it's not...just trying to understand them. I pointed out what I saw to be a conflict between Isiah and the Avodah and was hoping for an answer to this conflict. The answer that I recieved was basically that they just reject what Isiah said. Ok, thanks...that's what I figured. Nothing to see here, move along. Then, I think I'm more interested in discussion and understanding. There have been some Messianic Jews and Christian Expostiors that have been able to make sense of the text without having to reject everything they don't like. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

Yes, actually it appears you have. (though rather simplistic) Forgive me. My main purpose here was trying to reconcile the Avodah with the verses found in Isiah 1:11-14, and though I haven't been able to do so, my studies have led me to Mathew 23:1-4 and have given me a little more insight into the heart of a Jew from my Christian prespective. (although I believe we can talk extensively about how this would be viewed after Christ fulfilled the Law, but that is another topic all together...) Futhermore, it must be noted that I made a very basic error in calling someone rabbi (post#25) given the verses found in Mathew 23:8-12. (completly forgot about that...I knew somthing didn't feel right.) Lastly, I appreciate everyones contributions to this thread. God Bless. Then how are we supposed to discuss our faith and try to reach some sort of an understanding of what we/others believe and why...with telepathy? That's ridiculous. Yet here you are debating religion with your "beliefs." How Ironic! ...would you like to include "writings" or some sort of logic to back up your claim as well? 13. Yes; which was exactly my point. Very well counsel, point taken. But let the record show that it appears you have started the chain of back n' forthness for the sake of extremist competition. 14. Yeah, but the don't threaten in public to cut people's heads off, either. mh . You obviously are ignoring my post #10 above: Dude, I seriously can't take this anymore...well, ok, not seriously...but geeze we get the point already. Didn't you say you thought this type of "competing" was appauling? I mean getting to the bottom of eachothers religious text is one thing, but this back n' forth extremist murder crap is just getting ridiculous...pesonally I don't think it really comes down to faith for any extremist, they are just using it as an excuse to be the haters they are... So God found animal sacrifices an abomonation and unacceptable but was only happy once he'd had a human sacrifice. Hmmmm..... What are you talking about, the Old Testament is is clear about what was going on: Isiah 53: 1 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. 11 After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied ; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Psalm 22: 1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning? 2 O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, and am not silent. 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel. [a] 4 In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. 5 They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed. 6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people. 7 All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads: 8 "He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him." 9 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother's breast. 10 From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God. 11 Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help. 12 Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me. 13 Roaring lions tearing their prey open their mouths wide against me. 14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted away within me. 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. 16 Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced [c] my hands and my feet. 17 I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me. 18 They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing. 19 But you, O LORD, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me. 20 Deliver my life from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs. 21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions; save [d] me from the horns of the wild oxen. 22 I will declare your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise you. 23 You who fear the LORD, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! Revere him, all you descendants of Israel! 24 For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help. 25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you [e] will I fulfill my vows. 26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; they who seek the LORD will praise him— may your hearts live forever! 27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, 28 for dominion belongs to the LORD and he rules over the nations. 29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him— those who cannot keep themselves alive. 30 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. 31 They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn— for he has done it. So it is clear what's going on here...If you don't believe, you don't believe...you are in the comfort of many. Please, just study the text and pray for understanding. Peace Skyrad, and God Bless.

All the verses you've listed have to do with sacraficing their children to all these other gods, specifically Molech...this isn't even close to what we're talking about here. Lev. 18:21 You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the LORD. Deu. 12:31 You shall not worship the LORD your God in that way, for every abominable thing that the LORD hates they have done for their gods, for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods. Jer. 32:34-35 They set up their abominations in the house that is called by my name, to defile it. They built the high places of Baal in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, though I did not command them, nor did it enter into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin. Well, for quite a while you could buy it from the Pope. Yes, and those indulgences are still accepted...Like money my family gives to the Catholic Church that's supposed to get my grandmother out of Limbo, a place not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. It ticks me off so much... Matthew 21:12-13 Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. "It is written," he said to them, " 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it a 'den of robbers.'" Well, Saint Stephen, James the Great, Philip the Apostle, Matthew the Evangelist, James the Just, Matthias, Saint Andrew, Saint Mark, Saint Peter, Apostle Paul, Saint Jude, Saint Bartholomew, Thomas the Apostle, Luke the Evangelist, Simon the Zealot, and Antipas of Pergamum would be a partial list. C'mon dude, we're talking about atonement here. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

