Had it been rammed by the Oscar Meyer wiener-mobile, what a fucking accident that would had been. True. It would be a shame to see that nice artwork get banged up though. But what do I know? -

What about this? http://plancksconstant.org/blog1/2006/11/beetle-pube.html I don't find it offensive, but do think it should be banned. ETA Darn it, thought I had this link stuff figured out. But what do I know? -
Getting too technical for me. I just like to fly. 120sqft wingsuit? Yeah, that would be cool, but a bitch to fly I bet. Have fun! But what do I know?

Exactly. For those that blame democrats or republicans, especially when they get so worked up about it, shows how well we are being manipulated. Do you want to be enslaved by government, or by corporations? Guess what, the same people run both of them. The harder we fight, the happier they are. I don't want to be a slave, period! How do we get that choice? +1. I really like how every one on this site fights for the conservatives or liberals as if their elected officials are on their "team". Democrats, republican, doesn't matter 99% of them who get elected don't represent the average citizen, they have fucked us for decades, and will continue to do so. But what do I know?

I'm up here in Kenai for a few weeks and looking for any skydivers to meet and jump with, or just shoot the breeze. PM or post a message if you're interested. Thanks, Ed But what do I know?

I prefer an altimeter and an audible on every jump, but have jumped without either. I use them as backups to my MK5 eyeball altimeter. If all else fails, pull. But what do I know?

Do a Google Images search for ring avulsion (warning: graphic images) and you'll see why I never jump with rings. I don't either, and I take it off for other things too. I already had those pics in my mind when I made the decision. It looks pretty much like I thought. Graphic, but worth it, if it wakes anybody up. One more: I heard of a guy that shorted out a gold ring on a car battery. It welded itself in place and he only got free when it melted. Ouch! But what do I know?

Why not? I don't think there is any proof otherwise. But what do I know?

After complaining about people playing word games in your previous post. Hahahahahaha! But what do I know?

Pics/Vid or it didn't happen. But what do I know?

I'd say no. Anything deployed after touchdown would be acceptable though. I hope to see this done one day, and I think it can be. Good luck Jeb and others. But what do I know?

What John said. What John said, he took back, let's remember. Never give up. If you have a high rate of descent and a high forward speed, PLF like your life depends on it. At that point, it's that, or give up, ie: kiss your ass good bye. We all know the best choice. But what do I know?
-
The problem with this is if you have too much downward speed you have given up some of the shock absorbtion the legs provide. If things go wrong, there is not much between you and a serious back injury. I'm not saying things will go wrong with you, but a new jumper coming down hard will do better with a PLF, using the legs to translate downward into forward motion. Forward motion can be challanging, but it beats that sudden stop. Of course as Andy said, botched PLF's don't count. If necessary, PLF like your life depends on it. With any luck, you can get up, dust yourself off, and go do it again. PS: When you can do a good slide, as described above, that works well too. It does, IMHO, require a bit more skill than some new jumpers are ready for. But what do I know?

Good on ya. I have spent enough on pack jobs to pay for 100 jumps. Don't do that. I have to admit that my lazy side has no regrets, and I did have the money at the time. But, looking back, I'd rather have the 100 jumps. Just my 240,000 cents. But what do I know?

Knocked out during skydive, what do you do?

Do you consider that the AAD can kill you, in a situation where you would have been absolutely fine if you did not have one? there are always two sides to the coin... Yes, I have considered that, in fact, I got into an equally heated argument in which it appeared I was against AAD's. Sometimes people are so quick to argue their side that they don't really listen to what someone is saying. But what do I know? -
wingsuit landing without parachute project
fasted3 replied to profesorlino's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Heck I hit 0 mph doing that, at least accorging to my Alti Track. Not to quibble though, because if you're only falling at 8 MPH at 20' altitude, even if you then drop like a rock, you still won't be going down more than 20 mph. And I was talking about a water landing. See my post on the previous page. Lot's of people survive high forward speed water impacts, speed boats, etc. I think you will skip on top until you slow down enough to dig in, then it's pretty much the same if you started from a wingsuit or an inner tube. Or maybe not... LOL ' But what do I know? -

Good answer, but can you guarantee that you can prevent it? If you are looking for guarantees you're in the wrong goddamn sport. So sorry you missed the point of this thread adios again But what do I know? -

You wanted options? Ok. Option 1: Sell your AAD (and perhaps your rig) and buy a new monitor. You are absolutely right. I type and can't see what I've written. Reciepe for disaster, yes. So I will go away. Maybe what I've said is useless, and if so, I'm sorry. Adios. But what do I know? -

[reply? (and by the way... Just HOW DO you expect that scenario would manifest itself???../reply] A good question, and I will answer it. Somebody hits you in freefall. You can't see them, because they come from your blind side. You are doing everythihng right and some Idiot smacks you silly. Thinik it can't happen to you? I think it can, especially when you are jumping with a lot of other people. They will not mean to crash into you, but they do it anyway. Maybe they got into someone else's burble, or just screwed up. In any case they crash into you, and you never saw it coming. Maybe you can ve sure that this will never happebn to you, but I don't think so. But what do I know? -

Yes, your answer is a good one for preventing getting knocked out itn the first place, unfortunately, that is not the question I asked. You DID get knocked out, despice your best efforets to avoid it. Now what? That is the question. But what do I know? -

Duh. First you say, "you're alright girl, you're alright." Then you climb on ones back and run across them like an Aussie sheep dog to the shore. Really dude that should have been obvious. I didn't offer the option of a sheep dog saving you, but thanks for thinking of it. But what do I know?
