Same here. I don't believe in "staying out of the sun". I LIVE for outdoor activities in my free time--the beach, gardening, fishing, biking, surfing, kayaking...whatever---they're ALL in the sun. Lots-o-block and frequent re-applications. Oh, and I just bought an awesome straw floppy hat and beach stick-in-the-sand umbrella--but the latter is mostly for my doggie Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

A healthy glow is love-el-ly. I am a bit of a freak-of-nature in that I'm mostly of German decent but have olive-toned skin. I can get pretty fair in the winter, but I tan easily--not burn. Like, Skymama, I used to only put SPF 7 on--and it was OIL, not block when I used to swim coach. I would get black in the summers. Since freshman year of college, though, I started loading on the block--at least SPF 15, usually SPF 30 with frequent re-applications. I also started using special moisturizers to help prevent/repair whatever previous underlying damage I might have caused. (There's nothing apparent, but these things don't show up for years.) I have never fake-baked. And I haven't even used self-tanner in the longest time b/c I never do seem to apply it accurately (My hands always seemed to look monkey-ish from washing after applying) I LOVE the fair/light glow look. I think more than that on someone who is not of Latin or other dark-complexioned decent, looks ridiculous & sometimes scary. And that's my story Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

You're not kidding! It will be gorgeous outside, and I watch people get genuinely excited to open up their computer towers and tinker, or download/burn music. I'd rather hang out on the beach and listen to a live band while probably (as long as it's at least Noon) sipping mimosas or mojitos or if its Sunday morning, make that a bloody mary, bartender That's just me... Salmon Oil is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. Most people take fish oil, but for lower risks of magnesium levels I take pure Salmon Oil. Omega-3s are good for EVERYTHING, for the vain it is GREAT for prevention of premature aging and healthy/glowing/gorgeous skin. The women in my family have taken it for years. It's in my dog's food to keep his coat shiny and healthy and his skin moisturized.

I have never heard of a "Go Tart" Aren't Pop Tarts, eseentially "Go Tarts"? I mean, they come in handy to-go packages of two and who actually toasts them anyways?

It's sad really. My father can disect a computer and program anything. I can operate one exceptionally well, but if something goes wrong, I'm royally screwed. I can wire circuit breakers, hook-up just about anything, but I know very little to zilch about the interior workings of these things. I have NO interest in it. For whatever reason, my father enjoys knowing how things work. I just enjoy working them. For as much as I use my computer for, it's a sad thing, really. But, I'm sure my life will still be happy & complete w/out this boredom. I mean, knowledge. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

What's with the puffy lips on every chic on tv ?
PLFXpert replied to cocheese's topic in The Bonfire
It was the "plenty" in that sentence that I found hilarious, b/c really, it's RARE. And, then there was the comment "Some of us are just luckier than others, I guess." b/c while that can be true, it is most often said by those with eating disorders or those denying they've had plastic surgery---not directed at you, just an overall in-general observation. I don't judge either of the above. But, when you've had friends who've been in either or both scenarios, you'll find it's VERY hard to be their friend--b/c here this person is that you love and they're so smart and wonderful and yet there is something going on with them mentally, that they would do something very unhealthy to themselves or think to solve their problems they need to undergo a knife to fix something. And, you can't get through to these people sometimes. You just have to be supportive of them, remain their friend no matter how hard it is, and pray each day they come to a realization on their own and seek help for themselves. I've been yelled at for various ridiculous things, as if I was "blessed" or something. B/c they don't see that I actually eat healthy 90% of the time and stay active, and moisturize and drink water, etc. etc. etc. I couldn't get mad at them for getting mad at me, b/c I knew it wasn't me they were mad at, but they were mad inside about things I couldn't help them with. I guess I feel a little guilty, and go overboard sometimes on my soapbox, b/c there is one friend in particular I've never forgotten, but had to leave behind. She became like cancer to me. I tried so hard to always be there for her and help her out of these crazy scenarious she'd get herself in after doing things to herself and I was becoming so drained. She had a lot of "suitors" but no-one who really cared about her, and I felt obligated to be the one there for her. Eventually, I had to make the most difficult decision to stop being there for her. To this day, I wonder how she is, and I pray for her. I've heard via old friends, she is same old, same old. It's a slipperly slope. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -
Great idea, except I'm secretly hoping one day the thing dies---b/c I have the means to purchase an entire new office--I want lots-o-accessories. But, I have NO DESIRE to shop for them (I'm a royal comparison shopper on things that do not go on my feet or have a shoulder strap), no desire to set it all up once I have them---no desire to try and get my computer programmed the way I want it to be. I have YEARS on this computer. I have all sorts of crazy things, all saved on backup, but just a royal nightmare to re-do. It will probably, literally, take my computer dying to motivate me to do the fore-mentioned overhaul. And when that happens, rest assure, I'll be doubling up on Xanax to keep me from pulling ever last hair on my head out. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I'm not afraid of them. I don't love them. But, when I find a garter snake, I relocate it. The funniest was trying to capture a black racer Actually, my hunny was trying to capture that one and I watched safely from behind the sliding glass door Seriously one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life, except when my hunny almost got bit on the thigh--yes, THIGH. The thing lunged so quickly, I'm surprised my hunny had time to think about backing up. Anywho...I do NOT believe in killing things, so I've learned about snakes, b/c though they're not my favorite things, I want to be able to capture them safely when they invade our property and put them in a happier place. I've never had to spray for bugs (except original termite bond) and we've never seen one in the house---seriously. I think it's due to the lizards and tree frogs we have outside. We have a lot of them. I enjoy having an abundance of these insect-eating reptiles so snakes are not welcome, but kindly removed Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

GORGEOUS! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. -
Sweet! It's not just me. I wasn't going to say anything since I'm royally overdue for a new computer. Currently, every once in a while I have to hit mine to make the color work Sad, but true. I'm sure there's some techy-way to open up my tower and fiddle with some wires and boards and things like that, but hitting the tower seems to work just fine for me Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

That's nuts! I just had a conversation about this the other day. A girlfriend (royal tomboy, but sweet) of mine was telling me the story of a fight she was in once, and I made the comment that I've never hit anyone in my entire life, much less gotten into a fight. Apparantly I'm either really lucky, or a big pussy I just don't think I could hit someone, unless in defense. I've also never touched a gun--except the squirt kind But, I have plans to learn to shoot at a target range or something. I would hate to think one day I'd be in a situation and not know how to operate a safety or cock. Well, I think I'd do OK with the latter And that's my story Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