You are simply out of your depth. These verses are a call to repentance. ? Not in my interpretation. Or mine, I think your quote is very apt. There you go twisting things up again. That is not my interpretation either. I already disclosed what vereses I was talking about when I said that, but you conveniently left them out. But yes, there are many, not few, but many that will not make it because they never had a personal relationship with Christ. You do understand that those are the words of Christ, right? The fact is that there are many "Christians" that only give lip service and/or rely on meaningless religious rituals to save them...they have no faith in God and do not understand his promises and certainly don't repent. There are many people like some televagelists and pastors of Churches that exploit scripture and take advantage of people for their own personal gain. And when I was growing up, Christmas hardly had anything to do with Christ, but rather Santa Clause and all our precious gifts...It has become a materealistic sham to distract our minds from what it is all about...Christ. The Jews are God's Chosen People, and though it has been a wild roller coaster of a ride, they will always be His people and He will redeem them...It is no secret that God has a special place in his heart for Jews, specifically the last Jews on Earth before he fufills the prophecy of establishing his earthly Kingdom in Israel. If it wasn't by the Jews, through the Jews I doubt I would or even could be a believer in the true Messiah. Jews have been a major influence in my life, specifically one Jewish Rabbi in Clearwater, FL who I'v studied under extensively. He has taught me much about the scriptures and has accepted Christ as the true Messiah promised by God. ?? The temple was destroyed aproximately 2000 years ago and the animal sacrafices for the atonement of sin have ceased...Could it be because the only sacrafice acceptable to God occured on Mt Calvary/Golgatha once and for all approximately 2000 years ago...As I said, it is clear that God takes no pleasure in the blood of bulls, and lambs and goats. Thank you! It was a bitter sweet moment meditating on where the true atonement came from...Christ Jesus, the Son of God... Where else? 1 The vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah son of Amoz saw during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. A Rebellious Nation 2 Hear, O heavens! Listen, O earth! For the LORD has spoken: "I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me. 3 The ox knows his master, the donkey his owner's manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand." 4 Ah, sinful nation, a people loaded with guilt, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the LORD; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him. 5 Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted. 6 From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness— only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with oil. 7 Your country is desolate, your cities burned with fire; your fields are being stripped by foreigners right before you, laid waste as when overthrown by strangers. 8 The Daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a city under siege. 9 Unless the LORD Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah. 10 Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah! 11 "The multitude of your sacrifices— what are they to me?" says the LORD. "I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. 12 When you come to appear before me, who has asked this of you, this trampling of my courts? 13 Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations— I cannot bear your evil assemblies. 14 Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts my soul hates. They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them. 15 When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood; 16 wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, 17 learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. [a] Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. 18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; 20 but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." For the mouth of the LORD has spoken. 21 See how the faithful city has become a harlot! She once was full of justice; righteousness used to dwell in her— but now murderers! 22 Your silver has become dross, your choice wine is diluted with water. 23 Your rulers are rebels, companions of thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow's case does not come before them. 24 Therefore the Lord, the LORD Almighty, the Mighty One of Israel, declares: "Ah, I will get relief from my foes and avenge myself on my enemies. 25 I will turn my hand against you; I will thoroughly purge away your dross and remove all your impurities. 26 I will restore your judges as in days of old, your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you will be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City." 27 Zion will be redeemed with justice, her penitent ones with righteousness. 28 But rebels and sinners will both be broken, and those who forsake the LORD will perish. 29 "You will be ashamed because of the sacred oaks in which you have delighted; you will be disgraced because of the gardens that you have chosen. 30 You will be like an oak with fading leaves, like a garden without water. 31 The mighty man will become tinder and his work a spark; both will burn together, with no one to quench the fire." and you call me a false prophet then you quote scripture about which you know nothing: Then you spit in my face: Honest...I care, and just want an answer to what atonement these Jews who celebrate Yom Kippur are talking about. It's a simple question, and nobody wants to give the only obvious answer, because they don't believe it an have nowhere else to turn. Why is there such hostility against the verses I've given that come straight out of their book? It's not even from the New Testament...you can even go to the hebrew version...same treatment no matter how you interpret it...it's quite clear.
