  1. Geese, I thought w/ 5 pages to this thread already, someone would have guessed by now! You're going to have to give out some better hints, Biguns. I don't think the sausages in this forum can take it much longer. Besides, we all know you're dying to post the unedited version. (I'm teasing you
  2. Ha ha ha.....He makes his own decisions but he's super nice and always willing to help out so it's easy for me to say I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

    What Pub?

He he he....yup, Tee, we've been living together for 3 months now and I'm loving every minute of it too! That's mainly why I haven't been on the boards much. I'm not bored out of my mind anymore sitting in Orlando but now I get to play w/ my boyfriend whenever I want and in the few minutes that we're not doing that now that I live on the beach, surfing, laying out, kayaking, fishing, and boating have all become my favorite past times. School starts back up next week so I'll be even busier but even though I'm taking 15 hours, I managed to fit in about 8 hours of work a week that will cover about 5 jumps a week. It's not much but I only have to suffer for this last year of college. I've also been busy w/ my new kitten. I named him Sabre after my canopy and he plays w/ a stuffed toy mouse named Racer and loves skydiving closing ribbons. He also sleeps in BZ's camera helmet and on top of the pile of jumpsuits. Ha ha ha. So, I probably still won't have much time to browse the boards. Really, the only thing I have to look forward to about school starting is the scholarship $$$ that I get to blow on a new freefly suit and (shhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm buying BZ a nice wide-angle camera for stills in skydiving. He has a nice video-camera but his still camera isn't up to what he wants so that's what I'm getting him for Christmas.) Watch out, though, he never visits DZ.com but now that I gave away his surprise, I'm sure he'll check it out. I hope not! So what has been going on w/ you? If I'm not around the boards much you can always e-mail me at: skydivegrl21@prodigy.net I check my e-mail daily and I'd love to hear from you
  4. I love Sebastian. Deland is where I'm a regular. Mike, I'd love to make it over to Space Center sometime. It's a wonder why I ever didn't when I lived in Orlando since it is not far from there but it sounds like a cool place
  5. His new Velocity 90 is waiting for him at Skydive Deland. He's stoked. I'm sure he won't mind at all. See you then! Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  6. Mountainman, Be sure to let all of us Deland jumpers, (me, Skymama, Skymedic, ext.) know when you will be down our way
  7. My canopy is not much to look at on the ground (orange and lemon colored) but it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen when it's open nicely above my head

    What Pub?

Wednesday night Eastern time? Central? What time? Where do you go to enter the chat? Wednesday nights are free comedy zone nights here so that's usually where I am since I love nothing better at night than to sit, hang out w/ friends, drink, and laugh my ass off. But I'd like to know anyways in case I'm around one time. Maybe someone could set up a permanent Pub you can go to anytime? Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  9. Mountainman, what DZ in FL were you planning on going to? Many of the DZs around here have bunkhouses but in addition anywhere you go there is a hotel nearby that gives skydiver discounts. That's usually what BZ and I do when we're jumping the whole weekend instead of just on Saturdays. We usually get a nice room for about $25. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

    What Pub?

Hi guys, I haven't been around the boards much lately but I heard (read?) a few people talking about "The Pub." I know way back when, DZ.com'ers were talking about making a chat forum. Did that ever happen? Is that what The Pub is? Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  11. I just turned 21, I have 1 year left of college to get my bachlers degree in communications and sociology. My plan is to finish college and pursue competition skydiving. I don't own a crystal ball so there is no telling what will happen next. That is just what I want to do, so I'll do it. I'm a writer and am hoping that I can sell a book that will make enough money to maybe help the cost of living. Ideally, I want to travel around. If you hit it right in the skydiving competition scene then your sponsors pay for a great deal of traveling to some amazing locations. I'm an idealist so I admit, it's impractical but that's what I'm going for. I believe that if you let practicality stop you from pursuing your dreams then what is it you really want out of life? Do you want stability and to settle or do you just want to put it all on the line in hopes that you'll have what you've always dreamed of? I'm not settleing
  12. Andrea.....when will you be able to start coming on Saturdays??? I'm taking 16 credit hours this semester and next so I will only be able to work enough to afford about 5 jumps a week and most likely they will always be on Saturdays since I just can't wait until Sunday to jump. Hope you can make it out on some Saturdays. I'll be there every Saturday rain or shine
  13. I have to agree w/ Spectre230. You just have to learn to accept that whuffos just do not get it. It's not just skydiving, though, it's pretty much all sports. The professionals on T.V make it look so easy. It still annoys me but only for a minute before I realize they're just whuffos and they don't matter when I'm flying upside down w/ a big ole' grin on my face

