One of the comments I read was some guy said he would have just stood outside the guys window and laughed for a couple hours. I remember back in 79 I was building a house out on the beach. Well these tourist girls pulled off the road and got stuck. We grabed our shovels and proceeded to dig and push them out of the sand. One of the girls kept complaining about how, we in Florida, shouldnt have sand next to the road.. While we were helping the girls this guy crawls out of his car stuck in the sand about 100' away. This was the end of the point so traffic had to turn around. He was obviously still drunk from the night before. He comes over while we were working on getting the girls car out and he kept saying that we couldn't dig it out. Kind of pissed me off so after we got the girls car out and sent them on their way, we just went back to work on the house without offering to help him. He tried a little bit to get his car out but gave up and had about a two mile walk to the highway. Attitude is very important.

You ask for so much info I really will offer just a few suggestions. 1. Go to a couple dropzones and spend some time talking to the folks about training, etc. 2. Try to have all the money to complete training to get your License on hand. Plan for several extra jumps more than the minimun requirement. I would not give a DZ all the money up front unless they have a proven track record of not short changing students and it saves you a good amount of money for the package deal. You could get seriously injured on jump 1. What happens to your money? 3. Start training when the weather will be good for several months. John, I've known about that, but always wondered how it worked? I mean, if The Prez is cruisin' along at 30K in AF1, how is it that 30Nmi TFR bubble doesn't instanly viloate many folks toolin' along in thier Cessnas and the like (not haulin' dope), down in the weeds, squwaking 1200 and not talking to anyone (and don't have to given they're in the correct airspace)? What am I missing? TFR's follow the President and are usually only active when he is on the ground. When the President went on that bus tour last year (in those brand new million dollar Canadian busses) the TFR followed him in the busses. Usually the TFR circle center will be given as a radial and distance off of VOR's.

True, but the operator is actually doing everything backwards in the sense that normally you are controlling where the bucket goes. Half of that operation the bucket is stationary and he moving the cab and tracks to a certain point. Like driving a car backwards somewhat. Give me years of practice I could drive as well as I drive forward. The operator probably didn't have the practice time to be completly smooth operating this way. Just my perspective.

I would question the business acumen of anyone who pays that high a tax rate on that much income. At the very least I would question their choice of a CPA. Obama paid about 32% on about 5.5 million a couple years ago. Had a lot of book deal income. Must have the same CPA as Newt.
