  1. Yea, 'cause we sure haven't experienced any of that in the last eight years, have we? you mean like the really bad out of control spending that the dem controled congress has put through for the last 3.5 years?
  2. unless a 100 or more become faithless we are stuck with an ever increasing national debt and more trends towards socialism.
  3. I personally try to work with nonunion people. Labor is cheaper, less breaks, more efficiencey per hour worked. (don't see non union employees sitting around waiting for the next union emloyee to do his job)
  4. I would be good with an honest Republican.. even one who would come out of the closet for once. I guess we both have problems with honesty with the politicians
  5. Not facing the fact that things got this way in the first place on account of bad management decisions is not facing reality. the fact is bending to the unions is the largest part of the problem, but then again what choice did they have? give in to the unions or have them strike and go bankrupt? kinda puts the management in a shitty spot doesn't it? Neither God nor Darwin put the unions in the position to force management to make bad decisions or avoid hard decisions. Management did it to themselves and their stockholders. I guess you weren't around when the auto dealers went on strike about 10 years ago. when my freinds almost lost their houses and 1 couple got divorced over the financial situation they were put in over the strike, they did come out ahead eventually but it was at great financial burden during the strike. now you are paying for that strike by seeing $100 - $150 and rates at the dealers to get your car fixed. Now the mechanics get paid min $1200 a month even when they stand around and do nothing. you can't fire a bad employee without a hassle, you have to lay off the good employees to get to a bad employee that has senority. yep unions make alot of sense now dont't they! You are in the wrong argument. This is about WHO is responsible for managing a corporation, NOT about whether unions always make smart decisions. And you might ask the question, HOW did unions come to have so much influence, and what role bad management had it it. A little history goes a long way in understanding why things are the way they are. Unions played a good role years ago when management was really bad, but now they abuse their roles. when the company has to compete with non union companies or foriegn companies without unions they put people in bad situations that could harm the company no matter what choices they make. The unions, in their currant situation, are hurting companies and causing them to not be able to compete. they may get short term gains for the employees but long term they will cause the company to go bankrupt or move, leaving the employees jobless.
  6. I agree, he must be replaced at once with a staunch rePUBICan with the proper "public" morals that are in line with his parties "public" appearance. This will keep fringe right posters like you very happy till your "morality" party member is caught when his gay lover at the local church has a crisis of faith and confesses to it all. hey I'll take an honest democrat, if you can find one.
  7. Be sure to run that one past your priest or pastor... see what they think of it .. sorry but I like to ask questions about morality to those that are actually living on good moral standards,

  9. I don't support socialism, but i feel this would be alot better than what the government is doing now, call it a comprimise, liberals know what that is right?

