  1. I'm inclined to agree with your post overall in a general sense, but lets say we had a president that had not been so eager to go to war, perhaps some young kids would still be with us today. So for their families, yes, the President matters very much so. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  2. yes, and athiest as well for pushing their agenda on everybody else, the very thing they despise about christians other than God himself. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  3. I was a delivery driver for Gumby's while in college...we'd make near $5000 on $5 pizzas in a night and wouldn't get out of there till like 4:30am. (fri&Sat) and yes...Pokey Stix Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

  5. Because he was the first candidate to run on the message of change...everyone else tried to copy him and just ended up looking stupid, like Shooter Mcgavin in "Happy Gilmore" when he was trying to practice Happy's running-drive technique in the woods. 8. How about accidently creating a FSM...I mean it seems pretty easy to skrew up some of the 400,000 sites....and from the looks of that picture in the article, it seems like thats exactly what they'd get....their very own FSM that they can marvel over and worship. 9. ...and here I am thinking the whole thing was due to an indirect result of the terrorists....phew, didn't want them winning.
  10. First it was he has no experience, now it's he's choosing people with experience... I don't see how choosing people with experience has anything to do with his ability to facilitate positive change. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  11. "It's not our fault". Sounds like their pretty committed to change... jim The UAW has made concessions in the past year to cut wages and takeover responsibility for providing healthcare. This will bring GM's cost per worker down from $75/hr to $45/hr.(about the same as Toyota) It will take to 2010 to make the changes and implement the new system. GM needs the bailout to make it to this point in time....hopefully the economy will be rebounding by then. Now...if the main argument against GM is that it's labor costs are too high to survive even with the bailout, doesn't this satisfy that argument? 15. I sent 2 large packages for christmas last year from MI to CA. Nobody lived at the address anymore so it was to be "returned to sender." The packages were never sent back to me. The tracking info said they were still in California, but the post office there said they were sent back. I went to the my post office but they didn't have em...after a month, I checked back at my post office and only one package had arrived, nobody knows what happened to the other.... EDIT They didn't give a shit either..... Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  16. I don't know too many people that are eager to buy a car from a company that has gone tits up. >Yet you are advocating that we, the taxpayer, do just that... >Oh, the irony!! Rubbish.....GM is still the #1 automaker worldwide and Chevy is the fastest growing car, all is not lost.....they're still tits down. >You missed the headline months ago where Toyota surpassed GM in >volume and ranking. GM's domestic market share has been on a near >irreversible downward trend. I think its important to note however that Toyota's numbers include data from Daihatsu that the OICA lists as a seperate entity, but since Daihatsu is still a Toyota subsidiary I guess it doesn't matter. The numbers also reflect large commercial vehicles and busses produced by Toyota. If we only look at cars and smaller commercial vehicles (the bulk of production) GM is ahead slightly...but we are looking at overall numbers...so again, I guess it doesn't matter. I would still maintain however that all is not lost and that it is a mistake to give up now. If we had a normal stable economy and there wasn't such a demand and opportunity for more practical vehicles, perhaps I would see a bailout as foolish as you do. I choose to remain optimistic and hopeful. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  17. EDIT I see where you got confused....let me explain. Im talking about tits up meaning bankrupt. Kallend reffered to bankrupt as "tango-uniform" Gawain reffered to bankrupt as "belly up" I referred to it as "tits up" Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  18. Here is a link to a 20-30 minute video of Ron Gettelfinger(UAW) and Rick Wagoner (GM) It will give you an idea of their perspective and what they are prepared to tell Washington this week. For those that think either of these guys run a business like drunks having a stoke, right click the video and change the play speed to slow. Its not your typical slow motion and is rather humorous. http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/17993165/detail.html Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  19. Where is the money gonna come from? Do you believe that the other employers should pick up the tab? do you believe that 3 million people should be kicked out onto the street with nothing? Michigan, Indiana, California, Missouri, New York, Ohio, South Carolina and Wisconsin are close to insolvency if not already. I don't know too many people that are eager to buy a car from a company that has gone tits up. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  20. I always wondered what type of restrictions where imposed on you. Where there restrictions on what you could show during the pre-release of the Sony V1U a few years back. I found the footage to be useless as a resource to determine wether or not to buy one...figured your hands musta been tied or something...or perhaps you were just doing Sony a favor by limiting content. 21. >As you stated, you do understand that they >will have to change their method of doing >business. That would mean - recognizing a problem and identifying a >solution and implementing it. >Did they recognize a problem before? Some where recognized, some were not, others could not be forseen. >Do they have a solution? They're working on it with our government officials. >Why didn't they implement it before? 22. So we bailout the auto industry with money saved from future fiscal responsibility. We're getting off subject by talking about giving money to companies that aren't asking for it. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  23. Hasn't seemed to work for them... I noticed you used the word..."IF" You will if we don't....but than it will be to late. Sorry to have to resort to fear...but as you know fear was designed to save lives. I hope or government officials can realistically discern which option will cost the less in the long run and make a wise decision accordingly. I think the main idea here is to keep the US auto industry running to take advantage of the demand for more practical vehicles and the opportunity to rebound. Restructuring will be imperative. 24. I don't think we should give other countries our money because we AMERICANS are toooooo stupid/greedy to run a business. We are better than this and can make it work. I'd rather have a socialistic government before allowing/financing foreign companies to takeover all of our business....I think, it could just be American pride talking though. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
  25. And apperently it is very possible to do so. American Axle suceeded in cutting wages by $10/hr and has set the starting wage to $10/hr opposed to $17-$21/hr. The only problem was that they didn't seem to have the leverage to do this until there was a significant threat to the company and jobs. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
