I'd suspect that many people may not admit it outright, but rather let it show up in their post as evidence of their agreement. Sometimes people can't even recognize they're in agreement until they see it in writting...sort of like finally realizing the absurdity of a thought once you speak it aloud... Yes, I have heard the arguments and it appears that neither side seems to be able to trust each other in their predictions of the future, which usually tends to be the case. I don't think its wise to risk the compounded consequences of the failure to bail them out in this relatively vulnerable time in our country and around the world based on aguments that disregard the obvious differences between the purchase of an airline ticket and buying a car. I also find difficulty in justifying questions like...."Why prolong the inevitable at the current rate?" when there have cleary been concessions and whatever current rate you choose to believe will become more viable in the short term. I believe they can and will survive; they've made it 100 years, I have no problem with supporting them in their desire to do 100 more......(yikes...I can just feel you guys cringe.) It also doesn't seem to be wise to allow the loss of all these jobs at such a rapid rate when we're trying to stop the bleeding as it is.....especially when the check has already been written...we're paying for this regardless. -edited to create a more pleasant tone.

For study, I have found that using 4-5 translations parallel to eachother helps in understanding a point that may be confusing or poorly translated. There is software that makes this very simple by highlighting the similarities and differences. It is very powerful software with some pretty impressive features and tons of books included. Logos Bible software: http://www.libronix.com/ I like the NASB for study, and use the ESV when just reading. The ESV is a literal translation like the NASB, but just a little more poetic. A girl I once met described it as a "beautiful translation." I generally stay away from dynamic equivalency translations like the NIV, but they are great for some and can be helpful in study. ultimately I don't care which translation people read....just grab one and dig in! I have heard this too, particularly in the southern states, specifically in Texas where it can get pretty nasty. There is definately a line that one could cross, but don't expect them to hold themselves accoutable to you. Christians have the same human emotions and go through the same BS you do. Many of them were also viscious athiest and that visciousness is still with us, it is a process. They do skrew up and there are measures to deal with this, but do not think that being indignant is a sin in itself or not Christian.
