  1. You know Ive always wanted to jump at the Farm. Maybe a late winter trip is in order since we dont jump here when its cold... Muff #5048
  2. In all fairness you neglected to mention that in your origional post. BTW, how do you "sign yell" at people? Im sure there must be a way to convey how you feel to those that piss you off mid conversation.
  3. But isnt that the way it usually works? There is a chick that works here in the same building as me and she constantly has an elitist attitude (you know the opinionated bitch that nobody wants to talk to). Not only that but she's pretty much a fatass, and very sensitive about her weight. Anyway, she cought me on a "bad day" (I was pissed because I had to work late and couldnt go jump) and had the nerve to tell me how much of an anit-social prick I was because all I cared about is skydiving. Then I came up with something clever. I told her to go eat another doughnut and leave me the fuck alone (you have to be carefull to to call someone "fat" or you can get into big trouble). I havent had a problem with this person since.

  5. Sabre and Nitron......wow I had to digg pretty deep to come up with those names. Muff #5048
  6. No offense intended, but I find it a little silly that a guy who keeps arguing that 'my jump numbers are my business' is judging someone else based on their jump numbers. No offense intended, but he made his jump #'s known to everyone and still gave advice as if he knew what he was talking about and how canopies should be flown. As of right now you still have no idea how many jumps I have. You cant judge me on jump #'s which is exactly the way I want it. Again for the profile nazi's, the question was not "Do you think that this is a safe wingloading for my experience level?". My question was is it normal for people to buy brand new gear, not be impressed as they thought they would be, and start looking for something else that they will buy a YEAR FROM NOW with many more jumps under their belt? 7. No offense intended, but go up your jump #'s then come talk to me. Dicking around under canopy is how you find out how it flies. That would be why you pull high. As for talking to people I actually KNOW I had an instructor tell me at 70 jumps that I was ready for a Nitron 170 (I didnt think I was ready yet). Point is opinions vary quite a bit and its really hard to determine what the BEST path to go down would be. Muff #5048
  8. Who cares what the motor looks like? Its under the hood.....er I mean bonnett. Muff #5048
  9. Looks like that cat is saying: "Not happy! You put me down and feed me." Muff #5048
  10. I actually did that "put your hand down and try to catch yourself thing" once. Only once. I have learned about harness turns and I watch skydiving videos like its my job. Thats also what makes me want to take canopy controll courses and pull high to dick around. Im not out there rying to get hurt which is why I WANT to get as good as possible flying the canopy I have. I just dont think that it will take much more than about 150 jumps or less to do that. Muff #5048
  11. They are made in both 9mm and .40 smith. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walther_P99 Muff #5048
  12. True that. Even if I do buy new again Ill always buy off the shelf. Waiting 12 weeks and having to use rental/borrowed gear sucks. To everyone else: I actually typed up a long post, but decided not to post it in the interest of not pissing off people that I may meet and want to jump with later in life.
  13. Without trying to sound like a dick here, my jump numbers are my own buisness and honestly I could fill out my profile to say anything I wanted to so whats the point? I think people put too much stock into profiles on this website. I prefere to talk about the subject at hand without someone going ape shit about jump numbers they THINK you have. Muff #5048
  14. You could say that about people who have their rig stolen out of their car, home, dz etc. Muff #5048
  15. I thought if you went to a dealership with cash in hand (less than 10k) then you could buy a car no questions asked. Muff #5048
  16. The kind of training Scott Lutz recieved? Muff #5048
  17. A canopy controll course (or even a couple) is definately something I plan on doing. Again folks, I would like to convey that I'm not even going to buy another canopy for another 150 or so jumps. I plan on flying the hell out of what I have (if for nothing else because it cost enough) for quite a while. Muff #5048
  18. You know I was inches away from buying a Stilletto 190 but eveyone told me if you dont load the hell out of them they fly like crap, and now I'm hearing this? Ive also been told my many that once you go elliptical you dont go back. Muff #5048
  19. Funny you should mention that. I actually hooked it up myself. But in all fairness I'm very good at following directions and 3 different people at the dz (including 2 riggers) checked it out before it was pack and jumped. To answer the other question no I did not demo this canopy first. I can be a bit of a compulsive buyer sometimes. I DID fly a Sabre2 210 and thought "wow I really like the way this thing flares". I had been flying a 210 for some time by then and was actually jumping different varieties of 190's while waiting for delivery of my new canopy. After about 15-20 jumps on 190's (silhouette's, sabre1's, spectres etc.) I started to regret my compulisive buying. Muff #5048
  20. Ok maybe 1.34 is a bit of a jump but a 170 would put me right at 1.18 which shouldnt be too big of a jump from 1.05. My point is I just bought a BRAND NEW canopy, put all of 1 jump on it (pulled at 6k BTW to "play" with it), and am not as impressed with its performance as I origionally thought I would be. Thats all. Muff #5048
  21. Good advice and I do plan to demo demo demo, before I buy again. If I would have demoed the Sabre2 190 I would have bought the 170 straight away. Dont get me wrong it isnt a bad canopy, but I would like something with just a touch more speed and responsiveness. Muff #5048
  22. No. I meant this time next year. I was thinking af maybe going with a 170 or even a 150. The Crossfire2 looks quite appealing and I figure Ill be able to get another 100-150 jumps on the one I have between then and now. A Xfire2 150 would put me at a 1.34ish (out the door) WL which is right on the canopy progression track that I should be on (providing I handle this canopy very well throughout the next year). Seems like ever since I put on SSgt Ive been able to start to buy the skydiving things I couldnt afford before then, and its so nice.
