I don't think so. I doubt they're trying to steal his money, it just sounds like they're understaffed. Importing a coach is a stretch, but if the DZO was really trying to work with him, then it would be a simple proposition. Beyond that, if he does get a license elsewhere, he should still be able to spend the money he put on his account. As much as they're not trying to steal it, they don't want to refund it either. So if he gets a license, he can work the balance down paying for gear rental and slots. Larry has been around for awhile, and this isn't an everyday problem for this DZ. It's a weekend DZ, and it's common for these types of places to be very tight on staff. If one or two guys move away, or are out with an injury, it really puts the squeeze on the whole operation. I'm sure this situation is an exception to the norm, and that the DZ would rather see the OP satisfied as a customer. Hi Dave Never said the DZ is trying to steal the customers money. When a customer at any business buys "a package" or pays in advance they are operating at a disadvantage. Business people don't turn away new business because their over booked or short of inventory. The new money moves to the head of the line or they may go somewhere else. The paid in advance (non refundable) package is on the hook. They can wait for the business to fullfill their part of the contract however long that may take, or they can go somewhere else. We're not talking about a customer paying a deposit to reserve a product and not picking it up or cancelling and leaving a business on the hook. The customer paid in full, if the business can't deliver the product, they need to return the customers money for the products they are unable to deliver. Winters coming how long is the customer supposed to wait for delivery for a seasonal product One Jump Wonder -

Hi N Reminds me of General Westmorland in the Nam. Recentl releassed info reveal LBJ was of the opinion that the war in the nam was lost but westmoreland kept asking for more troops and LBJ kept sending them. Generals aren't going to go public and say the war can't be won and we need to pull out. They simply ask for more troops, which will delay the pull out until they get promoted or retire. It's that time of the year again so I thought maybe we need to start a thread about the USPA nationals from the years gone by. I'm thinking when the nationals were actually run by USPA. With pea gravel, spotting scopes, and pencil and paper. Anyone attend the USPA Nationals when it was held in Richmond Indiana in 78. Not quite back in the day But still paper and pencil. Hi DB The feds (SEC) tried this type of a program before and ended up with the Bernie Madoff scandal. Bernie wasn't operating in a vacumn he was being audited annually, had a full time complience officer he was even investigated by the SEC in reponse to whistle blower complaints. USPA is lobbying for this same type of self regulation for it's Group members Will the FAA buy it Will the proposed program improve acft safety on the dz Time will tell -

All I'll say is, I would never even think about putting a sticker in one of Steve's planes. ********************************* and that statement, packer boy, just smacks of being a thrown down gauntlet!! Hi 2004 In the spirit of cooperation, sportmanship etc I'd like to defuse this situation before it starts. What we here is a failure to communicate. I don't think it was Mister packer boy's intent start some shit. I don't think he has the authority to throw down the gauntlet for steve. Mister Packer boy : Remove foot from mouth and watch your butt for steves foot. I'm sure that the visiting skydivers know the packer boy wasn't speaking for steve and will take that into account. Their mature adults and are guests at the DZ and will respect the DZOs property. Disclaimer I've never met Mister Packer boy or steve and am not authorized to speak for either of them or the visiting skydivers. Can't we all just get along, One Jump Wonder -
VFW members duct tape flag burner to flag pole
Krip replied to wayneflorida's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Q Thanks for the link. For some reason I'm a little surprised at the way the comments in the links mirror the comments in SC. Minus the bickering and local color. I have the following observations The story was not well researched and written. Some parts don't make sense. Reads like a reporter writting aboout a skydiving incident The comments about what goes on at the VFW club and the type of person that burned the flag? Hard to tell whats true. Due process etc, if the vets action was against the law, fine prosecute them. If the flag burner broke the law fine prosecute him also. These legal actions can still be taken but thats the local DA's call. This country is facing some serious challenges in the years ahead we need to stop sniping at ea other and pull together. We need to encourage our gov't to support our newest vets and their families. Some of them are hurting, and are falling thru the holes in the gov't safety net that our taxes are supposed to be paying for. The VA is continueing to drop the ball. Vets aren't evil some of them just need a helping hand instead of slogans. One Jump Wonder -
Hi Just a WAG how many jumps you figure you got from 7500' I'm guessing 450 out of my first 500. Turbines are sweet and there's no reason to turn the clock back, but just wondering. Before I forget what seven fiive means. One Jump Wonder

VFW members duct tape flag burner to flag pole
Krip replied to wayneflorida's topic in Speakers Corner
If a person is duct taped to a flag pole in front of a VFW hall with a sign around his neck saying he was a flag burner, would it not be "foreseeable" that somebody might walk by and punch him or otherwise abuse him? I'm not saying that's what happened, but if you discount that as a foreseeable possibility, I think you probably suffer from a lack of imagination. If you've been following the comments on other web sites about this, a surprising number of people have said the man should have been lit on fire. Hi Q Comments on other web sights Could you post some Links Thank you One Jump Wonder
