I actually have had a student use that excuse for why she didn't have a project done. Her bf didn't keep an eye on the puppy and she had a puddle on her poster!!! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

***Handle every stressful situation in life like a dog... If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away! Quote Ooooo....I like this.......Coiuld I do this when I have a pile of tests to grade? I could always tell them the dog did it!!!! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! Bonjour, Je peux le lire. It's a nice looking site and has a lot of good info. I'm really not sure about the opening photo though.........it really doesn't have much to do with skydiving. Not a parachute in sight. Well done. Pearl "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Oh, I do plan on getting to California sometime this year. I've got a brother in the Redding area that I plan on dragging to a DZ to show him what his big sister has learned how to do. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Double WOW! I really hadn't been looking very far beyond learning to jump, pull, & land, other than to pretty much think at my age my options when it came to the various disciplines were pretty much limited. Maybe I better give that idea some more thought. Thanks, Jim Hickey and you too, the Don and Lisa, for sharing the info about him. Now, if anyone can do anything about the weather here in Idaho so that I can practice that jump, pull, land thing again one of these days....... It's nice to see someone else who thinks that way. I did get off the ground mighty quick one time when I looked at the ground above my head and saw a nifty looking scorpion ambling by. Me and my sleeping bag slept on a cot that night!!! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

I'm in awe of what he has accomplished so far. He sure makes me feel like starting to learn skydiving at 57 is an ok thing to do. I'd settle for a couple of hundred jumps in my first two years. Wow...... "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Cool....or should I say cold? I don't see that you are any crazier than the rest of us. I sure haven't minded the cold on those few occasions when I've gotten to jump so far. Every one of my 5 AFF jumps has been in freezing temps. Actually, the only time I feel the cold is between the time the door on the plane opens and I climb out. I'm a little to occupied in the air to even notice. You are actually sleeping in a sleeping bag, not in a tent? I have always preferred that in the summer, but I don't know about winter. You've got to be kidding!!! If you want to see the early morning stars and planets, how about an alarm clock? "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

I don't like to drive in it or shovel it, both of which I am probably going to have to do again in the morning. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Oh, how I understand that one. It has snowed and snowed and is still snowing here with more to come, We have had to cancel classes twice this week so far with another possible snow day tomorrow. AND it's supposed to snow on and off all weekend. No jumping. How am I ever going to learn to skydive and get my license????? "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! Been there, doing that......It's a hard thing to go through, to see your kid in those circumstances, but if that's what it takes to turn his life around, it is for the best. i definitely agree that the boy the OP is asking about is very, very likely headed down a road that is straight down hill to a life that we never want to see kids lead. That boy's mom needs to take drastic steps before the road back is terribly long and hard, or not possible at all. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

***The last part of the first sentence says it all "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE" Night night to the hard drive. Quote Been there.....Seen that........What a nightmare!!!! I now have an external hard drive on my home computer and my work computer that automatically backs up my files every day. I know that's still not foolproof, but it's sure better than the no backup situation I had pre-crash! "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490

Yep, line twists for me first jump, too. I looked up and there they were. No panic, just did what I had been taught. It was nice to know I could react like I was supposed to. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
