "Grease" on two separate occasions in school. I think I went through three video tapes of that movie when I was little. And of course I watched all things Travolta during this time, as well. "Staying Alive" is another all-time favorite. I remember being so excited when Jackie from "Staying Alive" (Cynthia Rhodes) later showed up as Penny in "Dirty Dancing". I'm really ruining my reputation in this thread. But, unlike quade, I had like just been born when "Staying Alive" released. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  14. You just reminded me---I've never seen the end of "Old Yeller". Nor have I seen the middle of many "Lassie" episodes. Forget Timmy. If Lassie was in trouble, I was a nervous wreck until the always happy ending. For me, my first "horror" movie was Disney's "Alice in Wonderland". Everyone was fucking mean in Wonderland. I especially didn't care for later when Tom Petty did a musical video featuring the band members eating Alice who had a cake-like center. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  15. I bet you're not as old as quade who was obviously far too mature for the 'knobs when it came out. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  16. I LOVED The Little Mermaid. I don't think I've ever grown out of a good family animated flick. Even as an adult some of my favorite movies are: Finding Nemo Shrek Shark's Tale Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  17. Perhaps that's b/c you were already, like, super-old when it first came out. I, on the other hand, wasn't born until much, much later. I remember enjoying it as a child. And yes, I loved Mary Poppins, too. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  18. You are AWESOME! I was JUST searching for the name of that b/c I couldn't remember. But, it's been so long that all I had to go with to google was "kids, special powers, mountain".
  19. OK. You got me. I've never seen "A Christmas Story". Seriously. I think they showed it in class once when I was little on one of those last school days before break. I took a nap. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  20. No reason to be "" over it. It's not for everyone. No worries. Just b/c you and I and everyone here thinks skydiving is effing awesome, doesn't mean the majority does/should. There are plenty of things in life I say to myself, "Hey! That looks like fun...if I were completely rash." Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  21. Apparently some of mine NO-ONE has heard of. My poll is simple. Have you seen "Bedknobs and Broomsticks"? I was thinking of adding it to our Netflix queue as BZ has never seen it (and I don't think I've seen it since I was 10). But, I remember when my college roommate & good friend (wickedly smart) mentioned she'd never seen "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Of course, I rented it right away (How the hell do you grow up not having seen that?). She thought it was cute but...well, she was seeing it for the first time in 1998 so... What are/were some of your favorites? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  22. This is hilarious! (Please beware of some inaccuracies & leave your serious hat on the rack.) If you have HBO check it out, TEVO it, or look for it on On Demand cable. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  23. Bill, Billy, Willy--you crack me up. I said experience was a valid point. I never supported insanity. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  24. It's fun to route for the underdog, but realistically most underdog success stories are in the movies; a small percentage of those being "based on true stories". There's a reason experience--whether one likes the game or not--is needed. It usually helps when you know what to expect and how to expect it; i.e. how the game is played. One doesn't have to play the same way, but it's extremely beneficial to understand how others play it. I don't pay much attention to mudslinging from either side, but lack of DC experience is a valid point. And not necessarily one he can't overcome, but it's like anything else. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
