  1. A canopy collision during deployment. Attempted to deploy reserve but this too became entangled.
  2. Both Catherine Groff and Christophe Zagula were part of a 4-way formation skydive, they collided during deployment which lead to entanglement, reserves were unable to deploy due to entanglement.

  4. If he did something bad enough to provoke them then the case wouldn't have been dropped. And the prosecutors would have definitely seen the 'whole film'. And if he took a swing at them, then they would have a clear case. And there is nothing else he could have done to warrant it. Even if he called them useless fucking pigs.
  5. My assumption is that they are trying to portray the image that the man in question was a decent average guy. And not some 'thug' who was loitering on the street who was looking to take down 'the man' by lying about the incident.
  6. Haha, good thing I'm totally at peace with being a hypocrite! But nah, I don't consider interwebs 'authority' on forums to be of any importance. My authority hating is restricted to the real world ;) Or wherever I deem necessary at any given time.
  7. I don't think anyone here argues that fact. In fact, If I were in control of the military I'd make taking care of the Westboro Baptists the primary objects. Get off whatever other mission and take care of something equal to terrorists- mentally handicapped bigots. I think there are few things in this world less deserving of breath than the Westboro psychos.
  8. I'll add this to the 'things to consider' list and bring it up with the team.

  10. My tattoos are a bit... Well weird... But they all have their meanings to me, but without going into details. Black Sheep = Minor Threat (hardcore punk band) album cover. Watch Me Rise XXX = Yeah I'm straight edge, what about it. Coupled with lyrics to another hardcore band 'Have Heart' Refuse / Resist = Inspired by the Sepultura song of the same name. Your average authority hating, liberation tattoo.
  11. I disagree with that. I'll be hated on for saying it, but I don't believe in respect just because one is in the military. I realize that the military performs some decent tasks from time to time, but the negatives outweigh the positives for me. And I view military personal as government chess pieces. These are people's children and family, but they get sent into war being told lies and lead with money. If anything I have pity on them. They don't realize that they merely just objects for the government to use to get their goals achieved, while they sit safe behind their desks with their millions. I've also seen many cases where military personal were there just to 'shoot shit' or 'kill some muslims'. You're old enough to murder and be murdered for a lie, but not old enough to drink? Being in the military doesn't make you a good person or a hero. There may be good people in it, but there are also absolute pieces of shit in it that deserve death and not respect. And by giving respect to them regardless, it's no different than blindly following what the government tells you. Being lead like a puppet by the puppet master. It's definitely not always for freedom as you suggest, and when the military did recruiting at our school it was typically the neo-nazi wannabes who wanted to join just to shoot shit. Telling yourself it's for freedom is just lying to yourself. 'Freedom' is just an easy word for governments to use to recruit. There is no such thing as freedom. Just varying levels of oppression.
  12. Any Muslim's what? What is it of theirs you do not posses?
  13. Good man, bringing some hardcore to the table.
  14. Yeah, you can't exactly go and call anyone copy cats. Christianity is basically just Judaism which was edited and adapted. If I was still a Christian today I would almost certainly be looking more into Judaism. So let's see, Judaism exists and people follow it for centuries, following the old books teachings. Then this Jesus guy rocks up, claims to be the son of God, gets his posse together. They write about what amazing miracles he does etc. Then because of his friends who write these books about him being a man of miracles, people start to believe that he really was the son of God. The religion remains small, Judaism remains stronger. Then Constantine comes, and instead of killing Christians, he kills those whom are not Christians, and so Christianity gets it's first big real boost into becoming a strong religion, through manipulation and fear. But the reason people follow Christianity and not Judaism is due to a hand full of men who wrote about their hero. It's a good thing we have evolved a bit over the centuries, or else we may have religious texts where television psychics start their own religions. Just take Judaism and throw in some scripts from John Edwards, you've got another religion.
  15. You can't expect Christians to start thinking logically now ;)
  16. To add on to that... The comparison towards the Pope is inaccurate I feel. Most Christians I know have a strong dislike for Catholics as they see their religion as blasphemous due to the worshipping of 'idols'. And the Catholics I know get extremely offended when referred to as Christians and recently one stated "I'm Catholic, not Christian- I hate Christians!". But billvon, I don't think it's really about the bible being perfect. It's about God himself being perfect. Again, from personal experience, the Christians I know admit some of the bible may be flawed since it was written by man and has been subject to additions and omissions by the church. Many of which claim to just follow the principle teachings of the bible and not take it as 100% fact. Though all of them claim God himself is perfect. Any error in his teachings were caused by man.
