True test of Geek-dom.... who knows the meaning behind "2600"? Ok, if you know it's a magazine, you're halfway there. Speaking of reading email.... Good shirt Speaking of case mods... Trippy I love that site. Back to the Apple v Whatever processor debate - aren't the Motorola's still RISC processors? Which should give them some speed increase over an AMD or Intel. You can't really compare mhz between processors. Even between intel and amd, an intel 1.2 might actually be slower than an amd 1.0 I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

I used to love building model airplanes. I can't count the number of them I've built over the years. Now you got me interested.... I just found a twin otter kit, and a Casa 212 kit! I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Macs can be useful - I have 4 Mac Classics as legs for my coffee table. Oh, and a 7200/120 running LinuxPPC I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Assuming an upwind jumprun, the freaks should always go out last (or as the guy at Lake Whales called us, 'the devil worshippers) If for some strange reason, you're doing a down-wind jump run, they should go out first. Cross-wind I think you could still debate the freefliers go first. Another thing to keep in mind is where in relation to the DZ will everyone be getting out. If the free fliers get out first, and let's say they get 15 seconds less freefall time, and the flat fliers gave an 8 second delay, they could be under canopy a good 20-30 seconds before others start opening - is there a chance you're going to fly under the next group? Just something to think about. And numbers aren't absolute - you can't say "take 8 seconds between groups" and hope that works all the time. Winds change, jump-run speed may change, size of groups change... when in doubt, ask someone who knows. If you don't know, and someone asks you, don't be too proud to say "I'm not sure, ask someone else" I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Right, but I thought we were in "AppleLand" where everything's over priced. A decent sony is like $350 - $450 (depends where you look) an Apple 15" by itself is $600. I wasn't really arguing the value, just pointing out that Apple overcharges for everything equally. I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

The display is probably 75% of the total cost there. Just something to keep in mind if you want to compare to similar priced Dell/Gateway/whatever - price it with a flat screen. I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Could be your burner or your player.. probably the player. I used to have a similar problem with my old car CD player, when I bought a newer one, the problem pretty much went away. It still happens a little bit. Most often when I first make a CD. This might sound odd, but wipe the CD down real good (I usually just wiped it on my jeans a few times) that seems to help with the newly burned CDs. They still skip pretty easy though. Try using a different brand of CD and/pr try having someone else with a CD burner make one for you. If all else fails, go buy one of those Kenwood in-dash CD players that will play MP3s (it can read data CDRs... drool) I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

You know you've been posting too long when......

Ha! I did that! I was reading something in this latest issue (in the "letters from people" section) and as I was reading it, I thought "Damn, that sounds like CN #1" - and I think it was! (Well, the letter was signed "Lisa" not "Skybytch", so I couldn't be sure) I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag -
Sony (Because Caucasians are too damn tall) I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

"Pounded in" is a little strong. I have Jim's last landing on video, and he more fell on his butt than pounded in. And 75 reserve rides, and he still swears by the Ravens - they must do something right (granted, not all 75 of those have been on ravens, but a good number have been) I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

It was those pissed off union workers.... everybody knows that..... I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Kazaa = BAD! Stay away from Kazaa! Bad bad stuff! Spy-ware gets installed with it, and won't work without it. Use morpheus, it uses the same network, but doesn't install the spyware crap. Go to Download.com and download "Ad Aware" - if you have Kazaa, it'll show you the junk it installed with it. So, uninstall Kazaa, run ad-aware and get rid of the spyware crap, then go to musiccity.com and install morpheus. I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

It's cold here... I want to go back. Had a great time. Lake Whales is a way cool place. Z-Hills was a very nice place too, but we ended up spending more time at Lake Whales. When we left yesterday, it was probably close to 70 :( It's like 20 here now :( Didn't knowingly run into any DZ.commers... maybe next time. I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Me, Phreezone, sunshine, and the rest of the cajun chicken gang would like to say hi from Florida! The weather doesn't suck here. I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

I don't know man.... I wouldn't want to go there! All that spewing lava and smoke, freak lightning storms, big monster things living in the water, orcs and goblins running rampid... not my idea of a good vacation spot! I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

I thought almost the same thing... that would have been funny.. "How about if I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call?" I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Nope, no tickets, or I would have to stop by there. If it makes you feel any better, I won't take as much joy in OSU beating USC as I would if it were another team. I mean, you have to have some love for a school where you can buy a hat that says "Cocks" I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

those are good! I like the whole bloopers video. And they jumped into "Big Brother"!! That's hilarious! I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

We're staying in Lakeland. I have directions and numbers for 6 or 7 DZs and Skyventure. We probably will spend most of the time at Z-hills and Lake Whales. I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

/me jumps up and down wildly waving his hands The 26th though the 2nd. No idea where we'll end up... I just got done printing direction to about 8 different places. I think Z-hills and Lake Whales will be the closest to where we're staying, so the odds of us being there are pretty high. I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

I actually thought of this a few weeks ago, jokingly saying "We should recruit Hollywood.. put a look-alike in a video telling the world he was wrong and he's sorry..." etc etc But, I don't know, I don't really think it's something they could fake - because if there's one little thing wrong that tips people off, it will completely backfire and piss off the entire world. Ever see the movie "Wag the Dog"? Good flick. I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Those are hilarious! I have a raft dive on tape, where one of the people on the outside falls into the raft a little bit, and you can hear her say "Hey there! How ya doin'?" and you can hear the girl in the boat just start laughing her ass off I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad I got sunshine, in a bag

Don't you hate that feeling of being invisible. I think I've told this story before, but one time me and my roommate were on our bikes heading to the DZ when some lady decided that she needed to be in our lane right now and she couldn't even spare the time to make sure no one was there. After some tire smoke and pucker on his part, a few choice words to her on my part (hey, she about killed the guy that pays half the rent!) and a good thrashing by some guy in a mini-van that saw the whole thing - he looks at me and says "Let's go do something safe.. like skydiving!
