  1. Most of what you said here was wrong: It's not that hard to track over to and under a group that just left. It is very possible for a sit-flyer to stay up with a 3-way round, with a standard sit suit or no sit suit at all (all depends on who's involved) and has been done before. You put out a good sized wake of air, even if you just suck one down, chances are he's bringing his friends with him. ah Why don't we just chaulk this one up to inexperience then, and drop it? Especially since you now say it never happened (Is there something about the south that makes people tell stories?) Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  2. You never said in your original post that you were 1,000 feet below them. You could have easily "corked" into them if you were closer... you don't know what your fallrate is compared tho theirs, and had you been closer, they could have fallen into your burble. Being 1,000ft below them probably even worried them more, not knowing at what altitude you were going to pull. Most people doing RW don't want to have to keep looking down towards the end of a skydive to determine if some idiot has deployed at their breakoff altitude. Lose the atitude, and listen to voices of experience (like skybytch) and maybe you'll find people are more willing to jump with you. 3. Well, at that 99dogs link I posted earlier in the thread, everyone could make their own, and just have everyone put the dz.com logo on the front. The downsides: I'm not sure how we could work it so Sangiro made a couple bucks off it, and the shirts would be $20-$25 I think the "Post Naked" one is my favorite so far...
  4. What's wrong with "Type Fast - Take chances - Call Sangiro bad names" ? crap.. I just read mouth's post.... guess that rules this one out (see attachment) Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  5. here ya go! (see attachment) (with dropzone.com logo on the front) Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  6. If I remember right (and I may not, it's been awhile) she had a problem with a container manufacture and publicly voiced her displeasure with the customer service she was experiencing. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  7. If I remember, it was sun-gee-row Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  8. no no no, it's not 'head down' or 'heads down' it's 'feet up' - then you don't have to worry about it being plural or not. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  9. I'm not sure how good of an idea it is. I guess you need to look at how often these things could actually be used and how many lives would be saved vs. how often someone would get drunk/bored/whatever and take one for a joy ride (for the hotel scenario... and how do you keep them from being stolen, but still availible in an emergency) and how many people would get hurt or killed because a smoke alarm went off, and they put it on and jumped out the window. I just don't see it happening. And the idea's not new. Like I said in the last post, someone came up with the idea about a hundred years ago. 10. from wreck-dot-sykdiving (posted by George Galloway) ---------- I created the page on our website to act more like a lightning rod to measure the public scope of interest in this idea, than as a real sales tool. I have neither advertised nor publicized the web address, thereby making it available only to those who seek it out and find it. The specific equipment referred to at http://www.aerodynamics.com/escapechute/escapechute.htm is Precision's B.A.S.E. canopy designed by me, that we sell to Vertigo under their brand name Dagger. The h/c is Vertigo's Wizard. The price is based on Vertigo's "Wizard Complete Package" http://www.vertigobase.com/default.asp?CategoryID=PRICE&PageID=PRICE_PACKAGES&SortBy=INDEX The small print behind this item ('training required') includes a minimum of 100 skydives plus B.A.S.E. training provided by Vertigo. The broader issue is to measure a new perspective on accepting the concept of B.A.S.E. as a real alternative to traditional escape methods. I have not yet given detailed thought to how this item would fit into our dealership structure, or if we will even offer it to the mainstream whuffos, yet. However, for those who seek an added layer of personal safety, and who are willing to dedicate their time and money toward the training required, this may be a very realistic option for preparedness. In the meantime, we have already begun developing a round canopy static-lined version which might be more appropriate to the general high-rise public. We will have round prototypes complete with containers within 30 days. We begin testing the static-lined round this week. Thanks for your note. gg Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  11. You can buy one for $1600 http://precision.aerodynamics.com/EscapeChute/escapechute.htm It's actually not a new idea at all. Some guy tried to patent the idea a hundred years ago Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  12. and then I saw this girl with really long braids on this board, and I was like, weeeeeeeee! Anytime Lew. Maybe next time I'll even stay closer to you, since I know you probably won't kill me! The whole weekend was full of some kick-ass jumps. Chasing you all over the sky was probably my second favorite, my first being the tracking dive we did with red, white, and blue smoke.