  17. I love how people always seem to trade logic for religious influence. I feel kind of disappointed when I see people thanking God for their own work. It must suck to feel like you have to thank someone else for the things you did. People need to realize that what they achieve is thanks to them, not God. Or else all Atheists would be sitting in the street, homeless. Miracles are all about odds. If I flip a coin long enough, it'll land on heads 10 times in a row. Does that mean that when it happens it's a miracle from God? Negative. People just pass over all the bad shit that happens, and then when something good happens it's God's work. So millions die each year, but when one goes against the odds and survives it's a miracle? No it's not. The world must be a very spectacular place when one is able to pass on all the bad stuff as 'normal' and the occasional good thing as a 'miracle'. People need to stop passing on basic odds onto God, as well as their own achievements.
  18. I can't call that an accurate analogy at all. You can't compare attire to race, don't be silly. While I see no relevance on the colour of the policeman, I don't see a reason to get that uptight about the mentioning of colour. Even though OP has some issues with colour clearly feeling the need to add it. I'd request that people refrain from using racist terms though... Such terms as "young fuckhead nigga", are definitely not acceptable. And as per the site policy 'blatant racism' is prohibited, and it doesn't get more blatant than a sentence like that. So please try remain civil. This thread is on a fast track to the SC. "
  19. Regarding the perception of God being perfect. I've been to various churches and they all proposed that God was perfect, and that he was the only perfect being. And urge followers to try 'meet God's perfection, although it's impossible'. I can certainly say that in my experience, every Christian I've spoken to (which is plenty) had the idea that God is perfect and can do no wrong, and where it would seem he has done wrong, is merely one of his plans we don't understand. In fact I'm fairly certain most Christians I know would be most offended if another Christian proposed that God was not perfect.
  20. It's not a bad idea, personally I wouldn't mind seeing a cut-off limit at 3 consecutive posts. But with that said, I'm not sure about the other threads, but from browsing Bonfire and SC a lot, I've only ever seen one or two cases where this has occurred. And as far as I know there is no simple field where an admin can change the number of allowed consecutive posts, though I will check. So we'd need to get one of the tech guys to modify the actual forum manually, and before that it would make sense to see how big of a problem it is. It is definitely annoying to have it happen, but is it a common problem too. Or is it only from a select few individuals, if the latter- having a moderator personally send them a warning via PM telling them to post more responsibly may be a better solution? I know sometimes people have a habit of replying to one post, then wanting to reply to another and then to another, all addressing different points. But as you suggest, this is an annoyance, and I urge them to rather use NOTEPAD and copy/paste the posts they want to address there. Then there is no reason to go on a post-spree.
  21. Umm...No, actually not at all. How the fuck is that even similar?! Are you saying that there are more 'bad' black people than whites then? Because you said that it's based on the kind of person and not because of the circumstances that drive them to do it. The reason why blacks commit more crimes is a poverty/social issue, not because they're black! In this case the poverty is the direct metaphorical comparison to religion. An outside force that drives someone to commit 'bad acts'. You really shot yourself in the foot with that post. That's because they are killed because of other issues, poverty, drugs etc. Not because these people were born evil. No one said that without religion the world would be perfect. But it's impossible for any sane person to deny that the presence of religion has historically had a large impact on the increase in violence.
  22. Highly disagree. The person isn't the problem, it's the religion. If you get told by your God or his so-called teachings you will receive bountiful gifts when you die if you kill someone... And you truly believe your religion, you will do it. Remember that the word of God is supposed to over-rule the word of man. So all you need is to get a person to truly believe and then you can feed him whatever 'God' wants him to do. Your argument is flawed to no ends. Suicide bombers aren't suicide bombers because they enjoy killing people, don't be ridiculous. I hate all religions equally, but let's look at this quick. So you're saying that it's just complete luck that the suicide bombers all happen to live in one basic area. You realize people can make bombs anywhere right? You don't need to be a militant muslim to be able to make a bomb. If what you're saying was true, there would be a new serial killer every 2 days killing people in the U.S. But what do you know, it's few and far between. You're right in saying that a person whom has a certain type of personality trait is more likely to be violent. But to say that he would be without religion is non-sense. Those who perform suicide attacks for example are generally fairly militant about their beliefs... But when you don't have beliefs to be militant about then you just put that passion into something else. I'm a militant person my self, I stick to my guns. But I don't go around killing people, nor will I. But I know that if I was brought up being told that if I did I'd be rewarded, I'd probably do it. Because that's what humans do, if they believe something strongly enough all logic falls away, just look at Christians. Utter bollocks, you'd maybe have the same amount of gullible people, but not bad people. One just needs to think about the things Christians believe, they believe the teachings of the bible and the church in most cases. Luckily we've evolved with time, but at one stage majority of Christians were enjoying public shows of burning so-called witches, and the execution of non-believers. And these weren't inherently bad people, they were people who genuinely believed what they were doing was right. And when you can make someone think that, you can make them do whatever, no matter how evil. And Christians will claim they'd never do anything like that. But that's just because they weren't raised being told that's what's right. One's ideas of wrong and right are easily manipulated with the right amount of effort and years.