  15. I"m a big-way virgin so I can't give advice but since we're on the subject, would someone explain to me the allure of big ways? My biggest is a 7-way. I stick more to freeflying but I still enjoy turning some fast RW points but I much prefer a 4-way over 5 or 6. My question isn't meant to insult any avid big-way fliers. It's just that, I guess I'm selfish and I like the sky to myself and a couple others. To me, the world record 300-ways seem way more dangerous than any head down flying. Again, I am not speaking from experience so I'd love to hear other opinions. I fly head down and really enjoy it although I find some RW people calling me crazy. I think they must be just as crazy for jumping into a 300-way. Anyone agree/disagree? I guess after I've tried a 20-way that a 40-way might not seem so bad and after that so on and so on. So maybe lack of experience w/ big-ways is why I"m not understanding. I'd like to be well-rounded and try everything but I don't see too many bigger than 20-ways in my future as of now. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

  18. I know there's a few anti-religious skydivers on here which is all good but I always say a short prayer on the way to altitude for myself and all the skydivers on my load that we all have fun skydives and safe landings. No skydiver has ever had a mal on my load
  19. Geese, you northerners must have balls of steal! As a tropical girl I jumped all last winter and the coldest was about 40some degrees. I can't imagine what it's like jumping in colder weather than that. Full-face helmets make me claustraphobic. Then again, not too many artic-raised skydivers like jumping here during the dead of summer either. The heat index is 105 degrees and there's nowhere to go in the AC. The packing tent is wet w/ sweat

    About time!

Pammi, It sounds like you were already given some great advice. I have something to add in case no one before mentioned it. One thing my boyfriend told me that has dramatically changed my landings is to start my flair higher and slowly flair it all the way down. I was waiting until I thought I needed to flair and keeping my brakes up until I thought it was time to flair and then I'd make one quick move and pull my brakes all the way down. Needless to say I was leaving a lot of flairs unfinished and not getting a full brake out of my canopy. When I started pulling them down higher and just slowly finishing out my flair until my feet touch the ground, my landings have become more consistent and I've been standing all of them up. Up until that point, the only advice I was given was look at the horizon, look at the ground, look at the ground just in front of you, bla, bla, bla. Everyone has their own idea of what works for them and I didn't have a clue but that piece of advice helped me tremendously. Hope it helps you too. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  23. Anyone interested in buying a Stilleto 97 w/ 2000 jumps on it for about $400 or make an offer? Must sell! It has a new line set w/ only 100 jumps on the new line set. There are pictures of it on my website. Click on the link below and then click on the first picture on the page and it will take you to pictures of the canopy. It is jade, orange, and white. If you're interested you can post back or preferrably e-mail Billy Z at billzambie@hotmail.com Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  24. I hear you, Johnathan. I spent all my savings from high school before I began pawning. I have a couple scholarships that pay my tuition and there's always about $500 left over each semester that I get to blow and I STILL ended up pawning my shit. Ha ha ha! I'm sure you know Raman Noodles, by now, as well as I do. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

Frank! I'm shocked....I thought we writers/journalists had to have an eye for proofreading? I'm just teasing you. While we're on the subject though, I'll send you an e-mail......I"m writing a book! Ahhhhhh! Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
