You know that wouldn't work...nothing would ever work. There is no "proof" There can't be any proof. Besides, God is perfect remember, he never leaves proof behind. Perhaps one day, ina perfect world we will all work for foreign companies and buy only foreign goods because they're sooooooooo superior. Why should we put up our money when all the other countries are willing to make the investment and provide us a better way of life. We should just give up.... God forbid however that they take over our greatest export...media entertainment. Have you ever watched Japaneese TV? (other than Ninja Warrior...That's a good one) EDIT We should probably just give up on space too...that money could go for more practical things...nobody really cares about mars neway. Let the Chinese take that one. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are... -

Isn't it right that other companies succeeded in part by funding from their government? >Yep. That's not an argument to emulate them, though. True. I was just alluding to the possibility that it might not be fair to compare the sucess of a foreign company to that of the US auto industry. There are different variables at play. I don't think the auto industry was as crooked as Enron...if that even matters? And I think most people that want to support the auto indusrty probably would favor some type of restructuring. Also, I don't remember Enron causing significant economic effects that would cause a ripple effect like the one threatened by the auto industry. Sorry if you were offended by the title of my post:"Bush wants $25B in loans released to carmakers"...it was just the heading on the AP news story.... The strange thing is that if you go back to the story, they changed the heading to:"Senate will debate $25 billion auto bill Monday" ...and the story has been re-written. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/AUTO_BAILOUT?SITE=OHALL2&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT Here is a quote from the article in regards to exsiting funds dedicated to the auto industry apart from the bailout : "Those loans were approved to help automakers build more fuel-efficient vehicles and become more competitive companies in the global marketplace. The administration now supports allowing the loans to be released more quickly than the original legislation prescribed and to be used for more urgent purposes as the companies struggle to stay afloat." Well duh, wtf were they waiting for...fear? Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are... -
Think it will shame the religious zealots?
Coreece replied to diablopilot's topic in Speakers Corner
The passage I quoted is dealing with two issues. Hypocrisy in the church and church discipline. I was trying to drive home the point that it is wrong to condemn those outside the faith, which i think the passage makes very clear. As far as judging those inside the church, paul is talking about church discipline. Many churches today are unfamiliar or do not practice church discipline. If you understand this doctrine in its context, you would know that it always should be done in a spirit of love... Church discipline debates can become very heated because many christians don't understand it, fear it, and feel that reproof is somehow hateful. EDIT If Pauls words seem harsh, you have to keep in mind that Paul was dealing with some of the most vile and hypocritical christians to ever live. They just didn't get it. If you remember, Paul says that even the pagans don't commits acts such as these, and even the pagans were shocked at their actions. This vile influence was permeating the corinth church and taking down honest christians that were otherwise obedient. Paul was simply saying that it has gone to far and this vile influence has got to go for the sake of the church. It was causing good christians to fall and was not good PR. These letters are recorded in the Bible to be used as an example. To remind us to not be hypocritical and hatefully judgemental, but also, to not allow liscenciousness to run rampant within the church. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are... -

After reading the following passage, among others, It is clear to me that we christians are to not judge those outside the faith, but rather ourselves. I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? 13 God judges those outside. "Purge the evil person from among you." I just wanted to know how much the DVD cost. I guess you don't know... It could very well be old public domain footage downloaded for free... Sorry my reply didn't help. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

A purple surface typically indicates that it was burned on a PC. If it is silver, it was more than likely created by "pressing" the info onto the DVD. This is the typical method for mass distibution, including Blockbuster hits. Many companies buy a license for older footage and re-author it. Completely legal. Many times the original master is just not good quality. If the master is old and of poor quality, it won't matter if they used the highest quality compression. How much did you pay for it? I absolutely understand where you're comming from; however, I keep wondering about those that think "Jumping Off the Indominable Golden Gate" is a more glorious way to pass on. Perhaps they are not comfortable dying in other ways. Think about all the ways to die.....To me, the Golden Gate sounds like a nice option....almost enticing. On the other side, I keep wondering about how many lives the Golden Gate saves....I imagine taking that long walk, almost with a smile on my face, happy that its almost over. My heart start to pump faster...I say fuck that, I'm doing this shit...I stop walking cause I know if I think about it any longer, it ain't gonna happen. I hop the rail, and my heart starts to thump strong in it's final attempt to save my life...Than, in this extreme personal moment I look out and realize something I never thought before and live out my day....or I just get scarred like a pussy. Either way, I'm ending the night with a fat steak, a beer and some boobies. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

I don't think anyone has a right to judge how someone else makes a decision in this regard. Is one's ignorance any better than anothers. Would you say that people have no right to vote a partisan ticket because they may be ignorant of one of the candidates? futhermore which of the following is more accurate. I won't vote for Obama because he is a terrorist. I will vote for Obama because he is black. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

>the people that don't take the time to find out at least a little about the election have no right voting. Yes they do. >legally yes morally no. the choice of voting for president is very important, almost the most important choice you could ever make, therefore voting without knowledge of the situation would be disservice to you and the country. I can agree with that in theory, I just don't believe people are actually going to the voting booths that oblivious. There is something that motivated them to register, and something that motivated them to vote; and I feel that motivation is enough. Even if their vote was motivated by race, I still believe that they have some knowledge of their candidate even if they are not as informed as other voters. IMHO, I believe that it is a greater disservice to not vote at all than to vote ignorrantly. Besides, its all based on preception and opinion anyways.
