    i did a tandem in October, 2007 and fell in love with skydiving instantly. I started making arrangements for AFF about 4 hours later, but reality in the form of money, weather, plane issues, pilot issues, etc, kept me on the ground a lot more often than in the air. There's nothing like winter in Idaho to slow down a beginning skydiver. It took me until the end of April to get to jump number 8 and it wasn't for lack of trying. Since then, I have been doing a pretty good job of making up for the delay. It's been about a year since that 8th jump and I've now got 269. It's just too much fun to stay on the ground.     Congrats on #300. I almost went, but I had a lot of stuff to do that involved the computer and internet and just couldn't do that from the dz there. We finally have wifi at the dz in Star now, so I was able to work whle watching the wind blow. I did learn a lot about jumping in wind and suddenly no wiind this weekend. Turbulance from buildings is rather interesting, and nice level braked turns are nice when you're heading for a fence, fire pit and parking lot, none of which seemed like a very good place to land. I may have only had two jumps, but I packed a lot of experience into them lol

    Well, I've lost enough people without being able to say good bye that one last time and tell them I loved them, that making sure my friends and family had that chance would be on top of my list. I'd also want to see that my kids made the skydive with me they've each been talking about doing. I'd really like them to have a taste of the sky and share in the joy I've found there.     If I make sure the velcro is secure BEFORE I try to put the canopy in the bag, gennerally no problems. If, on the other hand, the velcro is not fastened, it would really prefer to stay that way apparently. I put the canopy in, close the velcro and then try to make my first stow, the f*%#ing thing pops right back open again. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!!
