  1. Not me. Again, I was laughing at the idea. I.e. "Good in theory, but...". Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  2. Yes, b/c "fun" means spending money. And not just spending money, but spending it on weed. I wish Billy would post. He would go off on "fun" having to = money. I.E. It doesn't. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  3. If the mother is smoking pot, her kids probably aren't getting most of the food anyways. I'm not understanding your point, Bill. I was half-joking, but what is it exactly you're supporting and/or defending? I've been on a strict budget before. I had to cut out every luxury, including healthier foods which everyone knows cost more. One does what they must for "basic food, clothing & housing." If I wanted luxuries, which I did, I had to work for them. Such is life. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  4. I LOVE Verizon for a billion reasons... I am actually looking to buy a new phone myself. (Would like one w/ internet capabilities.) But I tell you. I've had Verizon for-EV-er! And the first time I switched phones was two years ago--they both laughed and aweed at my old phone. Thing is, my old phone's battery would last a week w/out a charger! And it would get service where no other phone would! Obviously, battery & signal have been compromised by smaller phones w/ more features. I royally miss my old phone with the super-duper, amazing battery! Sure, it was a little big. And sure it received text, but couldn't text back. But what the hell do I care? I live at the beach. I'm always on the beach. Salt water + cell phone = bad news. I don't call anyone ever, except on weekends when I say hello to grandma. Otherwise, you better have e-mail or be calling me a week in advance if you want to hang out. I know who & where my friends are. We hang out all the time; miraculously w/out calling/texting/sending stupid shit to each other all the time. I could careless about talking to anyone else otherwise. 5. Couldn't have said it better myself, as I was about to. Glad to know when I'm not here, things are under control. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  6. Perhaps for job performance... But for welfare??? Someone on welfare shouldn't be buying weed with what they earn and then using my tax dollars at the grocery store on food & staples. I have no issues with weed. I have no issues with people doing as they please to their body so long as it doesn't affect me. What I DO care about is weed cost money. And, for someone on welfare, it certainly isn't considered cheap. And it's a "LUXURY"! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  7. I LOVE that e-mail! I received that a while back, too, and laughed my ass off! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  8. SO cute! I love all ya'll (with one exception)! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  9. Oh, I was adding to what you said--my commentary wasn't directed at you at all.
  10. But they do sell birds, as ImGonnaJump mentioned. Personally, and I would think especially as skydivers, I should think it obvious why birds should not be sold as a pet period. Of course I support the rescue of, being there are far too many already unable to be released in the wild at this point. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  11. You are SO wrong. I would continue, but will wait until this thead gets moved to SC. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  12. Mine! I'm still in love with "Big Lola" more than a year after I bought her. She's a Toyota Sequoia with the works. My previous car was a little sport's car (Pontiac Sunfire they practically gave away after September 11th and I was in college so it worked well) I named "Lola" so it was only natural, since I loved the name, to call my Sequoia "Big Lola". She rocks! I hate that she hurts the environment, but I recycle so...it's all about balance. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  13. I really could go on and on and on about this subject. My first reply was lengthy and I opted to delete it. Hungarianchick, not only expensive but continue to be so b/c of the health issues! My entire family & friends-of-fam are royal papillon people. I can't even count how many b/w my fam & friends we have. I don't like to enforce my opinions on others. If they ask, I'm happy to share. My father & stepmom asked, I shared, and they visited a puppy mill in Amish country. Now they are eager to adopt their next from a local papillon rescue I googled and pointed them too.
  14. I STRONGLY agree! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  15. Um, I'm no Paris Hilton fan. I'll even go as far to say I don't care for her. But, this sort of emotion is extremely hilarious & begs so many questions I'm afraid I wouldn't want to know the answer to. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

It's fine with me if some guy (or girl) wants to hold onto a photo taken first thing in the morning of a girl they have never met. I mean to each their own. Whatever floats their boat. Such a boat is sad. In this case, ignorance is truly bliss--just don't repost them. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Unfortunately this must be said. I assume we're on the honor system, here. No right-click save. No re-posting later. Should this happen, I shall never post another pic again...summer is here...will be spending much time on the water in a bikini...have waterproof camera...think about what you'd be doing should you dishonor the honor system. Just for Slappie! First pic taken about two weeks ago, first thing in the morning as a joke. The flash makes my eyes look funny now that I look at it again. Oh well. Second pic from this past December in San Diego. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  19. It's fair use. The bottomline is fair use is a limitation on copyright (not just a term). It is not set in stone, but rather must be determined on a case by case basis. While it is understood making copies for oneself is fair use it is not defined as such. That's why I said "seems" in my post. As Thanatos pointed out, no rights have been taken away. It certainly seems this way to many, however. My support most definitely leans heavily toward the business standpoint. But, I am biased. I buy a DVD for to watch once in a while on my DVD player. I buy a CD on rare occassion for to play in my car CD player. That's the extent to which I care about my options for using such things. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  20. With a big crack in it. "Crack is whack." Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  21. Believe it or not, I completely understand & validate your complaint. In the end the supreme court will likely have to make a ruling, and it seems they're avoiding the issue for obvious reasons made clear in this thread--there is no easy answer. From a business standpoint, companies & persons need to be able to better protect their capital. It's not just a matter of overseas countries making copies of just about everything, it's about them being able to produce a product with no development cost, packaging it pretty & shipping it the U.S. to stores for half the price. That's a huge problem, imo, for too many reasons to take the time to list. On the consumer side, a person should be able to use what they purchased as many times as they want & on as many devices as they want so long as such devices are personally owned. Consumers CAN still do this, but not nearly as easily and almost too difficult to the point where it would seem the fair use doctrine in copyright law has been undermined. What is so hilarious about this thread's debate is little to no points have been conceded (and other things that are just personally hee-larious to me), just both sides repeating their point ad nauseam. There are a TON of valid arguments from both sides. And only when both sides can concede to a few points from the other will this issue be resolved. This thread is exactly why, imo, the Supreme Court is avoiding the issue altogether. I can just hear the courts arguing over how & where "Old School" can be watched.
