Have you ever been injured during sex or masturbation?
Meso replied to iluvtofly's topic in The Bonfire
Not me personally, but I did end up kneeing an ex-girlfriend in the face during position switching. -
Well Satanism as a teaching and following isn't actually about those things. The Satanic teachings in reference to the 'Satanic Bible', which is the most commonly followed teaching of 'Satanism' through Anton LaVey are actually really tame. The Satanic Bible teaches against such things as sacrifice, and calls only for the injuring of an animal in cases of food or self-defence. In fact in regards to animals it's far more humane than the ordinary bible which contains sacrifices. You'll find that many people follow basic Satanism principles, even I do. The basic ideals of Satanism as per the Satanic bible of Anton LaVey have to do with living for oneself and for ones primal nature. Satanists do not believe in an afterlife and in fact it's much like Atheism. The basic idea of the Anton LaVey Satanic Bible is to live opposite to how the bible tells you to live, though is much like the old testament ideals, instead of forgiveness and compassion it teaches revenge. Instead of shying from greed, it welcomes it. Instead of preserving ones sexual nature it suggests to explore it. Those who have read the Satanic bible know to take it with a grain of salt, it contains some humor with it's 'teachings' and was never created to create a new religion as such. Apart from some of the philosophical ideals like vampiric aura and stuff, many Atheists follow much of the Satanic teachings. It's important to differentiate between Satanism and Devil Worship these days, as they both exist and both are quite different. Where Satanism denounces any injuring of innocent animals, Devil worship promotes sacrifices and murder, and unlike Satanism which is just a guide book on how to live for yourself and do what you can in the real life as there is no afterlife, the way Devil Worshipers think is that there is a powerful dark force whom shall guide them in their actions. You'll find most of those who claim to be Satanic follow Anton LaVey's teachings and not that of Devil Worship, which is extremely rare and well, just sick. Both however do promote orgies- and that's about where the similarities stop. For the most part though people, musicians especially are just Atheists who like the ability to scare and annoy the religious by making references to Satan. I find it quite amusing myself to 'hail the dark lord Satan' on occasion to get someone's goat. And for what it's worth... Danzig was way more amazing in the early years in the Misfits before he turned into a Wolfman ;)

I would support that theory, as that's my philosophy to Christianity in the first place. One is raised to fear God from an early age, the age where children believe whatever they're told no matter how much logic it lacks. And then once you instil that fear, they will continue to follow in most cases. But if he was so powerful and perfect he'd surely know how to get people to follow through means other than being threatening about it. Though I recall the old testament calling him a jealous God, so I guess it goes with the territory.

Actually I was for the most part taking the piss out of it. But researching the detailed beliefs of the bible is fruitless considering the fact that each Christian seems to interpret the bible in their own way. Some choose to discount areas that other Christians don't. Others choose to refer to certain stories as metaphors while others believe it's the truth. Some believe that if you're a true Christian you need to attend church, others disagree and flame the churches as misleading. In my own family alone I have members who believe the bible is completely fact, both testaments. Others believe that you can't be a Christian without attending church and others believe that you just need to believe. To quote wikipedia: "The predominant Christian view is that Jesus mediates a New Covenant relationship between God and his followers and abolished the Mosaic Laws, according to the New Testament." Which is what I knew all along. And doesn't change the fact that if God was all knowing and all powerful, why would he have not chosen an ideal and perfect way to communicate his teachings in the first place, and not relied on sending a proxy to correct or adjust his previous teachings or ideals in any way. They would be, from the beginning - perfect.

I used to play in school.. Before I realized I'm not the kind to measure penises in the change room. I love sport, just not those two. I come from South Africa, so rugby is pretty much mandatory. Though in South Africa, being a jock with the IQ of a brick is also. But my sentiments stand that there is entirely too much man-groping from homoerotic 'macho macho man' guys. At least that's how it is in South Africa, and since we're two time world champions, we must be doing it the right way ;)

Can't say either really do it for me... On one hand you have dudes in tights who look like spinning-tops when in uniform, and on the other hand you have grown men who wear shorts that are shorter than Beyonce's and tend to spend more time holding onto other men on the field than they do their wives. I'm not judging, it's just a tad too homoerotic for me

I've removed all of his posts now I think, and hope. A tiring process, but finally completed. Let's hope no more like that show up.

Wow my brain is vile. I read this thread as "Top 3 Beat-off things to do in LA"... Then I thought "Nah it is probably off-beat', so I looked over the topic again... Same thing, saw "beat off"... And here I am.

Just to touch on this... So basically either God was wrong or Jesus was? Or God made a mistake? Which apparently he doesn't do. Does Jesus outrank God? Since the one is portrayed as a sadistic, jealous hatemonger while the other is a hippie. And you either have to follow ones teaching or the other's if you think logically, as they contradict in many parts. Unless you want to use typical Christian logic and suggest that one can pick which parts of what God said should be omitted and what should stay. No wonder God let his only son die on a cross, he came down here and started outranking and contradicting him.

My post wasn't aimed at making any one seem worse than the other. I was putting them on par. As your post hinted at Christianity being a more peaceful religion, which may be accurate today- but as the religion itself goes, they`re both the same. I don't think the fact that it's 2010 changes anything, the only reason why we change with time is because we learn from our mistakes. Whether it be the society that does or the religion. Christians began to learn that what they were doing was wrong, it's not like one day everyone was all "Oh it's now time we stopped our barbaric acts". Fact is they went through hundreds of years committing violent acts. And the age of the religion is relevant. Because I hope and feel it's possible for Islamic religion to calm down over the next few hundred years the way Christianity did, currently they`re doing just what the Christians used to do, by feeling it is their need to convert everyone to their religion regardless of the consequences. Eventually I think a religion just realizes that it's futile, and they still need to learn that.

You don't see it because you're a few hundred years late. Islam is what? About 700 years+ younger than Christianity. When Christianity was that old there was still vile atrocities being performed in the name of the religion, and actually for long after that too. Public burnings and stonings. If there were news reports from the middle-ages you'd see a lot more brutality than you see in Islam today. I oppose both, but one can't say one is worse than the other.

That's definitely one they seemed to skip over in Sunday school.

I'm fairly certain this is a virus. It sounds like Malware, which can be troublesome with many anti-virus programs and can sneak through detection by some. They can often run through a script, try disabling scripts on your browser temporarily- if it fixes the problem then you know it's Malware, but if it doesn't, it also doesn't mean it isn't. But it's one way to check. Since there are no other users complaining of this issue I`m fairly positive it's on your side.

Classifieds/Gear Reviews Integration?
Meso replied to ryan_d_sucks's topic in Suggestions and Feedback
We brought this issue up on Friday during a meeting and we feel that there is definitely potential for it, and we will soon be looking at the best ways to implement such a feature. We're toying with some exciting ideas for the possible integration of the two features. It may take a little while, but it's something that's quite likely to be in the pipeline in the near future. -

Consider this a warning... Watch your words. Turning "nigger" into "nigga" and thinking it's not offensive any more because they say it in raps doesn't change a thing. As per the rules, no blatant racism will be tolerated. So I'm giving you the same warning I gave another user in Bonfire last week. You're free to show your true side, which you quite clearly have done, by turning a supposed post on baptists to one consisting of primarily mocking blacks. Which is fine generally, and within limits, though quite distasteful- but when "nigger" and "nigga" get placed inside a post containing racial criticism, that's pretty much the line. I know there are posts where people argue that someone is or isn't racist. But there will be no arguing here.. I'm simply telling you, watch your wording when you're showing your true self. -
