  1. See the pics attached to prev. post... Center of the slider is holded to the center of the rig's yoke, so the rest of the slider is pulled down and didn't interfere wtih vision and didn't flaping. The purpose of slider holding is not to hold grommets at the bottom of risers, but to keep the material of slider away from view and keep it silent. Yeah I see what you mean. It wasn't until I got my own rig and pulled it to bits that I understood it. Still confused as to why the reserve pilot chute pings off and can't stay attached but I'm meeting a rigger soon to see how/why it's all done. It'll all come together eventually. EDIT - It's just clicked
  2. My mate used to have an r1 and has this written on the license plate "R1 sharp as a razor, not a blade in sight".
  3. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> You're right, it is really stupid, but it is not your fault. Bungees are supposed to hold the slider at the bottom of the risers so that it does not interfer with vision. The biggest disadvantage of those stupid bungees is that they might interfere with a cutaway. Skydivers would be far wiser to sew "Slocks" or "slider-catchers" to their main risers.[/reply Whats even worse is I still dont get it Why is it in the center near the reserve flap if it's to hold the slider down? surely it would then be attached to a riser? Patience please - I'm a beginner?!
  4. Ah! I just wondered why some had it and others didn't.
  5. I hope this doesn't come across as really stupid but I've noticed at the dz that some people have like a little bungee sticking out the top of their rig, what is that?
  6. Couldn't agree more, if there's one thing that gets under my skin it's people who are cruel to animals. Hope you get a good home sorted out
  7. Hi Sangi, everyone hates the expense huh? hahaha, good luck
  8. Lied about not doing it when he had really, tut tut.
  9. there was one on beach patrol last night. that was on video ne nar ne nar.
  10. my friend lying about shagging my ex wife. I didn't like that one oh no.
  11. AH Thankyou, I'm glad you've said that because I've had a scuba diver say the exact same thing to me. He didn't understand that he could drown when diving. Unbelievable isn't it?
  12. So far I've yet to have a positive response from someone about skydiving, I've even been compared to a heroin addict - can you believe that? I'm learning very quickly to just not talk about it to non skydiving people. Shame really
  13. Hi Loretta, Have fun with the SL, I'm sure you will and welcome
  14. I think the AFF would only be valid for 30 days anyway and then after that you'd have to redo it. Maybe one of the more experienced guys can tell you for sure.
  15. Yeah I know what you mean, I've been to the dz and just watched. That's the problem with skydiving - it's bloody expensive, well it is until you get to A license and have your own rig. Anyway good luck with it, I'm sure you'll get there eventually
  16. Well done Micky!! I've just blown all my money on gear too haha
  17. Yeah. Unfortunately it's an all too common story. I think we all have a bad mechanics story. You have more patience than I do that's for sure.
  18. I use Volkswagen at Santa Monica, their service couldn't be better, by far the best I've had bar non. Last time the bill came in way less than estimated and it was done quicker than I expected. Treated like royalty. Which I dont suppose you wanna hear right now. hope it gets better for you.
  19. I personally would email them or phone whatever, and ask them if they can do a discount and then pick the one that does the best, tell them your predicament and see what they say?
  20. Just to go off the subject a little bit I think it also matters, quite a lot, what you're landing on - well for learners anyway. I normally land in dusty soil with bits of stone which can be quite forgiving if you have a crappy landing, unless however it's been raining - then dries out again, then it's like landing on concrete and those stones are like bits of glass sticking out. I fell and cut my hands to ribbons, now I use gloves even when it's hot just in case, I'm still falling over on lots of landings anyway. Really it would be better to use sand for the learners landing area.
  21. After waiting over twice as long as promised I finally get my order today. It is ridiculously small, I'm annoyed as I was asked TWICE to confirm my measurements - and after the long wait. Customer service is terrible, emails are not responded to, phone messages never returned, they don't respond to the website messages. I wish I could think of something good to say. You really are gambling when you place an order here, I wont be using them again and certainly wont be recommending them. EDIT - Since writing this review Kurupee have been in contact with myself and offered to replace the order free of charge AND said they will make the order their first priority. Needless to say I am very happy, their email was very polite and apologetic so it's probable I might change this review after receiving the order.
  22. Seriously try the windtunnel, it did wonders to help me with very similar problems.
  23. whats the difference between a pro pack and a psycho?