  13. anybody have a high resolution version of the dz.com logo? Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  14. I think he tried before, and wasn't impressed with Cafe Press. Awhile back I suggested checking out 99dogs.com - Don't know if they're any better or not, but may be worth a shot. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  15. AHEM! Where do I fit into this? (Well, I know where I'd like to fit into it, but that's just wishful thinking...) Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  16. Ok Clay, go show them how it's done then. Go over there, take your family with you. Say something bad about their rulers, and watch them kill your family. Continue to "fight" and get yourself killed rather quickly. You'll be pushed off in a grave somewhere, and maybe a grand total of 6 people will know or even care what you did to get yourself shot. Will have accomplished nothing except getting yourself and your family killed. But hey, you made a stand right? There are a few people who have organized and are fighting the Taliban. I think they're called the Northern Alliance - they actually hold Afganistan's seat at the UN. They're putting up a fight, they're just not getting anywhere. But hey, screw them too , right? Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  17. Clay - You haven't lived how these people have lived. These people are starving, the life expectancy is something like age 45, the infant mortality rate is somewhere around 150. No, most of them don't have a choice. They can barely survive, much less put up a fight against an oppressive government. You know, it's the kind of hate you display is the same kind of hate that was displayed on 9-11 ... just different sides of the ball. And I would like everyone who may be reading this from outside of the US to know that this is not the attitude of most Americans, including our President. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  18. Umm... actually, haven't they banned all carry on items? Did they life that already? I thought all you could have on board now is a wallet (you could probably hide a knife in there too if you really wanted) I'd have those people fax you something offical saying it's ok. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  19. Better take a couple rolls of aluminum foil, just in case Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  20. I doubt anyone is affected, but make sure you also check http://38.200.9.137/010915tfr.html We're 11 miles from an AFB with a restriction of 5 miles... wheew! Just make sure the pilot isn't feeling cocky, and we should be ok. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  21. Yeeeeeaaaaaaaa baaaaaaabeeee!! ---- EXAMPLES OF AUTHORIZED OPERATIONS, OUTSIDE "ENHANCED CLASS B AIRSPACE" INCLUDE: AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE REPOSITIONING. BALLOONS. CIVIL AIR PATROL. GLIDERS. 22. The USPA is hard at work too (and you always thought they didn't do anything...) --------- Airspace Update (9/19/01) A new FAA Notam is expected between 4 PM and 6 PM EDT today, after the FAA coordinates the details with their Flight Service Stations. USPA will post the new information as soon as we receive it. We are now informed that some restrictions will be lifted today, with others following as the threat is reassessed on an hour by hour basis at the White House. We will post changes on this site as they occur. USPA continues to stay fully engaged with the FAA, National Security Council, and Department of Defense in an effort to restore general aviation VFR flight, in general, and skydiving operations in particular. Our message to the national leadership has been that skydiving operations, unlike most other VFR operations, are under close supervision and in continual communication with air traffic control. Furthermore, skydiving aircraft remain in the immediate vicinity of the airport from which they operate, thereby posing little threat to major urban areas from which they are restricted. Meanwhile, USPA has started gathering economic impact data to present at upcoming Congressional hearings on how the restrictions have harmed the aviation industry. We are also investigating how skydiving businesses may benefit from the bailout bill being considered by Congress for aviation businesses. 23. I just saw that update... don't know what it means for us. Looks promising though. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  24. "Photo Missions" are also now free to fly VFR to circle. "Uhh.. ya... we have a couple cameras on board. We need to circle to about 13,000 feet for the wide area shot. I know we did this 20 minutes ago, the shots didn't come out well" Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  25. ahhh... something to do while grounded.... thanks! Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
