Not taking away anything from the swoopers, but from a spectators point of view (especially non-skydiving), they want to see a gentle, soft, stand up landing. qouted from the editorial "To use the gymnastics analogy again, a competitor who does a terrific routine on the bars, but stumbles on the dismount doesn't leave the spectators-or the judges-with a good impression" How do ya like it Johnny? -

I really enjoyed reading it. Page 39 "Stick the Landing" How do ya like it Johnny? -
I have an Aerodyne Icon and a Javelin. They are both great rigs. What I really like about the Icon is the way it feels over the shoulders. If you order a Javelin be ready to spend much $$$ The Icon doesn't have a lot of expensive options. There are only a few things that you would pay extra for, and it has a lower base price. There is an overall need for more canopy training. Before and after the A liscence. There are great courses like Brians and Scott Millers. Every DZ should have this type of program. New skydivers seem to worry about their freefall skills more than their canopy control. How do ya like it Johnny?

Is the Flora-Bama open? I thought that the hurricane wiped it out, and it was still being re-built. Re-opening in the spring http://www.florabama.com/ How do ya like it Johnny?

I used to leave mine out also, because they seemed to be just a little bit too long. During a boogie Vladi Pesa told me that I should tuck them in and not leave them out. I can't remember his reasoning but it made since at the time. About a month ago, we were crammed in the otter, and I was sitting next to an AFF student, and his rig was all over me. It was very tight. At about 11,000 ft getting ready and checking my handles I see that my arm cut away was pulled about half way out. There was nobody else on the plane that knew how to fix it for me. I quickly took the suit off, put my rig on and jumped without the suit. A waste of a perfect sunset wingsuit flight. Since then I started leaving them out of the keepers again, so if I'm in a crowded situation again, I can keep an eye on them and give them a little tug if needed. Is there anybody out there that knows of a reason that leaving them out is not a good idea? How do ya like it Johnny?

I've seen Furys before that were so old and wore out that they didn't even make good table cloths any more, and they had never been re-lined. How do ya like it Johnny?

I have taken very athletic looking people (muscular, trim, fit) on tandem jumps, that have tensed up and gone into the "dying cockroach" de-arched position. How do ya like it Johnny?

I jumped my new Aerodyne Rig (Icon/Pilot/Smart) on my wingsuit this weekend. The corners are open enough and it works great. How do ya like it Johnny?

I went to Punta Cana about two years ago. The people there are very nice. Never heard anything about a DZ. From what I've seen, away from the resort it is a very poor country. We rented a car and drove to Bayhibe to Scuba. Driving was an extreme adventure. From what I've seen of the country, I doubt that I would jump any rental gear. How do ya like it Johnny?

All the more reason not to buy a used AAD How do ya like it Johnny?

So you don't have to replace the batteries every two years, just the 4 year service? How do ya like it Johnny?

I have a new rig that needs an AAD. Right now there is the Cypress2 and the Vigil. My other rig has a cypress. When I think about buying a cypress as far as the cost goes, its like buying time. For example, ( These cost are estimates not exact figures) New Cypress 2..........$1250 2 Year batteries........$ 85 4 Year Service...........$ 200 (?) 6 Year batteries............$85 8 Year Service...........$ 200 10 Year Batteries..........$85 12 Years Expires............... Total......................$1905 or about $160 per year to have the AAD in your rig. in the classifieds I saw a cypress listed used with 3 1/2 years left, needing 8 year for $390. This would cost $675 or about $193/year for its remaining lifetime. I must say that a new Vigil is looking better and better. How do ya like it Johnny?
