Hi Steve No big deal but, crew chiefs didn't fly we were called loadmasters, opened the door 20 minute warning etc. We did have a knife and a winch. My plan was to give the jumpmaster the knife if he needed one amd stand back One Jump Wonder

can you do payments on skydiving gear?
Krip replied to dontlikemustard's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
+1 After you've done your first couple of jumps, and are sure you want to continue, talk to a few people around the DZ, there is bound to be a bunch of decent 2nd hand gear for sale. You also have the advantage of being able to show the gear to your instructor so he can inspect it and tell you if its decent and suitable. +2 And don't buy a canopy that's to small for your weight & experience level. Take care of it and you'll be able to sell it to another young jumper, and trade up if you want to. One Jump Wonder -

POPS accuracy is for older men son. Maybe its called hit & rock. It goes something like, land, touch the DC, and run to and sit in the rocking chair. Where you ditch your rig is up to you. Lowest time wins, and it's very competive. Could be a video on utube, or maybe not. One Jump Wonder

Hi Dave I'm sorry but until USPA makes a good faith effort by polling their GM DZ's. and the same DZ's are willing to go thru their human memory banks or written records about the maiming injuries that occured at their DZ's I can not acccept the fact that the data doesn't exist for the maiming injuries. The consequences of maimimg injuries are so horrendous that it's something thats hard to forget. Ignoring them is doing a diservice to all USPA members and their families. IMO I don't think we need to know specific locations, yr's and peoples names, but at least USPA thru their GMDZ's should make a effort to collect the specific data and publish the results. If after USPA makes the effort and there is no known maiming injuries. Than it is what it is, just rumors, & urban legends. I find it hard to belive that Everyone that has a serious injuryas a result of a failure to land a perfectly good canopy will either fully recover or die. DSE's recovery from his bad landing was remarkable, but he's also a remarkable person, maybe more than human. But their are a lot of others that don't have DSE's abilities. Lets not say no without even trying first. Don't forget USPA is by and for the membership. I don't have a clue if the ratio of death to maiming is 10 to 1 or 1 1 to zero. If the facts aren't available than how about USPA starst collecting them this spring or summer or next yr and come up with a percentage and plug it into the past yrs fatalities. While their at it they can also start collecting data on who has/hasn't taken canopy courses and gotten hurt, maimed or worse. Just the facts folks so people know what their up against. R. Thanks everyone who posted. It sounds even worse than I supected, I understand the way insurance companies work A quick read of the language thet used "up to" etc. and the very fine print someone pointed out, the inurance is a annual contract. We had a average of 3 dogs for the last 20 yr's with out the "help"of a insurance company, (self insured) We take care of our HBF just like a smart jumper takes care of their gear. If something goes sideways we know about it immediatly. Thanks once again every one accept the OP. R.

Hi #2 OK I'm a dude but Ihave no problem calling you a masturbater. Just because you've been called a wanker or JO you didn't have to go to college to improve your technique. http://www.edenfantasys.com/masturbators/hands-free-masturbators/ If you already wearing eyeglass's stop JO before you go blind R. I would have called you a jerk off but since you went to college.

reply] Maybe we should start an informal stat thing like DSE is doing on the camera thread...I can think of 5 life changers I've personally witnessed in the past 2 years alone...and probably 20 off hand I've heard about in that time. Thats the big elephant in the room that a lot of people can't see or don't want to talk about but they are out there. 1) Sangi 2) Tim Sagehorn 3) 4) How many more? 10? 20? I first heard the following statement in 1985 from a old friend when I was considering getting back in the sport. "Who says skydivers are stupid? We invented a whole new way to kill ourselves" That was 25 years ago ladies and gents, Based on current data that doesn't exist or is skethy and ad it to the 25 yr old quote above "Who says skydivers are stupid? We invented a whole new way to kill and maim ourselves" I know I'm not going to be around in another 25 yr's -
Old Timers, How many sport static lines did you make?

Hi JB!!!!, funny thing you should mention that!! 'Made it thru the C&P's, 5 sec and 10 sec delays but the 15's got me with the spinz!! Did a couple where I wound up a bunch of line twists! Thank God those 28's had long lines! Lynn Anselmo from Louisiana Skydivers finally straightened me out with a good pep talk about "RELAXING!!!" He said holding a "Hard Arch" when ya' pick up speed does it, gotta relax and go with the flow!! I said,"Ya' want me to go up and do a 10SD??" "No," he said,"We're goin' up, I'll follow you out and you're gona do a 30!!(from 7500'!)" He kept talkin to me in the plane tellin me to remember to relax and off we went!! "WOW!!" That was the one!! Kept checkin my alt and Lynn was right there, seemed like the dive took forever!! That was jump# 20 on 27DEC64. Hi skybill (HUMOR) Dude ur so retarded wht didn't try tandem, AFF, the tunnel, utube , turbines to 13k. wanna check out my video Let me guess you walked up hill to school in the snow coming and going. Sorry Folks I couldn't help myself Got my medicare card in the mail today I can hardly wait for the next milestone R. -
Hi We usually had nultiple dogs up to 4 at a time and never could really afford to buy health insurance for our dogs. So we were self insured. Now that we're down to two dogs that are almost as old as we are, we're considering getting some insurance, we've been lucky so far but fixing a torn ACL cost us $2k last year. Our babies are worth it but we're retired

That is what the motorola lap dock is for silly. Not to mention blowing up the porn so I don't have to watch it on a 3.4" screen. But I also have an HDMI port on my phone so I could plug it into the flat screen...... I'm a senior citizen and way behind computers, don't have a cell phone never texted etc.. In spite of all the challenging situations going on in the world. IMO the digitial age is a bright spot on the horizon. For the people that are smart enough to harness this "latest and greatest" ever changing technology. In your OP it sounded like you were asking a question but you already know the answer INO Your paying $X and $Y /month for redundent systems If your young enough and smart enough be a leader rather than a follower. Enjoy the future. R.

Not to worry the link was from a company selling Life insurance. WAG the longer you live the more money you can withdraw on annual basis before your supposed to die. Save your money take a couple of canopy courses and be all you thought you wantet to be. One Jump Wonder