  23. Between 24 and 28 weeks yes. http://discovermagazine.com/2005/dec/fetus-feel-pain http://www.godandscience.org/doctrine/fetal_pain.html There's a few that suggest lower ( around 20 - 22 weeks ) but those are claims by pro-life bigots who always lack the proper scientific studies to back it up. Vast majority of scientists suggest 25-28 weeks)

I'll feel dirty for this, being on the republicans side for once... But I am with them on the stance of global warming, to an extent. If this thread is implying that global warming is present, sure I can live with that. But if it's implying Global Warming is caused by majority from the industrial sector, I disagree.. So they're saying there were bigger ones occurring 50 years ago, got it. And this weeks occurrence isn't happening every week. I hardly call it proof or even evidence of global warming, let alone man-made warming. A whole 100 years!!! That's not a very large sample of data for something where decimals can make a huge difference... If you have 500 000 or so years of accurate data you may be able to get a clearer picture of the causes and cycles of global temperatures. Now as I said, I won't say the world isn't heating, I won't even say it's not from industrial progression and pollution, but there is definitely not enough evidence to say it is. What? I'm pretty sure we're actually in a light La Nina, as can be seen by the stretch of lower SSTs in the Eastern Pacific. We're coming off an El Nino, 2010 for the most part was then neutral but has been trending towards La Nina for a while, like NOAA predicting in April or May. Just saying... ______________________________________________________________________________ [Heading slightly off topic and just onto global warming in general] But personally I think there is more bullshit agenda behind it than there is truth. Since when did politicians really care about saving people's lives. I speak more from a meteorological and climatological point of view though. The models they are using are algorithm based, as are all weather models. It relies on extremely accurate primary inserts of data to get a correct end result, and even then there are far too many unknowns in the equation to predict such things. Think of it as calculating someones footsteps for a distance of 10 meters, then using that initial motion to predict his whereabouts in 2 years time. Weather models aren't even accurate past 5 days, and these have 150 years of 'solid data' entered into them. The earth may be warming, it does that from time to time in natural solar cycles. I don't doubt that pollution is a bad thing, and I support efforts to minimize it. But currently it's more of a fashion trend, driving hybrid cars etc I remember when the whole 'hoo-haa' over Global Warming began, there were talks of increased hurricane activity by 2010, global floods by 2020 and basically the end of the world in 2050, there was even a documentry called "2050" that pushed that idea. And people who support the idea that we're all doomed like to do stupid things like point at 2005 hurricane season to support their thoughts. 2005 was an anomoly, in 1933 we had a similar hurricane season, and since 2005 we have had some of the most quiet hurricane seasons ever, a complete bore for hurricane tracking nuts like me. I don't have enough access to data to confirm or deny the presence of global warming altogether, I won't pretend to know that which I don't. But I am fairly certain this is more of a scare tactic using lies and over-exaggeration than anything else. And people buy into whatever is told to them without questioning things. "But those scientists said it's true", which ones? The ones that are probably government sponsored. Lack of accurate data is all I can say... Do I think it would be good for the earth if people continued to try be a bit more 'greener', absolutely. But I don't believing in misleading them with unreliable information to scare them into doing it. You can't base a whole theory on a few incidents that support it and then try pass it as fact. Let's look at hurricane activity quick which I touched on, 2005 was like a godsend for global warming nuts, they wrote about it everywhere how it was the beginning of the end. Since then what do we have? Some pussy storms that get sheared by TUTTs and raped by SAL. Water temperatures for the past 4 years in the Atlantic haven't been very high, and the heat content at depth was average at best. This year the seas are very warm, but it will probably go down again next year. People can start raising the alarms when you see 50 consecutive years with increasing heat and SSTs. Not a blip here and a blip there, granted it may be heating, but it's no doomsday yet, or even close. Quite frankly, I don't care if the world heats up, I'll be glad to be able to track some more hurricanes... Once again as I touched on, if you can't trust 150 years 'accurate data' in a model algorithm for a 3 day forecast for weather. How can you trust a long range climate model with sea surface temperatures... I won't deny or confirm the fact of man made global warming. I'd say that the evidence is not accurate enough to pick a side.
  25. No respect for em here. I have some friends who work in the police and they confirm how they stick up for each other regardless of the facts... For every 1 case that gets out into the media, there's another 100 that don't. Because most of em just have each others backs. The police force is basically a gang. Just with a few good guys in it. A guy in the street calls them a pussy, they beat the shit out of him. Then laugh about it with the other policemen. In so many cases it's a pure ego thing, knowing they have the power to do what they want. And in most cases will come off clear due to others keeping their mouths shut. Not every policeman is bad or evil, but the force itself is.
