  1. So I went to the tunnel last night and came to the conclusion that I'm not quite as stable as I thought. I have no problem staying belly to earth, but I cant seem to keep from backsliding or fowardsliding at any given time. Now I know its possible because the guy who was hanging on to me (who appearantly works there a lot) can run into, jump, do a front flip, and go into a sit without any problems at all. Does anyone have any pointers? Muff #5048
  2. Looks like she wanted a cold one while she was in bed. Muff #5048
  3. Chris Angel (mind freak)? I think it would be a cool trick for him to skydive without a parachute and somehow walk away from it. .........Damn I'm bored... Muff #5048
  4. Your first tandem is just a ride (no maneuvering involved except arching at least here anyway). And on AFF, at least with me, the instructor hangs on to your leg loop so he/she can pull for you if you brain lock. I would actually not look at it as "Oh my Lord!!!", but more as a "this is gonna be great" outlook. Keep us posted, and good luck. Muff #5048
  5. i never did a tandem.. i went straight for aff. on first jump, i froze so much, i couldnt think about backing out. on jump nr. two, i thought, oh shit, is that really for me, do I REALLY WANT TO DO THIS!? well, i'm on jump nr. 28 now, and i love it!!! That was how it was on my previous to second tandem (#1). My brother was the influencing factor of my decision (+ he paid for it ). I didnt for one second want to let him down and he's 2 years younger than me. Now I'm working on AFF. You will either love it or hate it, but I reccomend trying it at least once or you might kick yourself because you'll never know. As far as your friends discouraging you from jumping, I wouldnt pay too much attention to that. I'm in the military and I had to get a *hazard activity form* filled out and sighned by everyone in my chain of command all the way up to my commander and they all tried to sway me from doing it. Chin up and have fun. Its a life altering experiance. Mike Muff #5048
  6. Still there last i saw. They just havent been running it lately. Plus the king air gets to altitude in about 9 min!!!. And back down by 12min. Thats oodles of loads since the sun doesnt go down until about 9:30 or so. Muff #5048
  7. They used to have a skyvan then they borrowed a twin otter from Arizona for a while then they borrowed a super otter from Arizona, now we have the king air. And yes Skydive Ogden is the shit!! Muff #5048
  8. It only works if your here. I'm not sending a $17 case of beer several states away (shiping would be more than the beer). I'll tell you what I will do though, I'll drink a case of beer and pretend I sent it to you. BTW Matt, we always drink beer when we hang out anyway and I *usually* buy it (unless I'm broke). 10. Do you think US military members should have to pay federal tax. IMHO its kind of like paying your own salary. Muff #5048
  11. I have nothin' but respect for Air Force pilots. Any AF pilot that can f* up a spot so badly that half a Ranger battalion ends up landing on the Burger King roof and parking lot instead of the LZ is dy-na-mite in my book. Man that caused a sensation on post... I'm not a pilot. Muff #5048
  12. Well, according to his profile, he is from Spokane. People have a tendancy to get terribly bored over on that side of the mountains... His profile also says he's in the Air Force, and people tend to get terribly bored in the Air Force because the Army is doing all the real work for them...
  13. Navigator 240 which is kind of odd since I only weigh 175 well around 190 with gear. It did take an unusually long time to get to the ground (which didnt matter to me. Just gettin my money's worth). I think that is why they had me fly around using the front risers. All in all a very docile canopy. Cant wait to go next weekend for my level 4
  14. They taught me pretty well. Like how to inspect your gear, what to do for a mal, how to use the front risers to lose altitude, ect. BTW, those little Cypres thingies are tricky little buggers to turn on. I just turned mine on on the plane ride up to altitude . Also corona does not = beer. Sam Adams is better. Muff #5048
  15. :1:15 First solo yesterday! Muff #5048
  16. Ever solo jump yesterday. IT WAS AWSOME!!! Thought the opening would be a little harder, but it wasnt too bad. The landing was a plf because thats what the instructor's told us to do weather we could stand it or not . Freefall was 55 sec of being stable belly to earth with 2 PRCP's, several COA's, and trim control (oh yeah, and that minor little pulling part ). All in all, the best skydive by far up to now! Muff #5048
  17. Fixed it for you. Muff #5048
  18. Another thing you have to look at is the long haul. Didnt they say those mines were worth billions? For a fraction of that I would think you could build a railroad or something. I dont know. Maybe this *is* the cheapest way of doing it. Greedy diomand mining bastards. Muff #5048
  19. Exactly. There are aircraft out there capable of hauling MOST of the shit those trucks are hauling. Muff #5048
  20. Used a Benchmade knife as a pry-bar. 6 months of physical therapy and a large scar later, I decided I would never do that shit again. Muff #5048
  21. NO way. Clearly they stuffed the parachute up the llama's ass know it would shit itself upon leaving the plane. Muff #5048
  22. My bad. It is clearly photoshop. Muff #5048
  23. ...did anyone figure this out. Furthermore, how did they coax it out of the airplane? Muff #5048