  11. Bullshit. Are you a capitalist or not? If the US car companies would make a competitive car, then I'd buy one. They don't, so my free market dollars go where they belong: to the company that makes the best product. Relying on the "Buy American" crap is one of the reason's the car companies felt safe making an inferior product all these years. They failed to learn the lesson from the Japanese car invasion of the 70's and 80's and are still paying the price. I proudly own a Toyota and a Subaru. I'm also strongly against bailing those idiots in Detroit out. then you are part of the unemloyment problem. I never said anything about letting the big 3 make inferior products, the american people have driven them to making inferior products by their stupidity. Being a mechanic for 25 years i have seen and worked on almost every car sold in america. every car company has good cars and bad cars, to bad the people don't listen to me when i recomend the good ones. If people would only by the good cars from the big 3 they would only build the good cars. I have told alot of people not to buy the chrysler 2.7 liter engine, but they show up later with a chrysler with that engine in it. Untill the last 4-6 years kia was a piece of shit but people kept buying them. for alot of years hyundai built crap but people kept buying them. products are created and sold because of demand and sales of poor products continue. another example is champion spark plugs, the lowest quality, most most prone to defect spark plug on the market, is the best selling plug in the US. Why? because they are advertised very good and people don't care about quality. so, because you decided to buy a pice of shit Subaru(and they are pieces of shit, i work on them and they don't even rate in my top 50% of good cars, but toyota is a good car) instead of looking into the good cars sold by American companies you are a part of the problem.
  12. i like the one "do unto others as they have done unto you"
  13. the left is really ignorant aren't they, didn't the effect of FDR's policies have any influence on todays democrats? the way you make jobs is to let the private sector grow, not take money out of the private sector by taxing. the government would do better by cutting taxes but put regulations on ceo's and large companies as to what % of money can go to the exec's. promote jobs yes but not at the expense of putting large burdens on companies with taxes and increasing the national debt.
  14. On NPR this morning that question came up in an interview with a prosecutor, (not involved in the case). His explanation was that Fitzgerald had to "spring the trap early", else there would have been public furor over having a sitting senator who had been appointed by fraud. I don't buy it. You go public the moment after the appointment is made. You explain that you needed an overt act to secure a conviction. People can understand that. The alternative is to be left with this lukewarm case where the governor can always claim he was just talking shit all along. Talking shit just doesn't cut it. The blohard is a public official that has been put in a position that is very important and influencial. Blagojevich is the leader of a state and should act like one. guilty of a crime or not, he is not fit for office and should be removed.
  15. OP's stupidity, seller's greed. What a combo. poor s&ta and a stupid dzo are probably in the mix also.
  16. Because it's not a (no offense) American made piece of shit? I bought, and will continue to buy toyota's because: 1.) they last >300k miles without major service issues. 2.) they run smooth, consistant and reliable over a wide operational range 3.) the interior fit and finish is significantly nicer than anything I've seen from the big 3. 4.) All hand controls are ergonomically well thought out, for EASY, simple operation. I had the displeasure of renting a 08' chevy pickup. It had
  17. anyone that hires an illegal imagrant should be fined. Here's another watcher who hired illegal cleaners. "She’s supposed to be deporting aliens, not hiring them," said Assistant US Attorney Brian T. Kelly, chief of the public corruption unit. niether side wants to send the illegals to their side of the fence. and if they are corrupt, send them to jail or fine them. I'm glad some are getting caught.
  18. And Ayers was not a bad guy when Barack was hanging out with him right? You can't have it both ways. Sure you can, since some people change their ways for the better, and others don't. As a self-professed Christian, you should appreciate that. show me how Ayers has changed his values, just because he changed tactics doesn't mean he has changed anything else for the better. his books have proven he is still the same person, just without the violence. Really? And I thought he was an award winning educator these days. what does the awards have to do with the fact he is a radical, murdering terrorist? Because he found he could spread his poison in a different manner doesn't change who he is. Peace activism is "poison"? Only in the minds of the radical right. Ayers didn't kill anyone. Fact is, Ayers DID change, and Saddam did not. Saddam was a murdering SOB when Rummy shook his hand. Saddam was gassing Kurds while Reagan was supporting him. edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/11/20/sbm.documents/index.html charles manson didn't actually kill anyone either

  21. yeah I know...i think we met already. .... I'll be completely honest, when I decided to make this thread, it actually crossed my mind to put..."On behalf of Detroit, I would humbly like to thank you....except for The Anvil and Gawain..."but I din't think that was appropriate and didn't really feel that way anyhow...You were atleast a bit more pleasant...but I like that hard sht too.... The Anvil quote: ...this is good stuff...seriously I know the view is different in your neck of the woods, but the question that is not being asked in Michigan is this: Why is GM and Ford prospering everywhere else in the world, and not in the US? Why did GM complete the build-out of a $700M (+/-) of a new factory in Russia? How is Ford able to have a multi-line plant in Brazil, with its own port for import/export? How was Diamler not able to turn Chrysler around, despite a major infusion of technological advancement? As much as I would like to plant the blame solely on the government, I'm not convinced that's the case, other makers have been able to meet the regs and be prosperous. Why would anyone in Detroit think that a "car czar" in Washington, DC knows how to build cars... there are 2 problems, greedy exec's and greedy unions.

  23. yep you are correct, we had a few good goveners ubtil the last 2, 1 dem 1 rep 1 in jail 1 going to jail.
  24. you sure about that? as bad as this world has become, santa needed to make only 2 or 3 stops.
  25. I'm surprised that by now they don't have a politicians' wing in prison in Illinois. they should, but i think the 5 star resort is in wisconsin. what really sucks is not only did they rob and cheat us but we have to still pay for their room and board. Although Ryan did loose his pension I think. they might even have a fair prison fight, the dems and reps should have a close to equal amount of inmates.
