  1. When I stay in Chicago, it's always world class, but I'm privileged to stay "In The Loop" where the murder rate is 0 and people pay more to park their car than a mortgage payment in the slums just a few miles away. . .well, that is until you add the 4-5% property tax for a $40K house in those same slums, or pay slumlord rent of $1375 with a median income of $21K South Side Chicago: Beverly Median Income - 105k Median House - $286,000 Property Tax - 1.69% Rent - $1875 Crime 35% lower than national average Murder rate - 0 Bridgeport Median Income - 41k Median House - $353k Property Tax - 1.44% Rent - $1800 Crime 25% lower than national average Murder rate - 0 Meanwhile, just several miles away between those two neighborhoods. . . Englewood Median Income - 21k Median House - $40,000 Property Tax - 4.87% Rent- $1375 Crime 256% higher than the national average murder rate - 94.9 That's so seriously messed up, I don't even know where to begin. I mean, WTF do you expect to happen in that type of situation?
  2. Yes, and we did largely fix that potential problem. If we had not it would be getting to be a bigger problem by now. Maybe we should've left the hole open for all the hot air to escape.
  3. So, that is exactly what I said. There is no evidence of the existence of god. Look up the meaning of the word "evidence". Evidence is different than proof, and very seldom will one piece of evidence be enough to prove anything.
  4. There is no evidence of god. None. Well, there is someone's personal testimony which is considered a form of evidence, albeit anecdotal and unreliable for many people to accept as truth. However, for the religious, this personal evidence is all one needs to sustain their faith and may even be predisposed to accept it through natural selection.
  5. It's going to be the same shit and come down to WI, MI, OH, PA. It can go either way, but IMO, right now it's still advantage republicans in those states.
  6. They need a way to make Republicans/conservatives/evangelicals feel empowered by voting him out. I don't know. Good luck.
  7. And actually I’ve known two kinds of atheists; those who are pretty sure he doesn’t, but will listen to evidence and consider it, and those who KNOW there isn’t a God. Wendy P. Yeah, the considerate ones are those you meet face to face. The second ones are those you meet online. Sometimes it's the same person. Just like religious folks I suppose.
  8. Well, what fun is it if some people can't post vague and misleading statements? Seriously, what statement was vague and misleading? Seriously tho, where did I claim that? WTF are you talking about? If you look at what I wrote, you'd see that Bill and I actually agree on immigration/border issues. What's frustrating is that often, when replying to me, he has the tendency to use my post as a platform to argue against some supposed right wing claim or ideology that I never held nor claimed, which essentially is a strawman. I'm glad tho that he's starting to use disclaimers if he's going to do that, but I was simply pointing out that there would be no need for disclaimers if he just address things I've actually said, otherwise communication tends to get a bit weird and breaks down. It's not as bad as Amazon, but it's similar to how you'd make a post and then she'd use it somehow go off on some wild tangent about right wingers that had nothing to do with wtf we were actually talking about. And then she'd end it with her signature BWAHAHAHAHA!!!
  9. Fucking golden. If you included the context in your selective quote, I'd agree.
  10. I was listening to the radio today, they were talking about Barr and whether he lied and whether that meant legal action against him. I gauran-fucking-tee you that there's a room full of people right now figuring out how to get Trump to go under oath in testimony about what Barr said. For fuck's sake man, they really need to shit or get off the pot, because this is getting ridiculous. You hear about all the 10,000 lies, and the shady business deals, and the prostitutes, and that he's a racist, a xenophobe, a Hitler, a Mussolini. You hear about all the indictments, the convictions, the guilty pleas, a 2-year investigation, and then you hear about sitting president and how he can't be indicted and how you have to prove intent and blah, blah, blah bullshit. Now we're talking about a bunch of guys crammed in some smokey room somewhere trying to figure out how to get him! It was found out in January 1998 that Clinton got a blowjob, and by December he was being fucking impeached. I mean, are the Democrats that fucking stupid, or is Trump's team that smart? Because it's starting to look like he actually did hire the best people. The best people to take the fall and allow him to do whatever the fuck he wants, whenever the fuck he wants, just like he has his entire life. And the Dems aren't going to do shit about it except piss and moan ad nauseam just like they always do. Maybe they'll wake up once he gets re-elected.
  11. I'm referring to communist/atheists that together killed millions for a variety of reasons, including religion. Groups like the LMA that pushed anti-religious propaganda that resulted in the mass murder of numerous clergy members. Their mindset was chillingly similar to many anti-religious bigots we hear today, even some in this very thread. (Not you, btw) And sorry for all the wiki links, but they're still a good place to start.
  12. Sounds like they wouldn't make good scientists then. . .
  13. Atheism is *not* a religion. I agree. I was saying that atheists killed people because of their religion (christianity, islam, etc.) not atheism.
  14. You wouldn't need to post these disclaimers if you just addressed what I've actually said, rather than things that I've not "literally said." Ah, so you are starting to see shades of gray, rather than just lumping everyone from a group together? Is that loaded question based on something I've not literally said? This site's shitty search function makes it difficult to find things I didn't say.
  15. Careful, you're entering stage Left. "It's all about the feels. . .feels, not facts!" I agree that atheists killed 100+ millions of people because of their religion, among other things. I'm guessing their motives probably had something to do with power and/or money in one way or another, as it is with most murders. Oh come on, it's like you're afraid of history repeating itself or something. . .
  16. Because part of trying to fix a problem is understanding the problem. In this case, motivation plays a big role in trying to understand the problem. Exactly, so why are you lumping all other violent crime together as if it's all the same thing with the same solution, except when it comes to right wing crime? The Texas stats show that crime is significantly higher among undocumented immigrants than it is among those that are. This might be due to the fact that undocumented immigrants don't have access to programs that would otherwise keep many of them from pursuing a life of crime. Solutions to fix that won't necessarily apply to U.S citizens. I understand that many on the left may not want to give the right any foothold when it comes to border control issues, but you don't have to trivialize them in order to explain why the wall may be ineffective.
  17. It seems to me that those are some pretty mobile goal posts. I do have to concede the closeness of the analogy though. The analogy is still broken. Bill might've had a point if he actually "didn't take issue" with Bigun's concern about crime among undocumented immigrants and trivialize it.
  18. Ya, just stick it in the sand.
  19. ?? Not taking issue with something that has larger numbers is "hypocrisy?" Ok, so two out of three?
  20. Because not all far right extremism is criminal? In case you haven't noticed, we're talking about the criminals
  21. Why don't you just lump that in with violent crime as well?
  22. And crime from illegal aliens is a much bigger problem than crime from far right terrorists according to Bill's Global Terror Index stat. The outrage or whatever is disproportionate. More likely a desire to maintain a white American/Nationalist identity.

Thanks - I'd feel wrong doing that. It kinda feels like stealing. "Let each man be fully convinced in his own mind." I won't try persuading you either way with that one.

  25. Interesting. Last month you posted info from the Global Terror Index about how far right terrorism is on the rise with "66 deaths and launched 127 attacks" worldwide over a 5 year period. Now you're saying they're becoming so common! And a very serious threat! But when Bigun posted info about the 219,000 violent crime convictions of illegal aliens over a 10 year period, including nearly 500 murder convictions of 1000+ murder charges in Texas alone, you trivialized it. Do you honestly see no conflict, bias or hypocrisy with that?
