  1. Now I know where the idea for tele tubbies came from.
  2. Olbermann always has a nasty way about him no matter what or who he's talking about. RIP Leslie "Shirley" Nielson.

  6. --"But how do we obtain this cadre of worthy citizens fidgeting unhappily in their honors and dignities? Given that politics is like war even more than it’s like vivisection, we could draft them. In World War II this worked out well. Randomly selected young and fit members of the Greatest Generation performed their duties admirably. Then again, in Vietnam, with the members of the following Notsohotso Generation, this didn’t work out well. Or, rather, it worked out well for the North Vietnamese. "----- This quote grabs my ass. He insults the Vietnam draftee. I would like to see the study that proves they were losers as he implys. I think the draftees are the same in any war (civil war,WWI,WWII, Korea, etc), some good some bad. Why did they have to get drafted, because they weren't so gunho to volunteer. I hate to say it but it was the Greatest Generation that put us in Vietnam. The end result is their fault/legacy. It is their black mark and don't try to move it to their sons and daughters. RIP Phillip, Warren, Justin, Fred, Bill, Kenny, and Glenn. Sorry about the rant.
  7. How about jousting. We have run out. They told us in the early 70's we only had 20 or 30 years left of oil. When I go to the pump and it says "gasoline" I know it is a lie. But I keep my mouth shut as my truck still runs.
  8. Rotator cuff surgery last year. one torn tendon screwed back down. Some bone trimming. Lap for the trimming and cut open for the repair. Had the block as well as general. The block was a pain in the neck because the doc had to poke and poke my neck to get the nerve. surgery was about 8:30 and I was home about noon. Arm was numb down to fingers but started to get feeling back late afternoon. Maybe it help with the pain for half a day but I don't think much after that. Check the cost. 1st statement was $1,800 for shot which BC declined. Don't remember the final charge for the shot but I think less than $100. Ask questions!! Somebody just had mentioned to get the block because there is less pain, so I asked for the block. Did not know if insurance was going to pay for it, what it cost, what it did! I was pretty stupid on that one.
  9. Six months or a year of this media hype royal wedding news will probably drive me nuts again like it did in 81.

  11. TSA wants everybody to go through body scanners so they will make this body patdown procedure as bad as they can make it so everybody will just go through the body scanners. Anybody know if big Sis goes through the scanners?
  12. Maybe. China sub approaches coast with two US attack subs following. China launches missle. Why would you want to tell china that you had the ability to tail their sub. Best to just play dumb, maybe.
  13. I agree. That's why I titled subject FROM instead of TO. James Bond could take care of this.

  15. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/11/09/national/main7036716.shtml Quote from Robert Ellsworth >>When asked, however, what he thought it might be, the former ambassador said it could possibly have been a missile test timed as a demonstration of American military might as President Obama tours Asia. "It could be a test-firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile from a submarine … to demonstrate, mainly to Asia, that we can do that," speculated Ellsworth. Ellsworth said such tests were carried out in the Atlantic to demonstrate America's power to the Soviets, when there was a Soviet Union, but he doesn't believe an ICBM has previously been tested by the U.S. over the Pacific.
  16. This proves that alcohol is the most dangerous drug around.

  18. You do know of course.. that helicopeters do not really fly.... One of the best rescue chopper pilots in the USAF once told me he did not actually fly the thing.. he TRIED really hard to maintain it in a controlled state of crash at all times. Most of the time... many of the chopper drivers are pretty good at that.. sometimes.. not so much This guy was either very good or very lucky to put it down after what appears the tail rotor hit the deck. I'd like to know what that "accident just waiting to happen" net under the chopper was doing there?
