  1. What if this, what if that. What if...... while the perp was duct taped to the flag pole a thunder storm blew in and the flag pole was struck by lightning. What if while the perp was duct taped to the pole some one driving by was texting, ran off the road and struck the flag pole and killed the perp. What if a right wing neo con ,,,,,, What if this was a pole rather than a narrative
  2. I suggest you look at post #4 and think about it for a second.
  3. Hi T No Brakes You mean like a non steerable round. Damn thats real army stuff. Mr T Do you remember your exit altitude for your FIRST freefall. One Jump Wonder
  4. Hi K I'll take a WAG based on your above statement that your connected with spaceland in some offical capacity. In response to your question "Who's responsible for this SNAFU? If your statement above is correct It was created by the DZ's professional marketing firm hired by the spaceland. IMO the DZ is responsiable. There's a very simple solution to this SNAFU and it can be taken care of without any input from USPA, DZ.com, competitors. Now that Spaceland is aware of the SNAFU they can correct it. Let the 09 USPA Nationals hosted by Spaceland begin without the background drama One Jump Wonder

  7. That is a nice touch. Our turbine DZ has a rack of great rental gear for $10 a hop. That's what I've used before. My first time to LP was this summer's boogie, but I'm definitely going back. It was great. John Is the turbine DZ your talking about Kapow in Wa state where you've been a partime employee for 15-20 yr's, The same DZ where your everyone's friend. I'm a little surprised to read that your renting gear from the DZ when you have a mal Fred at LP is looking better and better he's old school just like the folks at kapow, but what a differnce in customer service. Whats next DZ's charging a fee for retrieving a free bag and a ride from the LZ to the hanger. Of course any DZ is free to charge whatever they want for any service they provide, thats just business. 8. Hi Nice lady Looks like spaceland found a loophole in their contract with USPA to host the nationals this year. To bad so sad it's to late to do anything now except discuss, debate, wine etc. If USPA wants to close this "partner protection" loophole than it can be done by a mod to the boiler plate contract for future Nationals. If splaceland finds this mod to a future contract unacceptable then they won't have to submit a bid to host the next nationals. Where's my easy button
  9. Now that I've had the benifit of reading everyones opinions I'm almost surprised at some of the statements about the lack of due process to the poor misguided drunk that may even be innocent. But this is speakers corner so there will always someone willing to take the opposite side. SOP Based on what I've read the flag that got burned wasn't just a flag but one with a significant connection to a event in iraq. Did the perp know that he wasn't just burning any flag? Probably not,, but to bad for the perp the damage is done. Law rocket hit the nail on the head, some vets and their friends and families are wound up tight. Others are reaching a age where a sentence over a few yrs would be meaningless. When I first read the subject title I was afraid that after the perp was duct taped to the pole he had been set on fire. IMO The people at the VFW showed a lot of restraint in dealing with the alleged perp. To bad some Lawyer missed out on a paycheck to defend the perps rights. Lesson learned don't mess with the flag, don't mess with vets, One Jump Wonder
  10. When we first got married we discussed our vote with the "boss" after the fact. We soon found out that although we were both voteing sometimes we were voteing for different sides/people of the issue We continue to vote but the boss is more committed to the process than I am so I just cast my vote the same as hers. At least we're not cancelling ea others vote out. The only downside to this imo is by voteing it sets us up fory jury duty, and thats a bitch One Jump Wonder

  13. They are trying to hit a target that is 3 cm in diameter. ____________ That line is about 3 cm. Hell I can't figure out how they can see the damn thing. Sparky Sparky Please tell my wife that you made a typo. She convinced that line is 6 inch's long. FWIW I think the accuracy folks aim for the center of the pad/disc and until they get close enough to see the SIX INCH center for their final heal strike. I know you all don't want to see a pic of my ruler. Now THAT'S funny right there, I don't care who ya are! No problemo sparky I got this under control Told the wife to convert metric to US 1CM = 2 of my inch's One Jump Wonder

  16. Hi Nick "Are we manufacturing our own terrorists" The ones we caught? yes. It's major scary to see how little these two dumb shits value human life on a grand scale. But there prisons are full of these types in various forms. What was really accomplished? Success story for Homeland security, that will be balanced against their next failure. The cold war was "won" after 40 yr's and is now replaced by the war on terror. I don't expect to see a victory declared in my life time. But I'm getting old

  22. That presumes (a) the driver is insured, and (b) the driver's insurance company promptly pays a fair amount. Oftentime, though, it doesn't work out that way. Or that the pedestrian is also a driver and therefore has auto insurance, and also has good uninsured/under-insured motorist coverage. That's how I got most of my settlement when I got hit by a car as a pedestrian and ended up with some fairly sizable medical bills; the first $25,000 in settlement costs came out of his auto insurance (which was just at the state minimum levels) and the rest out of my uninsured/under-insured coverage. That's a good point, and quite correct. Of course, that also depends on the insured pedestrian's own insurance auto company paying him/her a fair amount on his/her UM/UIM claim. Sometimes they do, but sometimes they don't. Most auto insurance carriers' claims departments deal with UM/UIM claims just as stingily as they do with third-party claims, as the result of which there is a huge amount of UM/UIM claim litigation - between insured people and their own carriers - in virtually every state in the US. I'm not a lawyer Insurance co's make their money by collecting premiums and mimizing the amount they have to pay on claims. Lawyers make money up to 33% of the money collected from the insurance co's on behalf of their clients. I suggest that all UM/UIM policy holders obtain the maxium coverage they insurance co allows (check the rates for the increased coverage. In case of a claim the insurance co will look at the value of the claim and THEIR EXPOSURE based on the policy limits. We were able to partner with out insurance co and collect 80% of our policy limit in spite of our lawyers advise to settle for 20%. Why don't ABA tell people to buy as much UIM/UM coverage as they can afford.? FWIW the 33% lawyer contingency fee is negotiable also. Have a nice day One Jump Wonder
  23. Hi W You don't have to personnaly go to extreme measures and screw every thing up to get to the top. From what I've read you can hire a local "somebody" that will help you get to the top so you be all you think you need to be. One Jump Wonder
