    american journalism is dieing because of its loss of objectiveness and its desire to promote it's own political views. people no longer trust the mainstream media to report the news acurately or without furthering the agenda it desires. I have never heard of William Safire but the fact that he worked for the times and I live in chicago might be the reason. the fact that he wasn't a bigger story has probably more to do with how the times reports the stories and the loss of people using them as a credible sorce.Quote

    Can't ignore the fact that without the Bush lies we wouldn't be hearing the Obama lies. Not saying it's all Bush's fault. Just saying that if Bush had actually done what he campaigned on and not been such a fuck-up, Obama probably wouldn't have been elected.

    how many lies does Obama need to tell before he is called out by those that can put him his place. Obama is a liar and has a talent for telling half truths, with all the czars he should be able to at least gather acurate information. Obama isnot interested in the truth, only advancing his policy despite the truth.

    Yes! beer and soda will be taxed as the high amount of calories can increase the weight of people and in order to reduce carbon emissions and reduce healthcare costs these items will be highly taxed in order to reduce their use.     And that could be a byproduct of our gross classism; young intercity girls from poor homes make crappy mothers. If our social system was better they might make better mothers knowing they could rely on the gubbement. We can both conjecture, but even if we weren't bad at that, we have a myriad of other things we do poorly.

    so we are in the top 20% with our lifestyle? sounds good to me. let those other countries convert to our lifestyle and then see how they rate. we overeat, over drink, over smoke, jump out of planes, clime rocks, drive cars that are just wanting to crash, we probably have the most destructive lifestyle in the world and we still almost match up with others. I think we are doing pretty good.
