Confectionaries: which one, (two, three, etc...) should I make?
hisgoofyness replied to Icon134's topic in The Bonfire
I am in no way trying to sway your decision. Strictly stating the facts. One of those girls is more of a wine drinker anyway. Bring her a bottle of Rosato to get her going. Red Bull and Vodka is also a pleaser... I am merely telling you that you would please "more" people with Heineken than with Newcastle in speaking of beer alone; but if your goal is to only make "her" happy, then you have made your decision!!! No matter, the vultures will drink whatever you bring... Hell they even drink my "High Life" occasionally when I leave some at the DZ, and they used to run from it like the plague!!! But if you asked the true beer drinking regulars, the answer would surely be Heineken... You girls don't drink enough beer to have a vote! Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me! -
Go to the summer solstice boogie in Wasilla!!! I lived in Anchorage for 4 years, if you can drive through Denali State Park do so. It is beautiful. Hopefully you will get to see the Northern Lights, but it is tough in the summer... Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

hisgoofyness replied to sunnydee123's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Sweeeeeet... but, I thought Thomaston didn't allow belly-people... I am looking forward to good jumps, good food, & good times had by all !!! (By the way Chris, I think Jenn may be ready for a little more Electric 8-way action!!! ) Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me! -

You kids have fun... but it appears that I will not be coming either... I was soooo looking forward to some Casa crazyness with all my midwestern friends! ... but, due to some unfortunate events, I have decided to go learn a thing or two from Chuck Blue instead )!!! You kids play nice !!! Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me! -
I too am very interested in getting in to BASE also. I live in Chattanooga and also jump around the Atlanta DZ's. I have heard the story behind the tar & feather comment... I want to see the video!!! Anyway, my DZO is a base jumper and I have spoken with him some about it. I would like to meet the other "locals" too. Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

It would help greatly to have the full details of the dream... If no conclusion can be gained from this alone, we may have to have a real time re-enactment. I am just trying to help... Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

Unfortunately I don't have rear pegs... I have passenger floorboards to match mine... ...else I would have already tried that! Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

Less than that of a lot of the sportbike guys around here!!!!! I have seen cheeks that look like they could wrap around the undertail... bwaaahahahahahaha FYI - my sportbike never has the rear seat on it... just the cowling... I only take ladies on the Fat Boy... It has a detachable backrest... much safer for the passenger... never forget the first time i saw a sportbike buddy take off from a red light in a wheelie and dump his chick... luckily she didnt get hurt... she was pissed and rode the rest of the day with me on my fat boy... thank god she was a hottie!!! It's not an assumption... I have tried many many times to get the front wheel off the ground... "She just cant do it Captain" Now, I have been able to crank up the rpms going from 1st to 2nd, dump the clutch, and break the rear tire loose and kick it out sideways all the way through 3rd!!! That always gets a rise out of the crowd on the deck at Hooter's Bike Night!!! Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

The first street bike I rode was also a CBR600F3. (not that I would suggest it as a first bike) I tend to disagree on this somewhat. With that reasoning I should be jumping a Cobalt 120 right now, because ultimately that's what I want to fly... Scenario... New rider on a 4 lane public road. Rider on left side. Car following closely behind motorcycle. Car on right of motorcyle. Car on right decides to change lanes to the left to pass slower driver in front of them and does not see motorcycle. Rider sees this happening and with "tailgater" behind, rider is forced to speed up quickly to avoid both car changing lanes and head on collison of oncoming traffic to the left. (Insert self) If i were to (panic) downshift and throttle too hard on my Gixxer, i would have my front end 3 or 4 feet in to the air (more panic for an inexperienced rider to find half of their control surface in the air); granted a situation i could handle, but maybe not so for a newb. Now, if I were to have the same reaction on my Fat Boy, I would merely speed up (much less chance of losing control). Here again... just my $.02 What do I know? Not a damn thing really, I am still learning every time I throw my leg over a bike... Take what I say with a grain of salt. Whatever you decide... Take the safety course. It helps. I took it after being a rider for several years and found out I had some bad habits... It also lowered my insurance (the real reason I signed up for the course)...... I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in the early 90's. I can't wait to get up to this boogie one year soon!!!!! I still have a few friends in the service there. One in particular lives in Wasilla! I can't wait... Hopefully next year... Who all from here actually goes to this boogie? I would love to take enough time off work to drive from TN/GA area. Anyone for a road trip next year??? I used to get my Sportster down to a knee like that, but it has a lot more ground clearance. I get my Fat Boy down to the bolts of the floorboards all the time. Here is my take as a rider of both crotch rockets (i also have a GSXR 750) and HD's (cruisers): With my ability to "toss" my Fat Boy around corners,... well, as tight and as hard as the bike will allow; I can ride my Gixxer much more efficiently because of this ability. It takes much less effort for me to ring out the Gixxer through the mountains because of pushing my Fat Boy to its limits on the same roads. I actually scare myself from time to time on just how low I take my Gixxer... (thinking: God please don't let there be any loose gravel in that blind corner) Here is a scenario for ya: Take a cruiser rider who likes to push their bike to its limits and a sportbike rider; have them switch bikes. Now give them a nice curvy mountain ride (i.e. one of my favorites close to me is Deal's Gap in the Smokey Mountains). I would be willing to bet the cruiser rider on the sportbike would fair better than the sportbike rider on the cruiser. Tossing 900lbs vs 400lbs makes a huge difference... Of course, this is just my opinion... and I don't know shiat... Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

Wow, I will have to get video of this!!!!!!!!!! Just make sure Peanut empties his pockets first.... Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

Hell I am 5'11 and I still prefer the feel of the lower COG. Especially with my feet kicked out past the crash bars!!! FYI: It is not safe to ride with your legs resting on highway pegs; but I love cruising like that!!! Goudha is for Buddha, and that's good enough for me!

Most people here have given sound advice... I have riden since I was a kid, my early bikes were hand-me-down freebies from family members. The very first bike that "I" actually purchased was a 1999 Harley Sportster, 1200 Custom, very nice ride; the only chromed out bike in the Sporty line up. I rode it for a season and realized I was way too big for the bike. I sold it and bought a lighlty used 1998 Fat Boy, which I still have. In my opinion, the Fat Boy is much easier to ride. It has more cc's, but it is geared much differently. The Sporty would blow the doors off the Fat Boy. The Fat Boy also sits lower and therefore has a lower center of gravity; easier to ride as a newb. I now have the Fat Boy, and a GSXR 750. (read: bar bike/mountain bike) With half the cc's of the Fat Boy the Gixxer is a much faster bike! Basically what I am saying is: CC's is not a true governing measure for a first bike...
